11/11/2024: Sunday afternoon lunch on the terrace in the November sun. Drank Tuscan rose and had a delicious meal. Nice little town to walk through after dinner.

15/12/2024: Family atmosphere, we immediately felt at home. Excellent food, especially the main dish of the house, the mushroom and chestnut soup, absolutely worth trying! All super good from the first course to the dessert ending with the typical bitterness of the area offered by the house. Super experience, highly recommended!

13/12/2024: A restaurant that puts your good mood back! Excellent lunch, prepared with genuine ingredients, perhaps a little too much seasoning (but very good), incredibly active and numerous service... but how many people work here? Well done and well done 👏 a truly excellent mix of good food, friendliness and care for the location (open kitchen, but how many are there preparing the dishes??). Naturally, no waiting (but always book because the restaurant is crowded especially on holidays).

19/12/2024: I took a cooking class at this restaurant. It was so fun, and creative. We participated in preparing the menu, which was so delicious. My Christmas dinner this year will be the Ossobuco followed with Tiramisu. Breakfast will be Souffle of "Foglia di noce" cheese. I can't wait to return. Wonder if I could be an apprentice? 05/08/2024: Non sono solito scrivere recensioni eppure stavolta lo faccio con estremo piacere. Presso la trattoria ho avuto la possibilità di assaporare dei ravioli di patate e pecorino a dir poco spaziali, Goduriosi. Ovviamente fatti a mano. Un connubio di sapori che si compensavano e univano . Ovviamente,variando spesso il menù non sono sempre disponibili ma qualora vi venissero proposti prendeteli perché strameritano. Anche il resto dei piatti proposti sono altrettanto preparati con attenzione e prelibati ma questi tortelli mi hanno stregato.

18/11/2024: Un bellissimo ristorantino all'interno di una casetta su due piani: la bellissima sala con caminetto al piano inferiore, la cucina a quello superiore. Ottimo servizio, disponibilità, gentilezza e splendido umorismo da buon oste toscano. Cibi buona ma potrebbero osare di più, manca un pò di spinta toscana. Rapporto qualità prezzo buono.

08/11/2024: In recent days, being away for work, we went to dinner at this tavern, what can I say, a warm and welcoming environment, Mrs. Marisa was wonderful and friendly, we were treated like princes, we ate appetizers galore, two wonderful and delicious Florentine women drank at great wine from the Antinori winery, finally desserts and very welcome homemade liqueurs offered which gave me the knockout of happiness 😃, we will return as soon as possible because we have been to many places but here we were at home... thanks for the welcome from all my colleagues The Boys of BRESCIA

03/11/2024: At the end of an intense day of visits and walks, we arrived at this quiet restaurant, welcomed kindly and served quickly by the very nice Noemi. We enjoyed several typical Tuscan dishes, from ribollita to Florentine. Very good, also for the good value for money.

02/12/2024: Location, recommended by a group of Friends, very refined as are the dishes with colors and aromas that envelop the thoughts and satisfy the palate. 03/12/2024: ¡Prometimos que volveríamos! Esta vez, dos años después, con amigos que se quedan con nosotros en Florencia durante unas semanas. Esta visita fue para un almuerzo tardío y no decepcionó! El servicio es perfecto, pero lo más destacado es el menú que es lo mejor que la Toscana tiene para ofrecer. Nuestros compañeros de viaje les encantó su comida. No muy a menudo la comida supera la acumulación. Una vez más, esperamos con interés la próxima visita.

08/11/2024: Locale carino e tipico, personale gentile, cucina genuina. Pici cacio e pepe perfetti, brasato di manzo al vino rosso e faraona al vin santo molto buoni. Tiramisù fatto rigorosamente in casa fantastico. Direi consigliato.

30/10/2024: Eroca Siena per qualche giorno per vacanza e volevo portare la mia ragazza a provare aualcosa di diverso dalle solite osterie nei dintorni, dopo una ricerca ci siamo imbattuti in questa gemma nascosta, che dire siamo stati super soddisfatti. Le crocchette di pappa al pomodoro sono strepitose, ma la presentazione delle zucchine e il sapore dei pici di barbabietola al pesto era spettacolare. Superbo abbinamento con il vino e il tiramisù della casa mi ha fatto tornare bambino. Grazie Matteo sei una bravissima persona oltre che ad un bravissimo maitrê. Ti auguro buona fortuna e salute e se ripassiamo da Siena ripassiamo sicuramente. Ciao e un abbraccio da Luca e Gabriela.

