03/04/2024: I honestly wonder why the reviews are so high - it is a just a typical tourist trap with horrible food and long waiting lines. Avoid, it is the worst place I have visited while in Puglia. Nothing positive to add.

16/03/2024: I went to this restaurant today for lunch which was recommended to me by a friend...the adjective Superlative is the minimum...the place is beautiful and attention has been paid to the smallest details...the food is of excellent quality, ingredients delicious and fresh. The wait was filled with some excellent tastings offered by the house. The owner/waiter was very kind and courteous...! What else to add...simply wonderful!

05/11/2023: Dopo diversi anni siamo ritornati in questo ristorante che ci ha sempre sorpreso positivamente. I piatti assaggiati, sempre ottimi e ben presentati, in questa cornice unica ed estremamente accattivante, hanno reso piacevole anche questa esperienza culinaria. Il servizio sembra leggermente peggiorato e meno attento alle esigenze dei clienti. Ritorneremo presto.....spero!

Additionally a very pleasant environment with a lovely small inside yard, an interesting wine list and a hospitable owner. Special mention to the mature gentleman that was serving our table. You have to visit Racale, only for the shake of this restaurant.

Honorable applause for the mussels au gratin and the horse meat rolls with sauce. Super positive experience!

We order a house appetizer, three first courses, meatballs. the appetizers, among the various courses, a small plate arrives with some shrimps which the smell of decomposition could be felt immediately. The friends taste it and the Scanzano, without telling me anything probably so as not to make me feel bad, I take the saucer and smell it as I swallow the morsel, I wonder how a chef can not feel and not control what he brings to the table. A dish arrives with ricotta pesto, hazelnuts, mushrooms and capocollo, this time too the smell was clearly rancid... They taste a very small bite, as it was my dish, I take a bite, thinking it was the smell some shrimp and I eat it, (I wanted to spit it out) I swallowed it... It made me sick, at that point I was careful about those two dishes, I called and said to take them away immediately! Obviously the gentlemen clearly knew what they had brought, it didn't take a Chef to figure it out! This thing is very serious! The two boys were ill but not seriously (I remember that the girl was seven months pregnant! And they had no conscience in bringing clearly spoiled dishes to the table! UNACCEPTABLE!) feeling sick at night, WITH NAUSEA AND DYSENTERY, while I still have a fever of 39 and 3 I had spasms, pain in the eyes and bones, fortunately my husband is a DOCTOR and recognized the intoxication immediately, I'm still sick! (it doesn't matter that the dish has been deducted from the cost). fortunately I told the boys not to eat them and I sent him back, even though we ate a Modica quantity, he did all this damage! but you can really risk hepatitis because he has to earn 10! 29/03/2024: Unfortunately, the biggest culinary disappointment from our short stay in Monopoli and the surrounding area. The other places were great or very good. Tempted by good ratings on Google Maps and the recommendation of our hostess, we went to dinner at Ii Guazzetto. Service: sitting down at the table, we ordered sparkling water, unfortunately we received water without carbonation and it took us a very long time to get the attention of any waiter to change the water. After taking the order, the waiter asked us to change the table and move to a much less pleasant place. After waiting for the oysters I ordered as an appetizer, I learned that they no longer had them, although they continued to distribute cold appetizers containing oysters around the restaurant for a long time. The waiters were absent most of the time when we expected their interest. Food: The flagship dish I ordered was Il Guazzetto Zuppa do Pesce - the taste was correct, tomato-fishy, ​​but without any particular note worth remembering. (I often order it in different places, so I can compare it a lot). The disappointment was the size of the shrimps and other crustaceans in the soup - especially compared to the photo on the website. Maneuvering inside them to extract the contents required not a fork but some kind of microsurgery tool! Fried cod in batter is served with sweet and sour Asian sauce - it looks like it's ready from the bottle. The only thing that stood out was the grilled shrimps ordered by my husband - they were very tasty. However, after a series of failures, his vigilance was reduced and he decided to have dessert. Crema catalana, which should be at room temperature in a compact consistency - only burnt with a blowtorch from above to break through the crust with a spoon, had a boiling point and a flowing consistency (heated completely before serving?) and the outer layer immediately stuck to the entire surface. teaspoons. We won't come back.

17/03/2024: Super mega hyper unfriendly staff. We arrived before 12:30 and were told that EVERYTHING was booked except for 4 tables outside and the service would start at 12:30... It started at 12:40, the food was good but not soooo good, with good will : it was normal. Everything came without salt, no one was there to help, waiters only went outside to smoke. I had to go into the restaurant to ask for salt, I found 3 waitresses laughing and talking and surprise: not even half of the tables were occupied... Another revolting thing: THE SHRIMP COMES DIRTY WITH THE GUTS, HEAD AND EVERYTHING DISGUSTING that comes with it... . So Brazilians, think carefully about whether it's worth leaving your rich euros in a place that mistreats tourists and serves dirty shrimp...

We didn't have much: a round of small samples (a bit of ham, a spoonful of ricotta, two petttlecocks, a bit of chicory with broad beans, a small jar of cod mousse), a first or second course, two bottles of wine (not a supertuscans) and dessert; portions not generous (but fair).........total (lump sum) €35 each. I would say a little expensive!! Then, too much confusion (we couldn't even hear our own voices) and a slightly dark environment. Dimly lit table (I want to see on the plate!).

27/04/2024: Cucina troppo piccola per il numero di tavoli delle sale e 3 camerieri che correvano in tutte le direzioni (ma avendo 3 sale non è meglio dedicarne uno per sala?) e questo ha generato forti ritardi (antipasto servito 55 minuti dopo essere entrati a locale pieno a metà. I piatti sono ottimi peccato per il ritardo nel servire. Da segnalare o troccoli con cicale di mare. Lista vini adeguata, prezzi in generale corretti e nella fascia medio alta.

26/04/2024: Siamo andati attratti da buone recensioni.Purtroppo serata negativa.Anche se avevamo prenotato con largo anticipo,senza chiederci nulla,siamo stati sistemati a ridosso di una fredda veranda.Cibo da scarsa trattoria,porzioni scarse e peraltro quasi fredde.Riso patate cozze e fave cicoria peggiori mai mangiati.Spero sia solo stata una serata storta….detto da un ex ristoratore…

Perfectly cooked, balanced flavours... I really hope to return very soon. Last, not least, the kindness and courtesy of all the staff. Personally, I recommend not to miss the Podolica tartare and the starter with burrata, unsurpassed! You really can't pass through Ostuni without stopping there!
