16/11/2025: I'm giving it an excellent review because I went there today with two friends and found it welcoming, with a nice atmosphere and an owner who was able to give us great advice on both food and wine. The only flaw is the bathroom, which isn't the cleanest, but that may not be due to the place itself but rather to the politeness of us patrons. Highly recommended! ❤️

21/09/2025: There's no need for many words to describe this place, which we've been enjoying frequenting for several years. Each visit is a unique experience, beginning in a welcoming and elegant setting, with attentive and friendly service, an excellent selection of wines and cellars that accompany authentic dishes that delight the eyes, mind, and taste buds to the point of inducing the natural and ancestral gesture of "scarpetta" (to mop up the bread), of course, using the delicious homemade bread. Then, we finish with wonderful desserts and excellent spirits. Congratulations to Rocco, Terry, and the entire staff.

03/11/2025: After two months of waiting, we finally went to lunch at the famous Il Capriccio restaurant. What a disappointment! The much-vaunted and highly praised tagliolini all'aragostella (lobster-like tagliolini) is nothing more than a mass of pasta with a questionable pulp (lobster?) mixed with a lot of cream. But can you serve a fish dish(?) with cream? An experience I'll never forget.

30/11/2025: We were extremely satisfied with the food!!! It was incredible. There was also no problem with splitting the bill into 8 separate parts, which is rare. Hidden gem in Bari !

09/11/2025: We had dinner at this great restaurant, inside because it was November, but the small terrace looked very nice. We opted for the classic, enormous T-bone steak, cooked to perfection, accompanied by a delicious local wine.

07/12/2025: Chosen from a thousand, we returned two nights out of two because everything was fantastic. Authentic, traditional food, and the staff are a shining example: young and attentive, loving, and kind. A must-visit for a relaxing stay in Bari Vecchia. 05/12/2025: The tasting menu is definitely worth the try as you get to experience a variety of flavours from the cold and hot dishes, and at a reasonable price. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Worth visiting if in Bari.

23/11/2025: NEVER AGAIN We had dinner with eight people at Osteria degli Spiriti, and the experience was completely unacceptable, absolutely forgettable, especially due to the terrible handling of the truffle. The final bill would have been justified if only they had shown us what truffle they were serving, how much they had grated on our plates, and at least informed us where it came from, considering the disproportionate price of each course. We found the truffle directly on the tagliolini, without seeing the piece or the weight: three dishes were overpriced, and one even more, with differences that could only make sense if you showed what you were selling! The same goes for the fried eggs with truffle: an insane price per dish, again without showing anything. A total lack of transparency. Plus, the service was incredibly long: seated at 9:00 PM, up at 12:30 AM. In return, we were treated to two cantucci each and a small piece of panettone, kindly offered by the house. Such a generous gesture that it (almost) made us forget the bill.

22/11/2025: We had a first course with ragù and meatballs (good), a classic dish with broad bean and chicory puree (excellent), and a fish main course, a very mediocre cod. This cod, in addition to being extremely salty, was immersed in a liter of cream (also extremely salty), which was not requested and not indicated on the menu, a serious matter precisely because the presence of so much lactose in a fish dish is not indicated. Instead of the rosemary potatoes as advertised, they served us a sort of puffed rice spread over this liter of cream, which they claimed was actually potatoes, but puffed. The price of the dishes is insane, unjustifiably high, and the portions are rather small.

24/11/2025: Between one visit and another, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The lady who served us was very kind. The service was very fast (upon our request). The orecchiette with turnip tops were superb! Naturally handmade.

06/12/2025: Small but cute and efficient place, quality food at an excellent price. The owner is welcoming, as is all the staff. Parking is available. Definitely worth a try.

09/11/2025: An unconventional osteria, striving for simplicity but with quality and attention to detail. Fresh, locally sourced, delicious food. The meats and vegetables are excellent, as are the pasta dishes. There's no menu, but that's fine because the recommendations are always excellent. The wine cellar is exceptional, with great wines and excellent options for every budget. A delightful discovery.

30/11/2025: Very welcoming restaurant...good, very home-made food

28/11/2025: Let's start with the assumption that I'm always in this area for work but I'd never been here. A WONDERFUL DISCOVERY! I entered the little restaurant and was immediately greeted by the waiter, who seated us and handed the floor to Mr. Peppino. The menu was listed in such detail that I still remember it. Everything was incredibly delicious... the freshest dishes I'd ever eaten anywhere in the world because they were handmade and featured everything the Murgia region has to offer this month! Something not to be underestimated: even though the place was almost full, we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for the appetizers to arrive (or cardoncelli mushrooms, I dreamed about them the next day)! The roast lamb that rounds it all off (I also tried my colleague's tagliata 😂) melted in my mouth! I RECOMMEND IT TO YOU; IN FACT, ALL 5 of us recommend it.

10/12/2025: My husband and I were there and he enjoyed his dish. Mine was too salty and I did not enjoy it. He paid the bill without paying much attention. When we returned to our room we looked at the bill and saw we were charged for 3 meals.

13/12/2025: AWFUL experience. The food was mediocre, but the real problem was the owner's rude, unbecoming attitude. We asked for olive oil to accompany our bread, but it had a musty, musty odor (I can't tell if it was the oil itself or the container it was stored in). I believe the same oil had been used in the pasta dishes, which, as a result, had a stale aftertaste and were extremely heavy. We politely pointed this out to the owner, who, for her part, immediately reacted by raising her voice and literally RUNNING AWAY, without even letting us finish speaking. After that, all the usual customary behavior typical of any self-respecting restaurant (of any caliber)—namely, asking if we wanted anything else or if we wanted a coffee (which was even offered at checkout at the table in front of us)—magically vanished. Treat yourself with condescension and contempt, and it's even more intolerable when a customer points out (politely) that something went wrong. NEVER AGAIN. STAY AWAY.
