20/03/2026: If you want an appetizer with the flavors of the Murgia region, this is the place for you. Limited selection, but carefully selected. Reservations are required, located on one of Matera's main streets. The pizza is excellent. I'll give it a 5-star rating when I try the first courses, because I'll definitely be back.

15/07/2025: Personnel très sympathique. La vue est sublime et le cadre est très agréable. L’huile d’olive est excellente et avec le pain c’est très doux. Aucune faute, tout est parfait ! Ils ont tous les codes de la restauration. Nous vous recommandons spécialement la viande, qui à notre avis est une grande spécialité de cet endroit. Elle est tendre et très goûteuse. On a adoré ! Les pâtes ont un côté plus recherché et innovant. La carte des vins est surprenante, n’hésitez pas à en prendre. Bref, un très bon moment passé en famille. Nous reviendrons sans problème.

19/03/2026: We visited this restaurant three times during our stay in Matera. Impeccable service, an extensive wine list, standard wait times, and above all, the food was exceptionally good! Thank you. A small clarification: on the evening mentioned in the previous review, we were present, and things didn't go as the gentleman described. I don't want to go into details, but one thing is certain: he shouldn't allow himself to be reviewed just out of spite!

24/08/2025: Spectacular cocktails served by a renowned bartender. Beautiful, welcoming venue with good music. The staff was truly kind and welcoming! We often return when we're on vacation in Basilicata. We've always had divine food, especially the meat, from the tagliata to the local sausage. The burgers are excellent.

24/08/2025: Fabulous location nestled in the ancient village of Laurenzana. Welcoming staff, making us feel right at home. I celebrated my little one's baptism there, and what can I say? Everything was magically beautiful, which is why we always pop in whenever I'm in my hometown. Thanks to the owners, Luana and Pietro, who are always ready to accommodate any request.

11/10/2025: We stayed at Borgo la Tana during the two central weeks of August. The property is beautiful, with well-kept gardens and spacious rooms—ours, a mini-apartment—with a small table and chairs outside to enjoy the cool evening breeze. The rooms are extremely clean and practical, equipped with drying racks, handy soap dispensers for both shower and hand soap, and a wall-mounted hairdryer. The entire staff was very friendly, from the cleaning ladies, always ready with a smile and ready to "fix" the mess on the beach, like sand and pebbles everywhere, to the waiters, who were also present but not pushy. The cuisine is varied, with both local and non-local meat and fish dishes, and there is a discreet and efficient restaurant manager who oversees the main meals. The property's true treasure, however, is Mr. Aldo, a man in love with his homeland, provided us with information on the main beaches to visit and any special offers available at the resorts, right from the first evening. He also provided pocket-sized brochures to take with us to reach our desired destinations. Finally, a special mention for the self-service breakfast we enjoyed every morning: homemade cakes, traditional pastries, fresh figs picked every morning, and honeycomb! 23/09/2025: We arrived as guests for a few nights. The rooms were excellent, clean, and the air conditioning worked well. On the first evening, we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. It was tidy and the service very friendly. For us, it was very bright, which perhaps made the atmosphere a little less romantic. You can clearly see what you're eating. Both the tuna and the swordfish were overcooked and dry, but that might be due to the Southern Italian way of preparing them. For hotel guests, there's a breakfast buffet next to the pool. When we arrived, we thought it was a sandwich shop, but you can point to what you want and it's brought to you. Again, the service was very friendly. Swimming caps were required for the pool, an old Italian tradition we've encountered less and less frequently, this year only at Borgo La Tana.

07/01/2026: Highly recommended, lunch on January 5th was excellent. I highly recommend it. They didn't give us a menu with prices, but we had no unpleasant surprises; the quality of the food and service was excellent for the price. Thanks to the owner for the orecchiette pasta made for our baby, they were truly delicious. The ravioli with creamed peppers were delicious, and the cod was delicious, with a very balanced flavor and fennel sauce. Go there, it's top-notch cuisine!

28/12/2025: I'd love to tell you how the food is, but we couldn't even get in...even though the place was completely empty, the owner was getting ready to smoke a cigarette, and the waiters were all folded...it was completely booked! You wouldn't think they have a welcoming attitude!

23/11/2025: Excellent hospitality, the owners Mimmo and his wife, who is also the chef, are unique. You feel at home, pampered and advised on everything—the cuisine, itineraries, and local customs—as if you were a lifelong friend. The cleanliness and order of the property and the rooms are impeccable. The bedroom with ensuite bathroom is bright, with every comfort you could need, well-furnished and airy, and offers an unforgettable view of the garden. The guest parking is very large and well-maintained; I was on a motorbike, and they let me park my vehicle in a private, covered area, something few do. The outdoor spaces are well-maintained and clean, and the vast gardens offer unique views. The food is indescribable; you absolutely have to try it: homemade pasta made by the wife and her son, using local products of their own production, exquisite guanciale, delicious desserts made by the son, and it deserves its stars because when you eat, you feel like you're in heaven. The service is attentive and perfect. What more can I say? Come and try it, you'll be amazed. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Sergio

18/01/2026: I travel often in the area, and Scanzano often offers coffee shops near the entrances. I stopped by chance and found excellent coffee and delicious croissants, even having a honey dispenser instead of sugar at the counter. Well done...

14/03/2026: Delicious food! And the owner is a true gem. When you're treated to such hospitality, everything tastes better (though the food here was truly outstanding), and somehow the whole experience is more enjoyable :)

10/11/2025: Hidden gem outside the tourist part of Matera. Great pizza, very friendly staff, typical familly owned business place we love to go. They dont speak English but the menu is in English so no problem. Dont expect a francy restaurant but if you want good pizza and nice place to spend the evening this is it. Price of a normal pizza is 9 Euro and 18 for the big one. We also received free desert and a local drink. We will be back on our next Matera trip

12/03/2026: While in Potenza for work, a friend took me to Tiri, telling me I absolutely had to try it. The very kind Marianna (I hope I remember her name) suggested what I should try, and when I asked her what I absolutely had to take home, she immediately recommended the "Salted Caramel Pan Bauletto." I couldn't have made a more perfect suggestion!!! Delicious, I finished it all in one day! I'll be back in Potenza often, and Tiri will always be a must-try! See you soon ;-)

20/08/2025: A truly lovely place with friendly and welcoming staff. My wife and I were there for three nights and had the pleasure of experiencing three different musical evenings, all united by the fun everyone had. The cocktails and beers were good, with a wide selection, but the team, Francesco in particular, made the difference. See you next time and we'll also try the food, since we always arrived after dinner. Thanks for your hospitality.
