15/11/2025: Even though the atmosphere and food are decidedly beautiful and delicious, the fact that they have two shifts and the anxiety and apprehension they cause the first-shift customers is completely disconcerting. An anniversary or a simple evening with friends cannot be celebrated. Eating is too rushed. This rule needs to be reviewed and, above all, we need to remember that we are restaurateurs and not a fast food restaurant. I don't think I'll be back for dinner.

08/12/2025: I think the place is good for pizza. I ordered a beef steak. For the first time in my life, I sent my food back. Luckily, I didn't have to pay for it. I wouldn't recommend ordering an appetizer either. The fish is supposed to be good.

The pinza (we tried four different ones) had a good dough, but lacked toppings and were therefore dry.

11/04/2026: The 3 stars are just for being "in the middle of the sea"! On Easter Monday 🌞 at 6:15 PM we couldn't get a coffee because "we were cleaning the car"! I had a bar in a big city, and despite the extra work, the car was cleaned in the evening, after closing! We were also told, kindly, that we wouldn't be able to drink it anyway since we'd asked for decaf and they'd run out! Now, I could understand at the end of the season, but on Easter Monday??? We'll be back because Lignano is really well-kept and the bar is beautiful!!! ... Let's hope things go better 😉

La Locanda di Cosenza is one of those rare places where everything works: the food is always fresh, the meat is top-notch, and the pasta dishes won us over from the first few visits. Yesterday, the gnocchi with meat sauce were something special—the flavor of homemade gnocchi, just like my grandmother used to make. This is what it means to truly eat well. 29/09/2025: The "Vecchia Guardia" restaurant clearly aspires to a luxury category, but it is light years away from understanding the fundamental needs of its guests. Our dinner experience for four on August 21, 2025, was a complete failure, especially regarding food allergies. Lack of Seriousness about "Gluten Free" We booked specifically because the website guaranteed availability for allergens, including gluten-free. Once seated, the unpleasant surprise: my wife, a celiac, was categorically denied any dish, including a simple slice of grilled meat. The only option was bottled water! This isn't "willingness to accommodate any need," but a clear example of misleading advertising aimed solely at attracting customers. Small Portions and Mediocre Quality The dishes were somewhere between meager and mediocre, with a presentation that was meant to mimic that of a "starred chef," but I'll leave you to imagine... with a quality that was, let's say, mediocre. The small quantity is unacceptable unless supported by an excellence that was totally absent here. The Bill: The Height of Negligence The highlight was the bill. Not only did they add a cover charge to my wife, who, through their negligence, was unable to eat anything, but, even more seriously, they included two dishes that were never served due to a clear oversight in the service. We had to point out the error to the waiter (who crossed out the amounts) and then again to the cashier, where the person in charge had not yet crossed out the missing side dishes, leaving the restaurant at 10:33 PM after the complaint. Disconcerting Service Finally, the service was disconcerting to say the least. The waiters and the lady kept bringing bread and other gluten-containing dishes right in front of my celiac wife. This is a total lack of care and professionalism, especially after being informed of her celiac disease. To describe the experience as "disappointing" is an understatement. It was unacceptable. I hope anyone reading this review will appreciate how carelessly this restaurant handles its promises and the basic needs of its customers.

The value for money was excellent. We absolutely recommend it! If we ever find ourselves here on vacation, we'll be back! Thank you for the quality of the food and your professionalism!

20/08/2025: As I always say, the restaurant managers make the place beautiful first and foremost, but each of us has different opinions about the beauty of the place. Excellent location, quiet place, super excellent staff, satisfying food, normal wait times, and above all excellent prices. A well-deserved 5 stars overall.
