18/10/2025: We ordered a takeout pizza for Inter's Champions League final against PSG. The restaurant was packed, and there were a river of customers rushing back to watch the second half of the match on the giant screen outside.
After seven minutes, we left with our hot pizzas in hand, just in time to not miss a single minute of the game.
The pizza and ingredients were excellent, like few other times, and the service and organization I wish we had in the north.
Congratulations!
09/10/2025: Unfortunately, we were disappointed.
We had really liked the restaurant during our evening stroll, so we went there for dinner the next evening. I ordered a 4-cheese pizza, my companion a pizza intrigante. According to the menu, both pizzas should have had mozzarella and gorgonzola. Unfortunately, they didn't. Apparently, both cheeses were out of stock. Instead of a warning, I was given a Due Formaggi, which tasted like cheese on toast. Anyway, we didn't want to argue, so we only ate half and went for ice cream instead. Unfortunately, we couldn't even skip the tip, as they charge a cover charge of €2.50 per person.
Therefore, unfortunately, we can't recommend it, and we'd rather eat somewhere else.

05/10/2025: Really disappointed with our experience here... Very restricted menu for Sunday lunchtime/early afternoon... Ordered bruschetta which appeared to have been forgotten... When it arrived it was inedible given that the bread risked breaking teeth.. the replacement was basically tomato and basil on stale bread... Take your chances, you may be luckier than we were...
04/10/2025: Today, in the off-season, we stopped by Guido Azzuro to spend the day again. We rented a lovely parasol and two loungers. The beach is also top-notch. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the restaurant. Apparently, service has been significantly scaled down since October 1st. There are still drinks with a nice view, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. We were offered a drastically reduced menu with only four dishes: Caprese, a large mixed salad, a fennel and orange salad, and bruschetta.
We opted for bruschetta, the orange and fennel salad, and the Caprese. The result is clearly visible in the photo. At least they tried their best and simply turned us away after I was first informed that there was no food.
Conclusion: Definitely recommended without reservation during peak season; now, in the off-season, only for the beach, a visit, and drinks on the very nice terrace.

08/10/2025: Very nice, historic place located in the center in a historic building. It was a 250-year-old cellar. Excellent quality food, not exactly cheap, but quality is paid for. Excellent wines, very kind and qualified staff, I recommend it.

05/08/2025: The Sicilia di Vendicari farmhouse is nestled in the Vendicari oasis.
In the morning, you wake to the scent of lemons, olive trees, and fig trees, and the wind caresses you in this land full of colors and scents, thanks above all to the loving care of the owners, Antonietta, Angelo, and their mother, Maria.
The villas are simple but clean and spacious.
We also ate wonderfully at their restaurant, also located within the oasis.
You can experience the true Sicily with authentic Sicilian dishes cooked by Maria and many desserts prepared by her daughter, Antonietta.
The oasis is strategically located near Sicily's most beautiful beaches and the coolest spots.
You can only get around by car, preferably a jeep.
Highly recommended.

31/07/2025: Cercavamo un una rosticceria dove poter mangiare un arancina invece abbiamo trovato questo locale trattoria che siamo rimasti sorprese dalla bontà di quello che abbiamo mangiato e dall'arancino siamo passati a un piatto di tagliatelle ad astice favoloso quindi vi consiglio di andare a provare questo locale anche al personale gentilissimo portale personale quotidiano cordiale e comunque un locale molto pulito e quindi vi consiglio di andare a trovarlo

27/05/2025: I have known the Spiga D'oro bakery for 17 years, I live nearby and I always buy bread, breakfast or various sweets there, the food is really delicious. The staff is serious about the customers and is always very kind and with a smile on their face, always ready to help you, not to mention the owner's wife, Mrs. Stefania, she is always present and also ready to help with her wonderful smile.
I recommend trying the Spiga D'oro bakery at least once.
25/05/2025: The best baker in town. Warm bread in the morning and in the evening, pizzas, focaccias, and scacce as if made at home, excellent biscuits, fresh pasta, ravioli with ricotta always fresh, granitas and brioches… superior quality food.

02/10/2025: This seafood restaurant in the center of Portopalo is located in a pedestrian area where vehicles are prohibited. The location is a bit spartan, but the ingredients are top-quality, with well-prepared, flavorful seafood dishes and attentive, friendly service. It's a shame there's no traditional Sicilian dessert menu, but I'd definitely recommend it for family or couples dinners.
14/09/2025: A place devoid of any tourist culture, the friendly waiters more or less make up for the inefficiencies of the owners, the very limited menu, and frozen fish. In a country where fish reigns supreme, eating such a low-quality meal is absurd.

