While we understand that gastronomic culture is distinct from political decisions, we believe that in this tragic historical moment—marked by an extremely bloody war—the decision to promote such an event is inappropriate. Celebrating the traditions of a state carrying out military aggression could be perceived as a sign of indifference to the ongoing human tragedy and the thousands of victims. 02/11/2025: A trattoria with ample parking in the middle of the countryside. We had a generous assortment of appetizers. Two exceptional first courses. Everything was delicious, so much so that I had to take home a jar of their delicious pumpkin mustard!

16/02/2026: I went to Ristorante Bar da Loris e Chiara this evening and I'm absolutely delighted. I ordered a Margherita pizza and a Quattro Formaggi pizza – both were prepared very quickly and tasted fantastic. Fresh, perfectly baked, and bursting with flavor. But what truly made this visit special was the incredible friendliness of the staff. Out of curiosity, I asked where I could find eggs at this hour, and I was told it was difficult. The waitress then asked me how many I needed. When I said "four," she went into the kitchen and came back with four eggs. Meeting such helpful, warm, and attentive people was truly a treat. Besides the delicious food, what I'll remember most is this exceptional hospitality. Thank you for this wonderful experience – I'll definitely be back!

15/02/2026: I discovered it by chance at a dinner with a former classmate, and it turned out to be an exceptional place! From mussels to pizza, from paella to cacio e pepe, and even spaghetti with seafood... everything was delicious! The wine list is impressive, and the staff are so friendly and helpful, it felt like home! What can I say? You have to try it!

01/01/2026: Not too far from the Asti Ovest toll booth, so it's convenient for a stop to break up a journey. I had an excellent pizza and noticed the wonderful courtesy and kindness of the substitute. The artisanal desserts were delicious.

I SPENT 60 EUROS ON TAKE-OUT PIZZAS, BUT THEY WERE REALLY DISGUSTING, WITH MANY BURNED PARTS. WHAT A SHAME... GET A GOOD PIZZA CHEF AND PAY HIM WELL SO YOU CAN AVOID LOSING CUSTOMERS.

16/01/2026: Terrible Experience Jan 2026 • Family A very serious and unacceptable experience, and unfortunately it's not the first time. On several occasions, we've found ourselves paying prices different from those listed on the menu, and even items we never ordered were listed on the receipt. On our last visit, we were charged for a zuppa inglese and a chocolate cake we never ordered, a baby pizza charged €7.50 instead of the indicated €6, and a mixed fried fish listed at €16 on the menu but paid €18 at the counter. These can't be simple mistakes: when it happens repeatedly, it speaks volumes about a lack of transparency and a lack of fairness towards the customer. Such behavior is very serious and completely undermines trust. I advise everyone to check their receipt item by item, because the risk of overpaying is real. For our part, we will never set foot in this restaurant again.

13/09/2025: This evening I returned to Café Matisse for dinner, having not been there in a while and still craving it. The restaurant is located in Viadana, in the province of Mantua (Lombardy). As usual, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and kindness of the staff: qualities that are now rare in restaurants, almost as if they were forgotten virtues. At Café Matisse, however, the art of hospitality is still carefully cultivated. The ambiance deserves special mention, distinguished by a style that is both formal and innovative, accompanied by pleasant background music that contributes to the harmonious and relaxing atmosphere. Moving on to the dishes: For my appetizer, I enjoyed a potato and spinach tart with Parmigiano Reggiano cream. A combination that, while it may seem predictable, proved to be balanced and completely successful. A small tip: the sage leaf used as a garnish would not be out of place if also inserted into the cream, as an additional aromatic note. I then moved on to a Chianina beef burger, served with fresh vegetables and baked potatoes. The meat revealed a flavor both bold and refined; I opted for medium-rare, executed with mastery. The meat was rested properly, preventing any juices from escaping—an unmissable technical detail that deserves praise from the kitchen team. Finally, for dessert, I chose a creamy mascarpone with saffron and hazelnut crumble. I must admit, I would have expected a more punchy finish. The combination of saffron and hazelnuts was interesting, although the hazelnuts were overpoweringly overpowered by the saffron. The cream, while full-bodied, soft, and silky on the palate, lacked the depth of flavor that would have made the dessert truly memorable. In conclusion, Café Matisse confirms itself as a place worth experiencing, not only for the quality of its dishes, but also for its refined atmosphere and the selection of drinks that complement and enrich the dining experience. An ideal stop for those seeking an evening of taste and pleasant conviviality. A sincere and heartfelt compliment goes to all the staff at Café Matisse: from the kitchen to the dining room, each one contributes with professionalism, elegance, and grace to making this venue a benchmark in Mantua's dining scene.
