A small, very charming restaurant with exceptionally friendly service! We had the octopus with pea sauce and burrata – simply fantastic, as were the wild boar ragout and the ravioli (homemade, of course). We were thrilled and highly recommend this restaurant!

We dined here on a Friday evening in June. Although the restaurant is close to Assisi's main square, its secluded location on a side street allows for outdoor dining in a quiet, intimate atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds. The dishes we ordered (risotto, stew, and pasta with zucchini and tomatoes) were tasty and served in reasonable portions. The bill was in line with the quality of the ingredients, and probably even lower than other nearby restaurants.

The choice of this characteristic restaurant among the many in Assisi was no coincidence... something caught our attention. Among the many menus we'd read while exploring the city, the one at Osteria Pozzo della Mensa had something special... so we decided to trust our curiosity. We were very satisfied!!!! Everything was excellent, I recommend the squid ink ravioli with cuttlefish, scampi, and peas. The photo I took doesn't do the dish justice, but it's truly worth it! The staff was kind, attentive, and very professional! We'll definitely be back! Compliments to the chef!

A "pranzo" (lunch) enjoyed just before closing time (3:00 PM) that perfectly showcases local ingredients (vin de ore viejo, zuppa rustica, carciifi arrosto, etc.). All for a very reasonable price. A restaurant just the way we like them, and one you'll only find here!

01/08/2026: Looking for a lunch restaurant in the pouring rain. Was fully booked when we asked but they were kind enough to give us a table even though we were completely wet. The waiter recommended us a starter, pasta and their large piece of meat. This was to be shared between 2 people. Everything was delicious, especially the gigantic piece of meat 😋 The best piece of meat in my 60 year life.

21/05/2026: The restaurant is a pleasant and intimate place to enjoy excellent dishes at your leisure. From the first to the second courses, everything is fabulous, with just the right aromas to appreciate the meats and create the perfect fragrance to take you back in time. Expert hands create the fresh pasta, which you slowly savor with a white wild boar ragù sauce, or the Sagrantino gnocchi with crispy bacon. And for the second courses, even better: the wild boar stew, cooked to perfection, with a fragrance that sparks the imagination... the chicken and quail are fantastic. The desserts are perfect, and the coffee is a dream.
03/05/2026: A very welcoming and friendly place, generous portions and excellent quality, cuisine like grandma's, very fair prices. Highly recommended for those who want to feel at home. The staff is friendly and always smiling.
