A historic Pisan restaurant that has had several owners over the years. It gets its name from the papier-mâché rock on the ceiling of the main room, reminiscent of a movie set. The smaller room, however, is furnished in a simple, rustic style. The menu features traditional Pisan and Tuscan dishes with a contemporary twist, as well as new dishes from the kitchen. Both dishes were well executed. Service, after an initial wait of about half an hour, was prompt, attentive, and professional. The selection of wines from the Terre di Pisa region is interesting. Good value.

A pleasant evening in the center of Pisa, spent eating inside what feels like a cave.
The food is good, the atmosphere is reminiscent of an old-fashioned tavern, with straw chairs and tables that sometimes need a wedge to stay level.
The waitress was very kind and attentive, accompanying the dishes with a welcoming smile and a very friendly manner.
You come here for a break or to slow down; you'll find a good hot dish, well-served, and a place that preserves the flavors of the past.

We spent Easter lunch at this restaurant and I must say it was a truly pleasant experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, the setting very clean and well-kept, perfect for enjoying the day without stress. We arrived around 1:30 PM and were greeted warmly. Special thanks to the Sicilian-born man, who was incredibly kind. He even recommended a good wine to pair with the food and his friendly manner made us feel right at home. The cuisine was amazing, we'll definitely be back!

Everything went smoothly and unhurriedly, just what we were looking for. The service was excellent, always attentive and helpful. Both the owner and the waiter helped make the lunch perfect, along with the excellent food, of course. The atmosphere was truly pleasant and family-like. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel at ease!

We had the leek and hazelnut flan, Gorgonzola and pear risotto, and gnocchi with octopus ragù, accompanied by a salad and limoncello spritz. Everything tasted superb – all in a relaxed setting on a sunny day, with warm and attentive service – what more could you ask for?
