09/04/2026: I found a specific bottle of wine in this shop, but they gave me a vintage that had already gone bad. This is something a wine shop should know. They also charged me double the price. It's a shame, as they did have a nice collection.
08/04/2026: Every time I return to Assisi, I can't help but stop by for at least an aperitif. Recommended.

During dinner, a bell rings: it's the owner calling the guests' attention to explain the origins of the room where we were dining, with a historical overview of Assisi. An exclusive and intriguing experience, rated 5 stars with honors.

10/04/2026: Four of us were friends on a trip to Assisi and had lunch at Osteria Piazzetta dell'Erba—a perfect choice! The gorgeous day allowed us to sit outside, and from there, everything was a pleasure. We were warmly welcomed and served with attention and professionalism: we felt truly pampered. The dish that everyone raved about? The strangozzi cacio e pepe with truffle, a true delight. It was one of those tables where you laugh, eat well, and never want to leave. We'll be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

04/05/2026: Typical, high-quality cuisine: excellent cured meats and cheeses, and generous portions! The owner welcomed us kindly and courteously. The bathroom was clean and tidy.
02/05/2026: Lunch on the terrace on a lovely spring-like day. In an Assisi packed with pilgrims, we felt like we were in a haven for a select few. A wonderful feeling.
The food was carefully prepared, with excellent and expertly selected ingredients. The service was prompt and attentive. The quality/price ratio was very fair, I'd say. If I could, I'd go back next Saturday. Thank you.

08/04/2026: I came back here again to enjoy the great food and atmosphere. We came at lunch time, where we waited a little longer for our food, but we must say that we all enjoyed ourselves. The fresh fish was amazing.....the homemade pasta tasted like grandma's and everything was just great. I will definitely come back here again when I pass by.

10/05/2026: A truly positive experience at La Bella Selva in Assisi. A welcoming place, surrounded by greenery, perfect for a relaxing day. Excellent food, generous portions, and authentic flavors. Everything was meticulously designed, from the ambiance to the service. The staff was incredibly kind and always smiling. Definitely one of the most pleasant places in the area!
03/05/2026: The beautiful forest, truly beautiful, a diamond set just above the Basilica of San Francesco, the food is truly exquisite with refined dishes that are not obvious and at absolutely honest prices, the staff are very kind, we had a great time

05/04/2026: Terrible, almost an hour and a half to wait for the food, the waiter responded rudely to my request, not even a basket of bread and breadsticks during the wait, the drinks were always brought very late. I understand the overcrowding of the day but the waiter was really rude in responding to the customer in this manner.
05/04/2026: We went for both lunch and dinner. Beautiful location, good service, and excellent food, including delicious pizzas. Recommended.

26/03/2026: Drawn by this restaurant with its vaulted ceilings and exposed stone, we entered for dinner, sampling some typical Umbrian dishes.
Scrambled eggs with truffles and torta al testo, followed by truffle strangozzi, paired with a fine Montefalco Sagrantino.
These delicious dishes completely satisfied us.
16/03/2026: Kudos to the waiter. The food could be improved. We ordered pasta, but it wasn't very hot (though the flavor was good). We ordered the soft-centered tart for dessert, but it was overcooked. It wasn't soft-centered and was almost burnt on the outside.

11/05/2026: Recommended by the manager of the farmhouse where I'm staying, I tried it: spot on!
The place is spacious, perhaps a little dimly lit, but very well decorated.
Top hospitality!
Let's get to the food: tagliatelle (handmade in-house) with delicious giblets, with the obligatory mopping up of the sauce (which was then mopped up with their freshly baked bread, a real treat!); the braised veal cheek with mashed potatoes (off the menu) was incredibly tender, but I would have preferred the baked potatoes; the homemade tiramisu was very good, but could have been better with a little more coffee.
Total bill €40 (perhaps a little low considering my experience).

Non solo cinghiale

26/04/2026: After our pilgrimage in Assisi, we went
here for lunch. The staff was exceptionally kind, welcoming us warmly and helpfully (almost like volunteers, with all the heart they put into it!). The torta al testo was simply delicious, fragrant, and rich in flavor. We also tried the San Francesco (or local) craft beer: truly strong and full of character, perfect for those who love bold flavors. A place I highly recommend to all pilgrims!

24/04/2026: During a trip to Assisi with the Diocese of Rome, I went here to get an exceptional—I can now say—sandwich with wild boar ham and olive oil. Simple, good, exactly what I was looking for. A little pricey, perhaps, but there aren't even any supermarkets here in Assisi, so it's not surprising. My friends were able to wait outside without getting impatient; in fact, in no time, my sandwich was ready to be enjoyed. Excellent, highly recommended!!!

They also offer gluten-free options.
08/05/2026: Everything was delicious, from appetizers to dessert, truly! The staff was super helpful, welcoming, attentive to detail, and knew how to make their guests feel at ease. Of the restaurants I've tried in the area, this was the best for me, and the one I'd absolutely recommend!
