02/10/2025: OK place, OK service, average appetizers. PIZZAS: average-high price for the pizza, good dough, but what about the toppings? Let's draw a veil over them. The pizzas are over-topped, with a soft center, and the flavors are therefore mixed, you can't distinguish anything, so everything is messy and the pizza is very heavy to digest, in fact you can only eat half of it. A good pizza must have the right toppings, not too much, because you need to feel the crunchiness of the dough. The toppings that make up the pizza must be distinguishable, it must be light and digestible. QUANTITY IS NOT ALWAYS SYNONYMOUS WITH QUALITY AND ABOVE ALL GOODNESS.

16/10/2025: The restaurant has a pleasant and well-maintained atmosphere, making for a quite welcoming dining experience. The decor and atmosphere are pleasant, perfect for enjoying a quiet meal. The food is good, though I wouldn't say it's among the best I've ever had; the dishes are tasty, but they don't stand out much from other Italian restaurants.
The service, while friendly, was a bit slower than I expected, especially when compared to other restaurants in the area. It wasn't a major inconvenience, but the wait was a bit long for a casual lunch or dinner.
Overall, it's a recommended place if you're looking for a pleasant atmosphere and good food, but perhaps with a little quicker service and a little more flair in the flavors, it could be an even more interesting choice.
14/09/2025: Fantastic! Osteria Ballarò combines tradition and creativity with incredibly tasty dishes, crafted with attention to detail. The atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming, and the service is impeccable. The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive, making you feel right at home. An absolute must-have in Palermo!

05/10/2025: We came here on the recommendation of Osteria d'Italia and had reserved a table. We were told that the restaurant has been run by the same family for over 20 years.
We love and know Italian cuisine and were particularly looking forward to the Sicilian version.
We ordered three starters, one of which was to share. Initially, however, we were only served two, and only after we asked for all three came – this time even more. The bruschetta to share was excellent, but the caponata was rather overcooked and bland, and the Parmigiano was okay.
For our main course, we chose the fish of the day (sea bream with capers, tomatoes, fennel, and peppers). The portion was so small that we had to ask if it was really the main course. Unfortunately, it was – the fish was barely noticeable, as it was completely overpowered by the vegetable sauce.
With a glass of white wine (€9), the bill came to €81. Overall, we were disappointed with both the quality and quantity of the fish and would not eat here again.

30/10/2025: We happen across this fab restaurant. Took a note and came back the following day. It was just what we hoped, an authentic Sicilian experience, delicious food, lovely staff and good wine too! The mixed platter as a starter was excellent! Highly recommend!

Located at one of Palermo's most famous intersections, the sign is beautiful...for a bookstore!!! 😆
A very cozy little place that was recommended to us by practically everyone!!!
A very welcoming place with fast and knowledgeable service.
We ate typical dishes, such as pasta with cauliflower and primo sale cheese and delicious fish couscous!!!
To finish, a coffee and... everyone was settled!!!
One word: GO!!!

22/08/2025: I had the pleasure of visiting the masseria during the Ferragosto holiday. It's a charming place surrounded by nature, just outside the city of Palermo, about 30 minutes away. I had a wonderful lunch on Ferragosto, an excellent menu, served by very attentive and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back!

23/10/2025: Magnificent! We popped in by chance this lunchtime. A menu featuring fresh seafood, daily specials, and perfectly prepared original dishes—we all had a blast!
Special mention goes to the sardine meatballs and the spaghetti with bottarga and shrimp carpaccio.

21/10/2025: Authentic Trattoria in the heart of the Vucciria market, with mostly local clientele, fresh dishes, including pasta with sea urchin, very friendly and sympathetic staff including waiters and owner. I brought great friends from Zaragoza and they enjoyed authentic local dishes. Very much recommended in a relaxing atmosphere. You cannot go wrong ordering here
19/10/2025: Discovered by accident, but a real surprise! Never seen such large mussels, everything was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind. At the end, they even offered us a homemade dessert. Highly recommended! 😄🍽️

La Corte Dei Mangioni

05/10/2025: I went to La Corte dei Mangioni last night. There were 19 of us, including the kids.
A very negative note: we had a reservation for 9:30 PM, and after finally getting seated and ordering, the food was served at 11:25 PM...it was appalling, especially for the kids who couldn't take it anymore. Plus, they didn't serve all the dishes at once.
The pizza was good. As for the sandwiches, we had higher expectations, but instead, we were disappointed. The same goes for the seasoned potatoes. Add to that the fact that, after waiting two hours, some sandwiches arrived burnt and others raw inside...well, it wasn't the best!!! They offered to remake them, but that would have meant waiting I don't know how long, and honestly, NO!!!!
To all this, I must unfortunately add the lack (very little) of courtesy from the girl who served us; she even seemed annoyed and very rude... I'd say politeness comes first! Then, if you understand that people wait two hours for food, at least try to be a little polite and courteous.
We definitely won't be returning!!!
01/10/2025: Inedible Angus steak, served on a hot cutting board that splattered oil all over, mediocre tiramisu... mediocre service. I don't understand how they hold up the 4.5 stars... avoid.