04/08/2024: We ate in this restaurant twice during our vacation and absolutely loved it. All the dishes were super tasty. The desserts were also great. The service was excellent. There was a wine list where each wine was explained again. We hadn't seen that in the other restaurants. We didn't get a seat on the terrace, but the inside was also very nice. The prices are a little higher for the small portions than in the surrounding restaurants, but this is absolutely justified given the quality. We also picked up olive oil from the neighboring shop because we liked it very much and the price was right.

26/08/2024: nel chianti si ha sempre timore di trovare le classiche trappole per turisti, con scarsa qualità e prezzi alti (tanto chi li rivede più) ... non è il caso di questo ristorante. Pranzo agostano in famiglia, unici italiani del locale ... trattamento semplicemente fantastico ... i pici all'aglione, piatto semplice ma realizzato in modo divino, a seguire fegatelli realizzati dal cuoco, tra i migliori mai assaggiati, i prezzi sono più che onesti anche per la lista dei vini, la location è molto piacevole sopratutto il giardino interno, il servizio gentile ... che dire ... bravi e continuate cosi ... se posso tornerò presto.

28/07/2024: I arrived here thanks to the reviews I read and I can only confirm the goodness of this place. Friendly, approachable but always very professional staff. The food is excellent. Picci, paccheri, onion soup and above all the Florentine. Everything excellent, everything quality. Eating typical food in their restaurant was an experience to be recommended. 5 stars for everything!

29/08/2024: evening at Osteria Il Re Gallo, Castellina in Chianti Our afternoon stroll through the picturesque town of Castellina in Chianti, which was supposed to end with ice cream, unexpectedly led us to Osteria Il Re Gallo. 🍝 It was almost 7 p.m., the perfect time for dinner, so after a long walk we started looking for a place where we could eat something. In tourist towns, where crowds of people wander the streets, we usually choose restaurants in more secluded places. Reason? Our dog, who is a bit anxious, feels better in quieter areas. Do you know this? 🐾 This time we chose Osteria, whose tables were located on the corner of the street, right next to the park. We looked inside to see if we could eat something without making a reservation. Fortunately, even though the restaurant didn't open until 30 minutes later, i.e. at 7:30 p.m., we managed to get a table for two people (plus a dog). At the appointed time we sat down to dinner. The first surprise - the girl serving us spoke a little Polish, which was a nice surprise. It turned out that she grew up in the Czech Republic. We ordered dishes from the menu, and of course house wine - but tempted by the recommendation of our caregiver, we first tried tortellini with truffles. What a delight for the palate it was! 😋 Then the pasta was served. The dishes were not only tasty, but also served at the perfect time - the staff was smiling all the time and ready to help. And an interesting fact. During dinner, overhearing the conversation of an American family at a neighboring table, we learned that the wine list includes a unique red Chianti called "Super Toscana", which is a favorite among guests from the USA. Sounds interesting, right? 🍷 And one more thing - in the name of Osteria Il Gallo - it means a rooster. YES, the one in the glass and found throughout the Chianti region as a symbol of the region. ℹ️ Practical information • Reservation: Regardless of the day of the week, it is worth it reserve a table. 📅 This is a city visited often by tourists • Prices: Dishes from 8 to 25 Euro. House wine – 8 Euro for ½ liter. Coperto 2 Euro per person. • Dogs: Welcome, but watch out for cats sometimes they are walking nearby. 🐶🐱 • Opening hours: 12:30-15:00 and 19:30-22:00. 🕒 • We leave cars in external parking lots, in designated places. We reach the centro storico on foot - slightly uphill Osteria Il Re Gallo is a place worth visiting if you are looking for excellent food, a friendly atmosphere and charming surroundings. Book a table and enjoy an unforgettable dinner! 🍽️
