07/06/2026: Pleasant experience. Near the Trevi Fountain but away from the chaos. We ordered five different starters, all delicious. Excellent and fast service, Andrea very attentive and friendly. We'll gladly return. I recommend it.

26/07/2026: It’s a cozy and quaint spot for time with friends or family at a late dinner. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. While the food was impressive in presentation, I found the taste and quality to be middling, and the portion sizes are smaller than most similar new-style restaurants. The table bread, grouper, and duck didn’t quite meet expectations, though the side vegetables were quite flavorful. I think this location would be fit for having some wine and a snack.

17/07/2026: A now renowned trattoria, it has gone down in history thanks to its former owner, Sora Lella, who left a significant mark on the history of Roman cinema and dining. A fortunate place also for its location, which deserves to be known, but from a culinary standpoint, it has certainly lost some of its magic.

08/03/2026: Excellent quality ingredients. The menu doesn't offer a huge selection, as is appropriate for the quality and flavor of the dishes. In fact, all the dishes were delicious, like the stuffed guinea fowl, the endive, or the gricia with artichokes, while others were simply outstanding, like the roasted pumpkin. The place is very welcoming. Excellent, in fact, excellent.

11/08/2026: Very shocked and disappointed with the restaurant. We ordered tagliatelle with white sauce and shrimp. The receptionist, wearing red, initially greeted us warmly and showed us in, but upon receiving our order, it wasn't what we had ordered. Furthermore, the shrimp didn't smell good. When we mentioned this, we left the food; there was no effort made and no one wanted to listen to us. In addition, the staff was unpleasant and impolite. Not recommended.

10/08/2026: We've been here twice in a row and the contrast is incredible. The outside is absolutely stellar – the gentleman to the right of the bar shows off a true, unbridled Italian temperament. He talked five of us off the street with such charm that we went inside and didn't regret it – the food is great in terms of taste and price (compared to the Colombo hotel next door, absolutely top notch). ​But the service is even more disappointing. There are two waitresses and three guys hovering around the table (one of them was at least a little bit diligent), but the overall attitude is cold and lacking in spark. We don't know if it was because we were Czech, but the distance was also visible at the tables next to us. No recommendations, no active offer of dessert or coffee – just passive waiting for our order. ​It's a huge shame that a place with such food and a great outdoor entertainer is let down by lax service. If the gentleman served outside as well as inside, we'd leave at least twice as much money there

06/05/2026: I've always considered Il Matriciano a benchmark for traditional Roman cuisine. Iconic dishes, executed with great respect for tradition, a historic setting, and service generally worthy of its reputation. Precisely for this reason, however, tonight's experience was a huge disappointment. In a restaurant of this caliber, it's simply unacceptable not to offer gluten-free bread options for celiac customers. Today, this isn't a "special" request, but a widespread and well-known need, especially for a restaurant that strives to maintain high standards and attracts an international clientele. The cuisine may be excellent, but customer service is an integral part of the experience. And on this point, unfortunately, the restaurant is seriously lacking. One star, not for the quality of the dishes, but for a shortcoming that in 2026 is truly unforgivable.

06/08/2026: The owners run this restaurant with their whole hearts, and it's evident from the very first moment. I walked into this place expecting to eat something truly delicious and experience a true Italian atmosphere. The pizza was delicious – crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and bursting with flavor. The friendly service and family atmosphere make me want to come back. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian flavors!

05/08/2026: We went to this pizzeria almost at closing time, and yet all the staff were extremely kind and helpful. We ordered pizzas, which turned out to be truly delicious. It was a wonderful experience, and we were impressed by the friendliness and hospitality we received. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

21/07/2026: I didn’t eat here, so I’m not rating the food—only the service. I decided to stop and see if I wanted to eat there. A waiter from across the street called out to me, so I went inside hoping to get a table indoors. When the waiter finally came over, he told me I wasn’t allowed to sit inside. It was extremely hot because of the heat wave, but they still wouldn’t let customers sit indoors. Which is ridiculous! As I was leaving, he yelled something at me even though it was obvious I don’t speak the language.

16/07/2026: Having read some recent reviews I thought I'd post our experience back in October. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent. The brushetta was excellent and steak was cooked as ordered. The service was attentive and we were surrounded by lots of happy punters. Price wise it was very competitive and we left very satisfied.

06/06/2026: The food was good, the terrace was pleasant, and the overall experience was enjoyable, although the prices were a bit on the high side. What I did not appreciate was the discussion at the end of the meal regarding the tip. We were given to understand that adding a tip to the card payment was difficult and that it would be preferable to leave it separately. This led to an unnecessary and somewhat awkward conversation at the end of an otherwise pleasant meal.

14/05/2026: Kosher restaurant in the Jewish Quarter. There are 4 restaurants, dairy and meat separately. Yohanan hosted us generously, speaks Hebrew, the place has a pleasant atmosphere and the food is perfect. Highly recommend.

11/07/2026: I'd been wanting to check this off my bucket list for a while, and I took advantage of it. I went on a Saturday morning for breakfast. It had a unique neighborhood location and welcoming staff. You feel like a loyal customer after the first hello, and I think that really says a lot. For the food, I opted for a jam and almond fan. It looked beautiful and you could tell it was homemade, but I found it too dry for my taste. I have to be honest, after watching videos online and on social media, I had high hopes for the unusual offerings and quality. It didn't quite meet those expectations, but it still got a passing grade. I'll definitely give it a second chance 😊
