I'm served a 150 ml glass of soda water with lemon by a lady who then leaves the place. In the hand of a very young boy. I ask for the bill: 1 euro. In five other bars in Maniago I paid for 50 ml of bottled mineral water. I comment that it seems expensive to me. The boy replies that it seems expensive to him too. I insist that elsewhere in the town a 50 ml costs even 40 ml and he replies: it's because of inflation. I pay because I'm an idiot, and I had to insist on the receipt which, by chance, the economist had missed the inflation! I felt like I was being taken for a ride by a boy with an excellent sense of humor but no shame or sense of manners. And also a tax evader. Congratulations to whoever educated him.) It is not advisable to go from the bar to the bottegon of Andea Pittau, son of Giampietro Pittau.

04/08/2025: I took a week-long vacation in July 2025. It was a wonderful holiday for me. The breakfast was plentiful and varied, catering to all tastes, as was dinner. The owners and staff were very friendly and eager to accommodate every need. The hotel is very close to the city center yet away from the hustle and bustle. Ample parking. Bike rental available (which is a plus), and it's very close to the Alpe Adria cycle path. I highly recommend it.

08/09/2025: Prompt, friendly service. Very good food. Very tasty dessert! Average wine. Reasonably priced. The covered "garden" looks like a hall.

12/10/2025: We arrived close to closing time, but they welcomed us and fed us anyway, very friendly staff, quite extensive menu, good quality, quantity and price ratio, I would recommend it

05/10/2025: We went to dinner, making reservations three weeks in advance for 17 people. The same day, the person who had made the reservation called to specify that we wanted to sit inside, and we were reassured that given the low temperatures, the table would be indoors. We arrived for dinner and the table was outside, so we complained, and presumably the owner, waving his arms, said, "Everything's full." Without apologizing for the inconvenience, he had us sit outside. The pizzas, in my opinion, had a poor dough (it's a matter of taste), and the draft beers were poorly drawn (just CO2). They asked us if we wanted coffee, but obviously forgot about it. Unfortunately, the dinner was ruined. UPDATE: It's not true that we requested a seat outside; in fact, we requested a seat inside the same day, calling at lunchtime because they were closed beforehand. The pizzas weren't finished, maybe... The employees treated us with a courteous attitude, to say the least, even calling us back while pointing their finger at one of the guests after we tried to say we'd asked to sit inside as per our reservation. We didn't order in installments, but simply when a waiter deigned to consider us, we ordered coffee and liquor. Yes, we complained to the cashier because they kicked us out, but the response was surreal. What did they gain by kicking us out? The place was simply full; it's better to kick out a group of 17 than several tables for 2-4 people. A group of 17 has no alternative on a Saturday night, while a table for 2-4 probably does. In any case, not even an apology to customers who paid for everything while eating in the cold. You draw your own conclusions; we're not going back.

21/10/2025: Spectacular, simple atmosphere, excellent food, non-invasive staff

20/10/2025: I visited this place during a bike trip. I ordered a plate of gnocchi with Trevisana sauce and a quart of red wine. I only saw the waiter when he served me the gnocchi, and then he disappeared. Since he hadn't left me any grated cheese, I had to go look for it. When I went to the cashier to pay, there was a gentleman with a southern accent (I assume he was the owner). When I noticed he'd quoted €6 for a quart of red wine, I asked if he'd made a mistake. He replied by showing me a bottle of white wine that had nothing to do with what was served. And anyway, I think the price is exorbitant, as is the €3 cover charge (paper napkin service), so I don't think I'll ever return to this place.

06/10/2025: We've been to Grani di Pepe several times and have always been enchanted and satisfied. The atmosphere is delicate yet welcoming, intimate and refined. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The dishes are refined, and the flavors are a blend of aromas and sensations. Congratulations! Plus, a friendly parrot named Jack always welcomes us, adding a touch of spice to this wonderful restaurant.

12/07/2025: Siamo andate lì per una cena tra ragazze, il posto è bellissimo peccato per il servizio.. cucina buona ma alcuni abbinamenti non ci hanno convinto. Servizio non da un locale di questo livello, non ci hanno abbinato loro un vino al piatto ma ci ha chiesto semplicemente “rosso o bianco”, non sapevano di chi erano i piatti quando ce li portavano al tavolo, le posate le cambiano a ogni portata però se non l’hai usata (secondo loro) non te la cambiano. Poi c’è stato un problema con il secondo di pesce, che conteneva del maiale (non mangio carne) e non era stato segnalato nel menu, quando è stato detto alla cameriera mi ha risposto semplicemente che controllava, senza chiedere se volevo cambiare il piatto o altro. Ovviamente non è stato tolto dal conto. Cucina buona, dipende dai piatti che si prendono, certi favolosi e certi che non funzionano proprio.

05/10/2025: Excellent quality food at a great price. Generous portions, friendly and knowledgeable staff: we had a hard time downloading the menu app (perhaps a simple PDF would have been better), but they explained the dishes to us thoroughly and with great patience. All the dishes were excellent. A special mention goes to the rare beef stratagliata, truly superb.

30/09/2025: We celebrated our daughter's baptism here with the whole family. We had a wonderful time, and everyone was very satisfied with the dishes we tasted. A hidden gem, off the beaten path, surrounded by greenery and peace. Congratulations!
