15/09/2025: An iconic place where you can enjoy the area's most typical and oldest recipe, L'Ocikana. You can also try Friulian dishes like Il Fricco. Either way, the pasta and meat dishes are exceptional and in a unique setting. In the last four years, I've traveled to Friuli three times from Spain, and each time, I absolutely must pay them a visit to taste their exquisite Ocikana. Thank you so much 😊

20/09/2025: On the way from Italy near the border with Austria, we stopped here for a small lunch. Just by looking at it, from the outside or inside, you can see that the Dolomites end around the corner and the Alps begin. We arrived at lunchtime, it was full, the staff had a lot of work and orders, so they were not very talkative. The pizzas on the plates of the other guests already looked so classic, not completely Italian, but this Pizza Štangla was excellent. I recommend it to anyone who is not too hungry. The taste, presentation, and overall appearance of the food are all excellent. I can imagine coming here again in a quieter time and having peace of mind even with choosing a place according to your own needs, watching the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

06/10/2025: We stumbled upon this place quite by chance a few nights ago. The place is really cozy and has a wonderful, elegant feel. The food was simply delicious, and the staff was super friendly and very attentive. We really enjoyed our time here. Hopefully, we'll be back soon!

25/09/2025: I went for dinner because I had a €50 discount from a well-known booking app. Honestly, I had high expectations for this place, especially since I've been frequenting Porto San Rocco for a long time as a guest of a shipowner. The entree was brought, but there were no cutlery, and the waiter disappeared. I'd say it turned out to be the best dish. The mussels appetizer had no seafood flavor, and the sauce was practically nonexistent. The spaghetti with clams was far too al dente, needing at least a couple more minutes of cooking, and was very dry. A plate of crudités, which I didn't eat; I was told only the shrimp were up to par. We asked for bread between the first and second courses, but it never arrived. Bottom line: despite the €50 discount, the quality/price ratio was really poor. Definitely not recommended.

21/06/2025: Great pizza, if someone happens to pass through this city like me, I recommend stopping by. One of the two people knows English but that doesn't cause any problems. Additionally, the menu is on the wall so you could probably even communicate with sign language (the average person would understand the names of the pizzas and ingredients)

10/09/2025: Beautiful location in Barcola, just steps from the sea. Friendly, helpful, and professional staff. Traditional cuisine, fresh fish, and generous, tasty dishes. I definitely recommend it.

18/08/2025: Everything was delicious, with a lovely outdoor space and very friendly and helpful staff. We ordered seafood spaghetti and grilled sea bream, both perfectly prepared and served by very friendly and helpful staff. Kudos to the management, it's truly worth it.

16/09/2025: Don't ask for lactose-free mozzarella because they'll replace it with regular mozzarella and charge you for it. My gut doesn't make mistakes. Thank you and congratulations on the service.

17/08/2025: Good pizza that deserved 5 stars, but after a 50-minute wait... I can't help but... This review is from 3 years ago, but since the pizza is the best in the area, and not only that, I can't help but change it. Perhaps priority should be given to in-house pizzas rather than takeout. The inside is noisy, but there are also outdoor seating areas. It's definitely best to book.

23/02/2025: Pizza super, impasto leggero e ingredienti di prima scelta. Servizio attento e professionale ( ma come in tutti i locali tirano via il piatto quando ancora hai l ultimo boccone). Bello il locale ma faceva un po’ freddino.

14/10/2025: My appetizer and first course was good and full of flavor. The dessert is what made my experience a little upsetting because I got the peach puree with crumble. But it was serve to me with NO CRUMBLE!! And the whole time I wish I would have spent my money on some gelato.

08/10/2025: Very nice restaurant. I went with a friend; we just grabbed a quick dish, but we immediately felt welcomed. A good bottle of wine was served after several requests (sorry again 😅), and they were clearly very willing to accommodate us. The young, dynamic staff were eager to share their passion. After dinner, we were happy to chat with the chef and the head waiter, and we were very pleased!

31/07/2025: A very homey atmosphere, with daily specials displayed at the counter and heated on the spot. A vast selection of seafood and top-quality fish. The atmosphere is quite comfortable; highly recommended for a quick but excellent seafood lunch by the sea in Trieste!
