20/07/2025: The food was really good, the atmosphere was nice but it was difficult to communicate because the music was too loud, the service was quite friendly but the waiting time was a bit long, otherwise the restaurant was nice.

08/06/2025: Serata a dir poco disgustevole. Non si riusciva a comunicare con i camerieri per la musica troppo forte. Camerieri incompetenti. Mi hanno portato la pizza dopo averglielo ripetuto 4 volte e dopo che gli invitati avevano già finito di mangiare. Ogni mezz'ora dovevo ripetutamente far presente che le bevande erano finite. Pessimo. Pessimo e ancora pessimo.

29/04/2025: Camminando per le vie del centro di Catania, siamo stati attirati dalla location intima e tranquilla di questo locale situato in uno scorcio pittoresco a due passi dal Duomo. Pranzo a base di pesce tipico catanese con materia prima di qualità e porzioni generose. Nota di apprezzamento per lo staff, cordiale, disponibile, allegro e scherzoso senza però risultare invadente. Decisamente consigliato!

27/04/2025: Auf Empfehlung unseres einheimischen Vermieters, Santo, einem sehr netten Herrn, gingen wir in das Giglio Rosso. Es sieht von außen unscheinbar aus und der Chef ist ein selbstbewusster jedoch auch herzlicher Sizilianer. Wir ließen uns dann inspirieren von der Karte und seinen Empfehlungen und bestellten für uns 5 diverse Vorspeisen, Primi Piatti, Secondi Piatti und Nachtische. Und wirklich alles, was auf unseren Tisch kam, war ein ganz außerordentlicher Genuss. Sardellen, Schwertfisch, Garnelen, Tintenfisch, Rinderfilet, Pasta und Dolce. Zum Abschluss ein hausgemachter Marsalla. Alles vorzüglich um nicht sogar zu sagen einzigartig. Bei diesem Essen beschlossen wir, dass es eine weitere Reise wert ist wiederzukommen. In der Nacht entfaltete die enge, dunkle und für Catania sehr typische Straße einen ganz besonderen Charme, wie man ihn nur hier erleben kann. Ein schönes Erlebnis, das wir gerne in unserer Erinnerung behalten. So geht Urlaub ☀️😄 Top-Empfehlung 👍

19/07/2025: Unfortunately, our visit to Porticciolo was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the staff barely acknowledged us and we had to wait a long time before we were even assigned a table – even though the restaurant was half empty. The food was a disaster: The pasta was overcooked and barely seasoned, the fish smelled unpleasant and wasn't cooked properly. There was no way it was fresh. The bread was also dry and seemed stale. The service was unfriendly. Dishes arrived very late and were incorrect. The prices are completely exorbitant for this quality. We left the restaurant disappointed and will definitely not return.

09/07/2025: This is an authentic "trattoria" which serves up the morning's freshest fish, so the menu is adapted. If you are looking for TOP quality fish with none of the fuss, this is for you! The antipasti just keep coming, absolutely delicious, then there's a choice of 3 pasta dishes, we didn't enquire about the secondi. There are no desserts, just a lemon sorbet. The service is somewhat chaotic, Italian style, but being on holiday there's no rush to go anywhere. Views stunning, and plenty of locals eating there, always a good sign! A must-have experience.

06/06/2025: I recommend trying the pasta alla Norma; you can skip the rest. The prices aren't that affordable for a trattoria. The service isn't bad, but it's not outstanding either.

25/05/2025: Hidden Champ Restaurant - Don't let the quiet atmosphere fool you! This charming Sicilian family-run restaurant is a true gem. While they may not always have everything on the menu available, what they do serve is exceptional. Their vegan pasta options are fantastic - the pasta pomodoro and norma are absolutely incredible. The prices are remarkably reasonable for such high-quality pasta, especially considering it's located right around the corner from much pricier hipster establishments. The family who runs it is genuinely lovely, and despite the relaxed, uncrowded setting, the food quality is outstanding. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for authentic, delicious pasta without the fancy restaurant markup!

26/07/2025: I arrived at the restaurant at 8:40 PM after booking a table for two at that time. They told me they didn't offer table service, the place was very small and without air conditioning, and then I noticed with great surprise that there were no arancini, but rather stale leftovers from another hot food outlet. Disappointed by the somewhat unfriendly welcome, I decided to go elsewhere.

10/07/2025: This place was recommended to us by family friends. It's a truly peaceful place, and the food is superb. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it. WELL DONE!

12/07/2025: Siamo stati dieci giorni in vacanza ad Acireale e ben sei volte abbiamo cenato in questa trattoria. Abbiamo trovato sempre pesce freschissimo, ben cucinato senza uso di spezie che spesso devono a coprire una qualità scadente e che sempre mortificano il sapore e il profumo del pesce appena pescato. Oltre all’ottima cucina abbiamo apprezzato la posizione sul mare, arieggiata anche nei giorni di grande caldo e la cortesia e competenza del personale che ha completato la perfetta atmosfera del luogo.

07/07/2025: Very nice place, immersed in a truly fascinating atmosphere. We arrived at 8:30 pm, we ate pizza at 10:30 pm. The waiter had 10 tables and couldn't keep up with us, he struggled a lot and snorted at everything you asked him for. The appetizer arrived first and then the drinks. The second round of drinks arrived after 45 minutes thanks to one of the managers. The other tables ate before us even though they arrived later, the kitchen was definitely faster. There was no chaos and the wait was long and the waiter was rude.

06/07/2025: Nice and familiar atmosphere. The tables outside in the garden at the entrance were very characteristic and the pizza was good.

23/06/2025: The worst food experience ever. The meat was not even cooked and It was obvious that they use the cheapest ingredients. Too bad. Do not recommend this place to anyone

07/05/2025: Compartimos una ensalada mixta, pasta alle vongole y un plato de pescado a la parrilla. Todos estaban bien cocinados y sabrosos. Hacemos una mención especial a las sardinas a la parrilla que no estaban secas y a la pasta vongole. Buen y rápido servicio. Situado en medio de la lonja de pescado tiene todos los pros y contras de la ubicación.

08/07/2025: Il posto é veramente eccezionale, dispone di un enorme patio esterno, ben allestito. Il personale gentilissimo e disponibile, sempre pronto a soddisfare le richieste della gente. Il cibo FANTASTICO porzioni molto abbondanti e gustose, prezzi giusti.. Ritorneremo sicuramente!!
