20/07/2026: My ragu tasted like boring lasagna; I can cook better at home. At these prices, that shouldn't happen. There were restaurants nearby that were significantly better for less money. The restrooms were also very worn.

16/07/2026: Very good food, and the menu offers a good mix of local products and a few innovative touches. Good off-menu options and a wide variety of fish and meat options. Excellent wine selection, including good wines by the glass. The atmosphere is pleasant for couples or groups of four, and the service is kind and friendly. As is often the case in Italy, a few things add to the already high price: filtered water is €4 a bottle, and the cover charge has now risen to €4 per person.

26/07/2026: We came once during our vacation and loved it so much that we returned to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It's the best place we've eaten in the whole city, and the service was incredibly attentive and helpful, always with a smile. I 100% recommend the Sicilian pesto with eggplant. Amazing. Thank you so much for treating us so well.

25/07/2026: We had a wonderful experience at Il Culinario. The food was delicious but little salty, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A special thank you to Paulo, who kindly offered us an almond shot to try and made us feel so welcome. His hospitality and friendliness really made our evening even more enjoyable. 09/06/2026: A hidden gem and well worth seeking out amongst the endless parade of average tourist restaurants in Palermo. The food is honest, beautifully cooked and based on excellent ingredients. The pasta was outstanding and the fish impeccably fresh, all at prices that felt remarkably fair for the quality on offer. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, the service friendly and efficient, and the whole experience felt like discovering a restaurant that locals would rather keep to themselves. If you’re looking for genuine Sicilian cooking rather than a tourist trap, Osteria Mercede is an excellent choice. ★★★★★

11/07/2026: All smoke and mirrors: a completely unsalted appetizer, flaky fries, a tasteless pizza, and a menu written as if they were high-quality ingredients, but the reality is that the pizza has no flavor whatsoever. We tried four different pizzas, and none of them met our expectations, especially the "Sicilian Lumie," made with mortadella (a little), stracciatella, and then, as the icing on the cake, the "dried lemon," aka cosmic nothingness, basically the garnish you put on your drinks. To finish off the dessert: an overly sweet hazelnut log accompanied by a high-quality coffee, aka dirty water.

19/06/2026: The ambiance was great; we sat outside by the street. There was something to see. The food was typical Sicilian, the service was fair, and we explained that the wine order was rather expensive, even though it was regional. Simply good and highly recommended.

A delightful surprise awaited us with three refined amuse-bouches, a choice of starters including fresh chanterelles, perfectly cooked pasta, and fish accompanied by peas – a simple yet exquisite dish. 02/07/2026: Nothing to complain about the quality, but it took 40 minutes to order and an hour and a half to eat a starter (even a bad one). Tables that arrived later had already finished their food. It's a shame, but I won't be returning.

01/07/2026: I couldn't fault the quality of the fish, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, or the charming setting overlooking the Terrasini marina. However, there were many flaws in the preparation of the dishes and the service. My wife and I, on the waiter's recommendation, ordered spaghetti with lobster (a lobster weighing approximately 600g, halved to make two dishes). In my opinion, the spaghetti wasn't enough for a portion, while the sauce (lobster meat) was, by eye, mostly on one plate and not evenly distributed between both. We decided to initially order two glasses of wine and not order water. As the evening progressed, I ordered another glass; shortly after being served, I noticed an insect inside. No complaints about that; it was early summer and we were outside—it can happen! I pointed out the problem to the waiter, who immediately changed the glass and poured me more wine. Evening over, I paid the bill and left. When I got home, I thought back to the wine we'd both enjoyed so much, so I pulled out the receipt to check if the specified winery was available. To my surprise, I noticed that the bill also included the glass I didn't drink because of the insect, as well as a bottle of water I never ordered and never delivered. We would have gladly returned to try the other dishes on the menu, but given the service and the price (proportionate to the quality of the ingredients, but disproportionate considering the attention paid to the customer), I think we'll skip it. In all of this, I'm sorry for not having checked the receipt immediately.

The chef demonstrates remarkable culinary skill, showcasing each ingredient with great balance and sensitivity. The dishes arrive with meticulous attention to detail, prepared with technique and passion: authentic flavors, perfectly cooked, and a presentation that respects tradition without sacrificing elegance. His experience and love for cooking are clearly evident, with recipes executed impeccably and with particular attention to the quality of the ingredients. Making the experience even more enjoyable is the dining room service, led by the restaurant manager, who is also the restaurant's owner and the chef's brother. He is extremely diligent, discreet, and professional, always present but never intrusive. His attention to the customer is evident in every gesture: from the care with which he accompanies guests throughout dinner to his willingness to recommend dishes and ensure every detail is perfect. This family-friendly synergy between the kitchen and dining room creates an authentic and welcoming atmosphere, where guests truly feel at the center of attention. The passion, professionalism, and dedication that permeate Trattoria Piccolo Napoli transform a simple dinner into a memorable gastronomic experience. 05/07/2026: World class!! Absolutely incredible experiences all the way through! The environment is very romantic in a square surrounded by the beautiful baroque palace Palazzo Gangi and the art museum. The service is absolutely top class! The food is incredibly beautiful and incredibly tasty. But the absolute best of all are the incredible wines that are recommended for each dish. They were absolutely lovely on their own, but then in combination with the food pure magic arose! I am raving about this place! Visit it!

04/07/2026: We spent a wonderful family evening at "La Corte dei Mangioni" and were truly thrilled. The atmosphere is rustic, welcoming, and very comfortable. We ordered pizzas, burgers, and meat: everything was excellent, carefully prepared, and truly delicious. The value for money is excellent and is one of the restaurant's strong points. Special praise also goes to the waiters, always friendly, smiling, and extremely fast. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food arrived very quickly. A truly positive experience in every way. We will definitely return and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and impeccable service.

02/07/2026: Dinner with friends. A popular restaurant with locals from Palermo; we were two families with three children in total. The menu features mainly meat dishes and pizzas. The food was generous and the staff were friendly. Thanks for a lovely evening!

16/07/2026: Giving two stars because my pasta was nice. The antipasti plate was not, sending half of it back to the kitchen uneaten. The service was very slow despite not being busy. The staff all look unhappy and can sense they are being watched by owners/management. As mentioned in another review, the music is horrendously loud. For the entire time the TV was set to a Youtube channel playing AI slop reggae, over and over again, the generic, repetitive sounding songs. Combine with the owner watching TikTok on his phone at full volume throughout, even leaving his phone playing at the table as he went to the till to collect money from people. Honestly it was a sensory overload nightmare.