29/06/2025: This is a small location in the middle of nature!
Everything is very well cared for in the smallest details!
The structure is family-run and I have been frequenting it for many years; since 2025 the Datterino restaurant is no longer active but you can still eat excellent dishes cooked by Mrs. Ilaria.
Coming here is like coming home and if you expect a mass place then it is not the ideal place but if you expect a lot of kindness, love in doing things and a lot of tranquility then you are in the right place.

I just returned from a vacation that exceeded all expectations, and I couldn't be more excited to share my experience! Last week I had the privilege of staying in the magnificent "Palmento" Suite that literally took my breath away.
The evocative atmosphere that you breathe inside is something unique, a real journey back in time that envelops you and enchants you. Every detail, from the care of the furnishings to the light, contributes to creating an unforgettable experience, full of charm and history.
But what made this stay truly special were the wonderful people I met: Ilaria and Raimondo. They were not just hoteliers, but warm and welcoming presences that made me feel like a friend, not just a guest. Their availability, their kindness and their genuine passion for what they do are evident in every gesture. You can immediately perceive the love they put into making each person feel at ease and pampered.
And speaking of passion... I absolutely have to mention Ilaria's incredible talent in the kitchen. Her skill is something exceptional! On the last night, she delighted us with a freshly caught snapper that made me forget about all the pre-packaged tourist menus that, unfortunately, have become the norm. It was a dish that contained the authentic flavor of the sea and the enthusiasm of those who love to cook with their heart. This opinion comes from someone who deals with nutrition and food for a living, so very critical.
I recommend this enchanting place to anyone looking not just for a place to sleep, but for an experience that nourishes the soul, a refuge where you can feel truly welcome and cared for. Thank you so much, Ilaria and Raimondo, for making my stay a precious and joyful memory!

24/10/2025: It's been years since I've been there and I have to say it was like going back in time... a meeting place and a good cup of well-made coffee... excellent breakfasts... I still have to discover the rest... I have to say that now you can linger longer... there was a time when you couldn't do that... the atmosphere was different... I will return not only as a meeting point... "Let's meet at the Sun" 😄 but also to consume....

11/10/2025: I went out for dinner in the evening and had the 8-course tasting menu – this review is based on a Michelin-oriented assessment, meaning it focuses on perfection in the cuisine, service, wine pairing, and overall experience.
What was good:
* The meal overall was very successful. Technically masterful, creative ideas, and a good selection of ingredients.
* The "salute to molecular gastronomy" with the olive bursting in the mouth and releasing a very intense flavor was particularly impressive. A moment that added character to the evening.
* The service was generally friendly and attentive. There were moments where details were spot on.
What was less convincing:
* The portions were rather small in places, even for gourmet cuisine. This meant that you didn't always have the opportunity to fully appreciate the flavor of a course in its entirety – which is a shame if you expect many small nuances.
* The "hamburger" interpretation of Sicilian dishes: The idea is appealing, but the burger bun was so dominant that it overpowered the other flavors. The balance suffered as a result.
Wine Pairing / Sommelier:
* One of the bottles of wine in the pairing was almost empty, and only a very small amount was poured. It seemed to us that more should have been poured, but the sommelier never appeared again. Only after asking the waitress did we learn that the originally planned wine was no longer available. The restaurant manager finally intervened and had us served a very delicious replacement wine, which was a positive moment. Unfortunately, we had to explain ourselves three times, which was unnecessarily awkward for such an obvious matter.
Overall, the amount of wine poured was relatively small—especially compared to the Duomo in Ragusa.
The sommelier barely maintained eye contact, seemed distant, at times uninterested in her own presentation, and somewhat above the guests. Overall, rather unpleasant for a Michelin-starred restaurant—I would have preferred more passion for wine. Perhaps she was having a bad day, which I certainly grant everyone.
Compared to Duomo (Ragusa-Ibla, Chef: Ciccio Sultano, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant), the service at Crossificcio falls somewhat short overall.
That's not to say Crossificcio is bad—but compared to a restaurant like Duomo, there's still some room for improvement, especially in terms of service and wine pairing.
Summary & Rating
Crossificcio offers a good to very good tasting menu with some very strong moments, including the molecular greeting. The cuisine is creative and meticulous, but details make the difference at this level: portion size, wine service, personal attention.
03/10/2025: A charming place! We had a seafood tasting, what can I say...it was wonderful, every course was spectacular and surprising. The cod with leek foam has remained in my heart. It's truly a masterpiece of cuisine, compliments to the chef and all the staff. The wine cellar is very extensive, the service top-notch, and the ambience is meticulously designed.
