15/02/2026: Nice place, much below expectations, well-kept but poorly lit, we took a plate of French fries, second-rate ketchup and mayonnaise, a spray bottle to sanitize the tables placed on the container where they place the salt and pepper, at the end the bill was too salty, much above expectations, 3 pizzas, 3 medium beers and 2 small beers on tap, 1 chip, 2 grappas (18.00), 4 covers (12.00), so 100.00 is too much in my opinion.

26/09/2025: Calling it a restaurant is an understatement: it's simply beautiful and unexpected. You'd never expect the beauty and attention to detail I found on Tuesday evening in this sprawling establishment. The same attention to detail is evident in the food and service, which are excellent, excellent, excellent, if not excellent. It's a given that I'll be returning even though I'm 1,100 km away. Thank you and sincere compliments.

25/09/2025: After a year, I returned to this charming, historic restaurant, composed of many small rooms, but I was disappointed. The traditional Salento cuisine, once of a notable standard, has unfortunately declined in both quality and presentation. All the appetizers were mediocre, the first courses, including the maritati, were decent, and the guaccetto was exceptional. The desserts were good, and the recommended wine was mediocre. The service was friendly but confused and unprofessional. The price was high for the quality of the food.

03/11/2025: After two months of waiting, we finally went to lunch at the famous Il Capriccio restaurant. What a disappointment! The much-vaunted and highly praised tagliolini all'aragostella (lobster-like tagliolini) is nothing more than a mass of pasta with a questionable pulp (lobster?) mixed with a lot of cream. But can you serve a fish dish(?) with cream? An experience I'll never forget.

23/01/2026: I went here with my boyfriend on New Year's Eve. There's no fixed New Year's Eve menu; we ordered what we liked from the menu and everything was delicious. The veal rolls with tomato sauce reminded me of Sunday lunches at my grandmother's. Celebrating New Year's Eve at 'Scante was like celebrating at home, thanks to the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, the extremely kind and friendly staff, and the authentic flavors of our region. Highly recommended!

18/02/2026: Excellent restaurant, equivalent to a two-star establishment in France in my opinion, at a very reasonable price considering the quality of the ingredients. Everything was delicious and prepared with care. Note that there are only a few tables available.

18/02/2026: Off-season (February), the welcome was very friendly, the service quick and efficient, the food excellent (pork knuckle, cuttlefish, lamb, or spaghetti—all perfect), the menu concise with a limited selection of dishes, which is a guarantee of quality, very few tables, and an old-fashioned decor under a stone vaulted ceiling—we were delighted. And to top it all off, a very well-stocked whisky cellar!

24/02/2026: We waited an hour longer than our scheduled time. They seated us next to the entrance door, and it goes without saying that the situation inside and outside hadn't changed... it was freezing. I asked the waiter to move us, and he obliged with some difficulty. The food wasn't anything spectacular; in fact, I was very disappointed. Of everything we ordered, the only thing I truly enjoyed was the sausage in tomato sauce and the excellent ricotta with jam; the rest was flavorless tagliolini, with two scampi, and the rest were shrimp... I hope they improve.

17/02/2026: This was my first time at this restaurant for dinner, and I brought some friends and locals to this simple, historic, but charming and comfortable place. We ordered a sampling of various appetizers, typical of southern Puglia, the traditional home-style cuisine of Salento, from octopus with burrata to burrata with sardines, and other appetizers, all delicious, flavorful, and very inviting. Then we had a first course of orecchiette and a type of pasta similar to elongated trofie with mini meatballs in tomato sauce—an excellent dish for connoisseurs of Puglian cuisine. Then we had a puree of broad beans with chicory. We drank a very good Puglian rosé wine. The restaurant has an excellent large cellar of local and national wines. The young staff who served us was very knowledgeable and courteous. Highly recommended for connoisseurs of the cuisine of this wonderful Italy, in every region the true richness of this nation. Congratulations!

16/01/2026: In the heart of the ancient village of Altamura, there is a precious place that encapsulates the history of Puglia's food and wine tradition, and in particular the "AltaMurgiana" region. Typical and authentic dishes are served and explained with expert care. We were welcomed with great warmth and "pampered" from the appetizers to the homemade desserts. Each dish, prepared with love, expresses all the experience and infinite passion of Mr. Peppino and his wife Irene. Dining at CENZINO is not only a delicious experience, but also a cultural one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

10/03/2026: Three of us had dinner here by chance, having asked a passerby for something traditional. Enzo was number one, he should be the mayor of Bari!! The staff makes you feel at home, the traditional dishes are fantastic, the bombette in particular melted in your mouth.

06/03/2026: Rather than the tavern of the harpies it should have been called the tavern of robberies... paying for two plates of orecchiette with sauce 40 euros... which honestly I cook better at home not even handmade they seemed cooked in the microwave despite the fact that we are in Bari and orecchiette should be a cheap dish but these were orecchiette from the supermarket... so 2 plates of orecchiette a cheese board only including three mozzarella balls and there were two of us two glasses of wine 81 euros and I didn't have the euro I was asked explicitly to say we have to rip you off completely... maybe they thought we were Americans given my wife's blond hair but we are from Taranto who honestly even if criticized with 81 euros the whole family eats better and without robberies

Authentic, traditional food, and the staff are a shining example: young and attentive, loving, and kind. A must-visit for a relaxing stay in Bari Vecchia. 05/12/2025: The tasting menu is definitely worth the try as you get to experience a variety of flavours from the cold and hot dishes, and at a reasonable price. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Worth visiting if in Bari.
