30/12/2025: We chose this restaurant on a beautiful Sunday in November, inspired by the numerous positive reviews, and I must say we were completely satisfied! We sat in the second room, more modern and welcoming than the entrance, and immediately appreciated the elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere and the kindness of the staff. Pappardelle with wild boar ragù, fried porcini mushrooms, a delicious roasted porcini mushroom cap, and the inevitable steak! A good red wine accompanied it, and a cream-filled millefeuille for dessert. What can I say... it was an absolutely satisfying lunch. We waited a bit for the meat, probably because the place was crowded, but it was absolutely worth it: quality produce, cooked properly, and beautifully presented... Excellent! The pappardelle with wild boar thrilled the kids, and the mushrooms were the icing on the cake of a lunch that simply leaves you wanting more. Considering the quality of the product, the bill seemed fair for what we ordered. Parking might be a bit difficult along the road that runs through this small corner of Nievole; I'd recommend arriving 10 minutes before rush hour. Otherwise, "Il Pellegrino" keeps all its promises and offers customers a totally positive experience! Top marks!

27/12/2025: Truly excellent, we'd been there several years ago, always top notch. The appetizers were amazing, the pappardelle with wild boar was excellent, and the carbon cake was delicious. The carbon placemat was cute.

01/01/2026: In the magical village of Volpaia, the Osteria offers a refined and elegant atmosphere, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and dishes that showcase local ingredients with a delicately exotic touch that will surprise you. Last but not least, our two dogs were welcomed with joy. We'll definitely be back. Well done, Filippo and Martina!

29/12/2025: Highly recommended. The dishes are exceptional, and you can immediately see the attention to detail (as well as a lot of passion). Bonus: pet-friendly! Our dog, Barolo, was treated like a true prince. If you can, stop by and try the pumpkin buttons!

20/01/2026: The place looks awful, and that's part of the charm. Lots of Italians when I was there, which is always a good sign. I had two really delicious sandwiches. The man behind the counter was very friendly when I tried my best Italian, but I also heard him patiently explain everything in English. I think I'll go back tomorrow.

17/01/2026: Super-delicious and authentic lampredotto, just like it used to be. A simple, no-frills place that still has a Florentine feel, even in the city center. Reasonable prices and a local-friendly atmosphere. A must-try, whether you're a tourist or a local.

02/01/2026: The food is good but VERY expensive for the type of food and the quantity. We spent 160€ total for 4. Only fix menu: the cheapest was 30€ each which included 1 small appetizer, 1 small entrée, 1 desert and coffee. Wine and water are extra. They charged 10€ for portion of penne pasta with olive oil for a kid. Service was average. UPDATE After receiving a “like” on my review, which suggests that other clients share similar feelings, I feel compelled to update it. After reading your reply, I am also compelled to remove additional stars. I expressed a personal opinion about pricing and service, which I am fully entitled to do as a customer. Your response, however, was unnecessarily aggressive, condescending, and disrespectful — not only toward me, but, judging from other replies, toward other clients as well. For someone who presents themselves as promoting good food, good times, and hospitality, your tone communicates something very different. And to be clear: we were not “friends.” I was a paying customer. In that moment, you were providing a service — nothing more, nothing less. Courtesy and professionalism should apply regardless of whether a client agrees with you or not. Criticism can be discussed; rudeness cannot be justified.

29/12/2025: A delightful discovery! We started with a platter of Chiusdino cured meats as an appetizer: excellent quality cured meats, perfectly flavored, fresh, and accompanied by delicious cave cheese. A true delight to fill your stomach. For our second course, we chose wild boar creamed in Chianti, a typical dish executed to perfection: the meat was incredibly tender, the sauce rich and fragrant, with that intense, enveloping flavor that only slow cooking can provide. A generous portion and meticulous presentation. All accompanied by a simply excellent red wine (Rogaio): balanced and perfect with the dishes. Friendly and attentive service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Fair prices for the quality offered. We will definitely be back, highly recommended for those who love authentic Tuscan cuisine! Thanks for a wonderful day!!

27/12/2025: We had lunch here during a short visit to Volterra. We ordered two appetizers and a 1.5 kg Florentine steak, carefully displayed before cooking and served with a side of baked potatoes and delicious spinach. The service began with a small welcome appetizer: a crostini with caramelized onions and confit tomatoes. We stayed full until breakfast the next day. The prices were reasonable for the service and food, especially recommended for a lunch or dinner for two. The staff were very courteous and attentive.

04/12/2025: A carefully renovated old farmhouse in an easy-to-reach location, framed by a stream and bamboo canes, the atmosphere is so familiar it feels like home. The staff is attentive and friendly, ready to fulfill any wish. The food is truly exquisite, top-quality, expertly prepared. The wines are truly excellent, as is the bill. Try it and let me know. 17/10/2025: Terrific restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food. The menu is handwritten and the interior very rustic. Food was extremely tasty but limited options for vegetarians but the ravioli was delicious. They specialise in tripe but plenty of other options.

13/10/2025: The best food in Florence 😍😍 I loved the pastas and the unmistakable flavor of the ciabatta! I'll be back again and I give it a 10/10 for everyone's service, especially Alecio, who kindly welcomed us like tourists. Our recommended order: Tortelli di patate al ragú and Ravioli burro e sage. We ordered both and loved them!
