11/06/2026: It's been a while since I've eaten so well... delicate and distinctive flavors, a varied menu also suitable for vegetarians. The waitress was kind and courteous, attentive to every detail. Desserts made with care and love, by Grandma Paola. I return home satisfied, hoping to return to "Al Cantuccio," certain of feeling welcomed by the good food and attentive hospitality.

22/05/2026: I went to lunch, but due to a mistake on my part regarding the translation, I was served a dish that I'm not used to eating. I called the employee, who must be the manager, asking if he could replace it, and he always complied promptly, without any problem. I recommend it.

14/05/2026: The best pollo I ate in Italia. The Tiramisu was magic! The restaurant was running by active woman and one server! That is different and great atmosphere.

16/06/2026: A family-run restaurant with a varied menu of Roman cuisine and sophisticated specialties (puntarelle, truffle, polenta, and Italian delicacies based on seasonal produce). A variety of appetizers and a menu featuring consistently fresh, top-quality ingredients: fresh fish, deliciously cooked. Of course, the desserts are strictly homemade! My top pick: homemade ravioli or cannelloni, veal breast baked in the oven with fresh potato chips, and a piping hot tartina della nonna! There's nothing better in Rome.

07/06/2026: The first time, we went out after dinner and noticed that instead of two starters, they had put 6. They didn't give us our money back but gave us a voucher. Does that seem normal? We went back another time and they bled us. My fillet was even cooked through. Everything was mediocre and expensive. Never, never, never again.

09/06/2026: A very quaint restaurant, with excellent Roman cuisine, both for starters and main courses, not to mention the pizza, thin and crispy, and delicious in all the variations. The starters—fillets, supplì, and croquettes—are good, but not exceptional. The meatballs, however, are reminiscent of the flavors of the past, those homemade by grandma. Good wine selection, but beer a little less so. Perhaps the draft is missing, only small 33cl bottles. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent service, fast, and waiters always ready to clear empty plates. Prices are perhaps a little high, but you pay for quality.

02/05/2026: Best service, so friendly people. The food? My god awesome left with a smile because of the unexpected experience. Normal prices for what we ate.We found it by wandering but was one of the most authentic nights in Italy!!!

08/08/2026: Overall not memorable. It’s been mentioned many times before by other reviewers, and I echo that service is not good at all. No explanation of menu when asked, never checks on us about how the food was or if we needed anything. Our server came across as nonchalant and rude. We were seated a very small table despite making a reservation ahead of time and the restaurant not being busy with plenty of larger tables. There wasn’t enough room to really put all the food down and we really had to use every space on the table and be careful not to tip over plates. Now foods- I would say overall average. Pasta on cheese plate was chewy and cooked well, but unbalanced with strong bitterness from the burned cheese and saltiness from the pasta and cheese. The oxtail dish on tomato sauce was good- meat was tender, tomato sauce went well with the meat and veggies. The arancini and zucchini starter were also good. Nothing was really outstanding but except for the pasta the overall dishes were ok. Despite of some good potential from this restaurant I think the service needs to improve a lot if they want to push to the next level. Unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience dinning here today and I believe service was the main contributor.

08/08/2026: This restaurant definitely does not care about whether or not you return. Food was good but not spectacular. Service was not that great. The waiters are running around everywhere but they definitely don’t care about making a connection with the patrons. Never asked us how we liked our meals, etc. Ambience is nothing to write home about. We ate outside in the courtyard on plastic seats on an uneven pavement. Ordered prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella. Prosciutto was very lean, buffalo mozzarella was ok. A bit salty. Ordered two pasta dishes and a side of sauteed broccoli. Broccoli came out at the end of our meal. Wasn’t broccoli but rather broccoli rabe minus the florets. Cacio de pepe was as expected. Also ordered the rigatoni with oxtail; however the oxtail was basically nonexistent; couldn’t even get one fork full of meat. Wish I took a photo. Asked for our check and took about 15 minutes for our waiter to respond. He must have passed our table at least 10x before handing us the bill after flagging him down for the 2nd time. Never asked how our meal was or if we wanted any dessert. It’s obvious they don’t care whether or not you return. And as a result we never will.

08/12/2025: The pizza was delicious, and the mussel soup was excellent. The tiramisu was also excellent. The waiters were impeccable. I highly recommend it ❤️

06/12/2025: A casual restaurant offering a fixed-price buffet for lunch. In the evening, pizza and other à la carte options are available. The food is delicious and carefully prepared!

20/05/2026: Best spaghetti… EVER!! And I make great spaghetti, my family makes great spaghetti, and this was amazing. The Fresh spaghetti with tomatoes & basil.

16/07/2026: Delicious pizza, pasta alla arrabbiati, lasagna... and the lemon sorbet with prosecco was enchanting. Mr. Antonio was incredibly kind and helpful, we highly recommend him ❤️

12/07/2026: So…was sitting here 75 minutes after our reservation and still didn’t have pastas - then when they came a few minutes later they were 110% perfect. As was the oxtail when it eventually came. Stunning. But…they are so obviously understaffed (the people working were lovely when we - rarely - spoke with them) and nearly everyone in the restaurant is grumbling about it, such a shame, because if they increased staffing this place would be total perfection. Also - admittedly this was mostly our own idiocy - but we were next door at the address that is actually listed for the restaurant which is apparently a secondary entrance(?) and were knocking on the door and staff inside refused to answer or simply open the door and tell us we needed to be one building over and we felt very dumb when we realized the situation!

12/07/2026: Even though I had a reservation in advance, they seated me in the front garden because I was traveling alone. The waiter ignored me all night; I had to ask for something three times. My last order never came, and instead of asking again, I chose to leave.

02/06/2026: Everything was delicious, just a little pricey, but considering the quality, that's fine. The carbonara is definitely one of the best I've ever eaten. I recommend it and will definitely be back.

30/05/2026: Simple, very reasonably priced Roman food (polpette were excellent). Plenty of local customers among the tourists. Charming brisk service.

10/06/2026: Super kindness and food! I came to the Achille Lauro concert at the Olympic Stadium and they saved me for a quick bite to eat, and I ate divinely. Highly recommended. Pasta alla gricia is TOP!!!!

17/05/2026: I celebrated my daughter's first communion. Lorenzo, the owner, was 100% available. Everything was perfect, and even though we had agreed to arrive at 12:30, due to rain we arrived at 11:30. Lorenzo welcomed us without any problem, and the aperitif began shortly thereafter. The food was delicious, from the appetizer, to the butter and sage ravioli, the wild boar pappardelle, and the roast meat. The woman who served us was also excellent; the plates were always clean and the cutlery was always changed. I RECOMMEND IT.

16/05/2026: We stopped by here by chance and were really surprised by this place. The food was truly excellent. The chicken al mattone and pork fillet were really good. The tiramisu was perfect. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take a photo because I'd already had a couple of spoonfuls.
