08/02/2026: Very scenic, it feels like a 19th-century restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, who explained the menu to us thoroughly. We had the pumpkin tortelli Mantovana-style and others with butter and sage. The first courses were truly delicious, as the sweetness of the pumpkin and amaretto tortelli perfectly contrasted the savory flavor of the sausage (I also recommend a cheese vrangata), while the butter ones were too sweet and became too hearty after a while, but that's a matter of taste. The wine was good. Very fair prices. I would have also liked to try the chicken, which looked delicious, but we were full; the portions were generous.

Traditional atmosphere, excellent hospitality, attentive service, and above all, excellent food!
Highly recommended!

08/01/2026: Nestled in the famous Galleria leading to the Gonzaga garden, this wonderful Osteria is welcoming and comfortable.
All dishes were cooked to order and uniformly excellent, as well a generously portioned. The attentive waiter took great care of the entire restaurant.
The salumi misti, served with freshly baked dough pockets, were superb. We also liked to pike in green sauce on a bed of earthy polenta and the tasty duck sauce of our pasta dish.
Wines by the glass were good quality and price.
When visiting Sabbioneta, this is definitely the restaurant to seek out.

17/01/2026: Stopped by randomly and was welcomed so warmly. I asked for tortelli alla zucca (pumpkin ravioli) absolutely loved them and drank 2 glasses of Lambrusco and a coffee. Great prices and the ladies were so welcoming.
30/12/2025: A truly unique place! Local clientele, no tourists. Excellent homemade ravioli amari and "sbrisolina"! A truly authentic atmosphere. You'll be captivated!

05/01/2026: Excellent evening! The atmosphere is welcoming and spacious. It wasn't the first time, and it's always top-notch. This trattoria is located in the center of Castel d'Ario, with plenty of seating and a large parking lot. Reservations are always recommended, given the high attendance. I'd say the food is excellent, and the service is excellent, given the speed with which the dishes arrived.
I noticed they also offer a lunchtime business menu, which I've personally never tried, but I think it could be very good.
I can only recommend it to those passing through and those who live in the surrounding provinces.

22/02/2026: I expected the place to be better maintained. It has a lot of leaks in the walls. The exterior windows need painting. I found a glass with lipstick on it 😡
The staff were friendly and presentable. Being a seafood restaurant, I would have expected the place to be reasonable for the price.

The place is very nice and centrally located, but the whipped cream tasted like the tasteless, pre-made spray-on kind, and a pastry shop that aspires to be such can't afford to have products that seem subpar. If the products are homemade and artisanal, all the ingredients must be extremely fresh.
02/11/2025: Everything was very good. But the prices were incredibly high. I paid €4 for a hot latte with a dusting of cocoa, and €4 for a bottle of grapefruit juice. The bottom line is €30.60 for three brownie bites, two croissants, three bottled juices, two hot lattes with cocoa toppings, and two espressos. If it were a square, I'd understand, but the street is secondary. I repeat: everything was excellent, but the prices were insane.

18/12/2025: Try to express even a modest compliment, and you'll be returned with a dazzling smile and a sweet look. These guys aren't the only reason to frequent this trattoria. The food is good, simple, and reasonably priced. This is also what makes Mantua magnificent.

01/02/2026: We went there for dinner a couple of weeks ago, with our little girl in a stroller. We had a great time right away. The captain made us feel right at home. We ate and drank wonderfully: capunsei, agnolotti, grilled chicken... truly special! We hope to return as soon as possible. Thank you for everything.
04/01/2026: A timeless trattoria serving local dishes, no frills, but the elegant welcome entrée is noteworthy. The fried perch is delicious, and the grilled whitefish is tasty. The service is inconsistent, depending on the staff taking orders and delivering the dishes: from smiling and friendly waitresses to young, funereal, terse, and somewhat distracted waiters (there was no way I got grilled vegetables, even though I repeated the order a second time). For a simple lunch, it's fine.
