Calling it a trattoria is a bit of an understatement; many restaurants need to come here to learn how to serve, cook, and charge. The dishes were authentic and delicious; we had an appetizer and a first course, plus two beers and coffees, for just €17 each. Coming back from a bike ride in the Pollino Mountains, where everything was packed, this strategically located trattoria literally saved us! Highly recommended!

24/02/2026: This bakery represents the history of the city of Matera. I've personally had the opportunity to try numerous types of focaccia barese, which has its roots in the Bari Vecchia district. I can rightfully say that Paoluccio surpasses, albeit just barely, even the famous bakeries of Bari. The location of the business makes it easy to stroll among the wonders of the capital of rural civilization, with a fragrant piece of focaccia in hand. We highly recommend tasting the authentic Pane di Matera, an ancient product that is very different from the more commercialized Pane di Altamura PGI. A shout-out to those who continue the traditions.
