04/08/2025: I took a week-long vacation in July 2025. It was a wonderful holiday for me. The breakfast was plentiful and varied, catering to all tastes, as was dinner. The owners and staff were very friendly and eager to accommodate every need. The hotel is very close to the city center yet away from the hustle and bustle. Ample parking. Bike rental available (which is a plus), and it's very close to the Alpe Adria cycle path. I highly recommend it.

We tried the clam soup and the mixed seafood spaghetti — both were absolutely delicious and filled with truly fresh seafood. The prices are reasonable, the waiter was extremely polite, and the place is dog-friendly too. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Trieste and looking for authentic, high-quality seafood dishes!

18/07/2025: I admit I've returned to this place after a long time, and management must have changed. The place is a typical bar with old-fashioned vintage furnishings that feel like a step back in time, but the old management was the perfect combination of a family atmosphere without any pretensions, good food, and unsurprising prices. Bearing this in mind, I still wanted to try it, so I ordered two small pastries—not the famous carsoline, which were already sold out, but a different kind of dessert. It's certainly good, but I don't find five euros a portion justified, neither for the type of dessert, nor for the service offered, nor for the type of venue (identical to the old one and not renovated). I repeat, the dessert was good, but overall it wasn't worth the asking price, especially considering it was a takeaway. A real shame, because I appreciated the decision not to alter the bar's structure and menu.

11/11/2025: A wonderful experience, a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Eugenio and his staff. Yesterday we were at the Malcanton to celebrate my son's graduation. There were 14 of us, all thrilled with the atmosphere and service. Mr. Eugenio is a great host and a very helpful person.
