11/05/2026: Paniga Gourmet restaurant is always a guarantee. I went there for my wedding over twenty years ago, and have been back as a guest on more than one occasion, most recently this year for my daughter's confirmation. Despite the change in management, the quality of service hasn't changed. They're very accommodating, and the menus are excellent, both the more extensive and the more modest ones. The wait staff is highly trained and can handle allergies well. The environment is clean and tidy, easily accessible even for guests with disabilities. Highly recommended.

01/06/2026: A triumph of flavors that captivates the palate. A view that will make you dream. I am severely gluten intolerant. The kitchen takes the utmost care in selecting ingredients, offering alternatives designed for every nutritional need and intolerance, without ever sacrificing taste.

27/05/2026: The view is breathtaking, overlooking the magnificent and peaceful Piedmont landscape. The Langhe specialties are refined and delicious. The plins are truly incredible and burst with flavor, the veal in a royal sauce is superb, and the tiramisu is to die for. The value for money is unbeatable. 26/04/2026: The first courses were good and well-balanced in flavor (gnocchi and tagliatelle); unfortunately, the breaded mushrooms were soaked in oil. The bunet was good, even if served a little cold.

12/04/2026: The meat is very good, with a wide selection of cuts, and the risotto is delicious. Excellent local red beer.

Today, his 23-year-old grandson has already designed the winery you're visiting, and he cooks with the energy and cultural clarity of his home, having gained significant experience at the Mudec in Milan, one of Italy's international cultural centers. Lower Monferrato. Varengo, a hamlet of Gabiano. Hillside. A rare example of "family style and culture" that knows how to create refined cuisine. Perfect portions. A small wine cellar, but a place for meditation and a delight for the senses. The restaurant is by reservation only—or rather, "reservation"—and offers a highly personalized menu based on guest requests. The menu changes every three months. Refined local ingredients are used, including meat. Whipped maple butter, homemade bread, pretzels, spreadable gorgonzola, and the boiled meats with green sauce in a Chinese ravioli set us on a path to dinner. Innovative appetizers, and the first course, a beetroot and gorgonzola risotto, with rare flavor and balance. The second course's tender and flavorful diaphragm cooked on a silken potato. A genuine, artisanal, unfiltered Grignolino. A Catalan cream with a surprising flavor and color.

07/02/2026: Excellent Piedmontese cuisine, a welcoming place, and friendly staff. We made a bit of a fuss with the kids, but the staff was patient!

01/04/2026: Chosen for a quick lunch on the highway as an alternative to the service station, the 13.50 menu includes a first course, second course, side dish, and water, but they also offer smaller options. Carefully prepared food, generous portions, super-fair prices, and record-breaking service. Excellent!

12/04/2026: The pizza is very good. The place is a bit old-fashioned. We went on a Saturday night; it was packed, and we had a bit of a wait for our pizzas, but it was worth it.

13/04/2026: The price-performance ratio is unacceptable here. It starts with the cover charge of €4 (!) for half a glass of sparkling wine and a bread roll. We ordered two T-bone steaks, both of which were served almost raw without any prior consultation. We sent them both back and received them again cooked medium. At 10 p.m., they simply turned on the heating and opened the door. Several things don't justify these very high prices. We certainly won't be coming back.

01/06/2026: I'd like to share my thoughts on the dinner served on the Ristotram on Saturday, May 30th. Nothing to complain about the food, the service was polite, friendly, and not at all intrusive. The historic tram obviously doesn't have air conditioning, but it does have small fans. The route taken, due to various events in Turin, was very disappointing for us Turin residents, and I imagine for tourists. Some background music wouldn't hurt.

08/05/2026: I booked dinner on the Cibo tram. I thought they'd give us a brief description of the places we passed, but instead, nothing. The appetizers were good, but the first and second courses were decidedly poor...

17/04/2026: Fantastic stay at Auberge La Ripa! A warm welcome, even though it was late. The room had a view of the lake and the Borromean Islands, which wasn't originally planned. 12/04/2026: We stayed with our dog over the Easter weekend at this beautiful hotel, just steps from the center of Baveno. It retains all its early 1900s charm with period furniture. The tastefully furnished rooms feature balconies overlooking the internal garden and a splendid view of the Borromean Islands. The hotel has a lovely garden with a terrace equipped with tables and umbrellas overlooking the private beach below. What more can I say? It's beautiful. Mrs. Paola is a wonderful hostess, very kind and helpful, and upon our arrival she unexpectedly upgraded our room to a larger one with a lake view. I hope to return soon.
