19/09/2025: Our favorite neighbourhood pizzeria! Located in Silvella (UD), this modest hole-in-the-wall pizzeria is one of the best pizzerias in Friuli Venezia Giulia! We always order their “GIRO PIZZA” (“Pizza Tour”)— this unique offer allows diners to select different pizza flavors/combinations of their choice from Ambaradan’s Special/Gourmet Pizza Menù. Ambaradan offers the most unique pizza combinations with the freshest ingredients often at 0 km. Reservations are not required but I recommend booking in advance!

07/09/2025: We stopped by on our bike tour. We arrived early and had the chance to hear the chef introduce us to his special pizzas. The expert spoke enthusiastically about his new creations. So, here you'll find both standard and very special, often local, combinations. Very good pizzas, explained with great respect. That was a nice surprise! From the outside, the pizzeria looks more like a takeaway pizzeria. Of course, it's completely different inside. The neighborhood knows this place well, so it's best to arrive early!

18/10/2025: Friday lunchtime, apart from us, there were only Italians, who were simply having lunch. One table remained free. When ordering the fish platter for two, we were immediately informed that it would take half an hour. Everything was freshly prepared and a feast for the eyes. A fish platter for two cost €54, absolutely reasonable and sufficient. €16 for three octopus arms with a small side dish. Fish and seafood come at a price, I don't quite understand the other reviews. For the fish platter, a side table was traditionally brought out, and they asked if they wanted the fish cut up in front of us. Almost all the other guests took advantage of this, and we did it ourselves. The picture shows about a third of the octopus portion 🐙

21/09/2025: Visited for a romantic weekend with my partner, the Rifugio offers both a bed and breakfast option and a "just" culinary experience. It was recommended to us by friends, and we couldn't have been happier. The room was spotless and wonderful, entirely in wood. It had a unique sense of calm, and we slept wonderfully. Located just steps from Lake Barcis, which can be visited and hiked, it's a charming and peaceful place. The friendly and kind staff made us feel at home, always available. The delicious food surprised us; one dish led to another, and the prices are fair and totally in line with the quality and robustness of the products offered. A member of Slow Food, Rifugio Vallata is definitely a place worth visiting again and again;

21/09/2025: Today, for the first time, a couple of friends took us to this place for lunch. It was beautiful, welcoming, and very well-prepared. The location was very charming, and the food was equally as good; we ate very well. I gave it 4 stars because the prices are a bit high.

29/09/2025: We've been several times and have always had a great experience, both in terms of the food and the courtesy of the wait staff. We're in love with the dishes they serve, with explanations of the dish and the ingredients used to make it. We've brought friends who have had the same impression. Keep it up.

24/09/2025: Excellent, I'd say... a lovely evening spent with friends. We had the opportunity to taste excellent dishes, both traditional and non-traditional. The gnocchi with gulag were extraordinary! The house wine had a fruity pineapple flavor. The atmosphere was friendly and tasteful, and the service was friendly and professional. I highly recommend it!

30/08/2025: Family atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, more than fair prices. A word of advice: make sure you're hungry, as the portions are generous. Reservations are recommended. A must-visit, we'll be back.

18/09/2025: We went to Torate twice during our vacation in Carnia. Once, we ate delicious frico and polenta. The Sacher torte was a bit dry. The second time, we had pizza, and I have to say it was truly delicious. The service was impeccable, the waiters were very kind, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. RECOMMENDED.

01/10/2025: Excellent food. 5-star setting. Unique atmosphere. The only flaw is that the service staff are probably living off the place's reputation, allowing themselves to wait in line for over 15 minutes without even a hint of a friendly gesture. I'm used to mountain hospitality, I know the peak seasons, and I'm the most patient and welcoming person in the world. But when that reputation becomes a reason to justify rude, unkind responses and poor hospitality towards customers who have been frequenting the place for decades, that transcends any excuse. I'll return only to experience the cozy, Christmassy winter atmosphere, but I'll order the bare minimum. Too bad. It would be a 5-star plus place.

19/10/2025: Very beautiful location, the view is spectacular, but the food isn't up to par. The meat tartare isn't the freshest, the industrial gnocchi are cheap, and the tagliatelle with truffles is tasteless. For the price, we expected better.

04/10/2025: Osteria degli Antenati was a small but well-kept and well-decorated restaurant from the very first moment. The welcome was excellent: the waitress was kind and quick to seat us. The menu, presented on a blackboard, required some clarification for some dishes, but the staff was immediately helpful and knowledgeable in helping us choose. The wait was pleasant and short, with the offer of an original candy-shaped cheese wafer and delicious fresh bread. The first courses arrived in about 15 minutes and were truly delicious and well-received. The house wine also stood out for its good flavor. Unfortunately, the second courses didn't live up to the first courses. The frico was too cheesy and had overcooked potatoes. The cutlet, unfortunately dry, turned out to be a classic cordon bleu and not the alternative I had expected. I definitely wouldn't choose them again. The meal concluded with a good coffee and grappa. Additional points: I appreciated the smoking area, which, although small, serves its purpose well. A special mention goes to the bathroom: clean and equipped with many useful accessories for any eventuality. The mirror and door locking system are also nice, although the only flaw was the lack of a clear "occupied" sign or indication. Regarding logistics, there is some parking in front of the restaurant, although limited. It's unclear whether there is a parking area reserved for customers, as I didn't see one. In summary: Osteria degli Antenati is a pleasant place with attentive service and excellent first courses, but the second courses are a bit disappointing.

23/09/2025: I found this place by chance, and I have to say everything was delicious. I have to compliment the young man and woman who served me, who were truly professional. The dishes were truly thoughtful and of good quality, and the atmosphere was very nice and refined. I recommend trying it, and if I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.
