Here, mopping up the bread is a must. You have to go at least once in your life. The service is lightning-fast. Friendliness is the predominant characteristic. Authenticity is in the dishes. The refreshment is authentic because it resides within their historic walls. ❤️❤️❤️

Caterina, head waiter, excellent staff and exceptional food

The food is very honest, you can taste the ingredients are good quality and the pastas are simple so you can't hide anything. We enjoyed the meal and any shortcomings were due to our personal tastes rather than the food itself. The staff, especially Mimu, who served us for most of the evening, were very attentive and polite, not forcefull at all. Some small issues were that I shortened the "Crostata con ricotta e vischiole" to "Crostata con vischiole" (not in the menu) and I got it without ricotta, which was tasty but not what I wanted. If an item is in the kitchen but not on the menu, I expect the server to ask for confirmation. After we asked for a bill, it took over 15 minutes to arrive, we had to remind the staff. Then it turned out that we also got billed for the water we refused! Fortunately we noticed and they gave us back the money without question. Seems like everyone takes the water so they just assume it. Pity, the food was fantastic.

The first dinner of our stay in Rome had to be traditional Roman cuisine. The place is also easy to find, as it's close to a metro station. The dishes are all traditional, served in generous portions but still reasonably priced. We chose this place immediately because the chef had shown his version of carbonara on YouTube, which is indeed the best I've had in Rome.

These days, only a handful of things truly hit the spot for me. The food at Al Flavio's definitely did it! The Aubergine dish left was crazy good, and it's something I find myself reminiscing about every single day 🤭
