03/05/2025: An experience that teaches how much the way we feel welcomed matters. Saturday evening, 7.30pm. A friend and I enter the Ducale Ristorante & Pizzeria in Irsina, we smile, we greet with a simple and genuine "Good evening". The answer? A dry, cold and almost aggressive "Say!", pronounced by a man behind the counter, as if our greeting were an annoyance and not an act of education. We ask: “A table for two, please.” Without really looking at us, he replies icily: “At 8pm.” And he sends us away. In that moment, more than rejected, we felt invisible. The "no" is not the problem. It's as they say. It is the absence of empathy, of respect, of minimal human hospitality. The mind records these experiences more than one imagines: a door that closes, a wrong tone, one gesture too many can leave their mark. Yet, it was 7.30pm, and Google clearly indicates that the place is open from 6.30pm to 12am. The refusal was not justified by any rule, but only by an attitude. Welcoming isn't just serving food, it's creating connections. It's about making people feel welcome. And in this, unfortunately, the Ducale failed completely.

05/08/2024: I decided and completed my son's eighteenth birthday with satisfaction! The location is beautiful and the party took place by the pool. The atmosphere is very elegant and refined. The dinner was excellent, with the utmost satisfaction of all the guests. The waiters were very helpful, especially Michele, who was very friendly and had an extremely kind manner! I thank all the staff for making my son's party possible, which was a success. I recommend the Selva Piana farmhouse!

04/08/2024: We celebrated an 18th birthday. I can't complain about the waiters who were excellent, but the owner was a complainer and rude to the point of complaining even about a drop of wine falling on the floor. I wouldn't prefer it for anything else.

18/05/2025: We stopped for breakfast. At 9 in the morning it would be nice to see a smile instead of a poor good morning. Litter on the floor from the counter and overflowing full bins. Low quality frozen croissants. The coffee is okay. Too bad! Poor value for money.

21/04/2025: We went today on Easter Monday, what can I say, a very nice place, polite, friendly and helpful staff, excellent quality food, not the usual farmhouse food with an excellent price. We are happy to return, see you soon

21/12/2024: per essere a dicembre ed in una località non molto movida di inverno, siamo piacevolmente rimasti sorpresi. Abbiamo pasteggiato con antipasti di pesce COTTI E CRUDI. spigola al sale con contorni, Guazzetto di vongole e tartare di tonno veramente super. frittura e tentacolo polpo grigliato Qualità è soddisfare le necessità del cliente e superare le sue stesse aspettative continuando a migliorarsi. 20/05/2025: We ate well, May 2025 Ordered pasta with kruski... arrived a mappazza with burnt kruski peppers, an unimaginable amount of breadcrumbs, everything nice and solidified, inedible, when the owner kindly asked me the reason why I had not eaten and I kindly gave him my reasons.... he turned nervously and went away, presenting me with the bill in full. I'm sorry but the harmony with the customer has been lost which is unfortunate. Reply... (Thank you for your excellent availability towards the customer.)

07/05/2025: Sehr schönes Restaurant im Natursteingewölbe. Freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Die Speisekarte ist klein , aber gediegen. Wir haben den Abend genossen.

26/04/2025: Ristrutturato con grande successo, il complesso di Aquatio é veramente bello ed accogliente…..tuttavia il servizio (vino versato macchiando tovaglia, impossibilità di cambiar tavolo, etc) ed i piatti non sono ancora all’altezza. Da migliorare! To be improved!

24/11/2024: Eccezionale. Cucina sublime. Tonio, lo chef, è davvero un professionista ai fornelli (a Melfi è sicuramente, di gran lunga, il migliore). Ristorante idoneo per tutte le esigenze della famiglia, o serate con amici, o pranzi di lavoro. Prodotti ottimi e freschissimi (nulla di surgelato, neanche le cotolette per i ragazzi, come spesso ci capita altrove). La cortesia e gentilezza di Manola, tra l'altro, sono esemplari. Sono anni che frequento questo locale, con la famiglia, amici o per affari, e non ha mai deluso, anzi con gli anni migliora di continuo. Rapporto qualità - prezzo decisamente ottimo. Favoloso. Da consigliare assolutamente.
