Agua Loca In Catania

I've been a customer for several years, and Agua Loca remains one of my favorites: the quality of the food, the location, and the service are truly fantastic. However, I was very disappointed with my last takeout order, where the portions of sashimi and tartare were significantly smaller than my previous orders... and considering the prices, it doesn't really offer the right quality-price ratio.

I had a poke, delicious and super abundant, excellent quality

Aqua Loca is an absolute gem in Catania! I had an incredible evening here and left completely blown away by the quality. The Pulled Pork Nachos were hands-down excellent. My friend is a serious expert in meat smoking (he’s been perfecting his backyard setup for years), and even he raved about the pork at the table. Then there’s the Spicy Tuna Roll… easily the best I’ve had anywhere in Catania. Fresh, vibrant, with just the right kick and beautiful balance. This place does gourmet-level sushi with a tropical twist, and it shows. If you’re someone who loves sushi, you really need to understand the difference between true gourmet quality and the typical AYCE (all-you-can-eat) spots around town. Aqua Loca is on another level—fresh, creative, and refined. If you can’t taste (or don’t care about) that difference, the many AYCE options in Catania will probably suit you fine. But if you want something special, this is it. One more thing that impressed me: while we were dining, there was a constant stream of take-out orders being prepared and picked up. The kitchen was buzzing, bags going out non-stop. That’s a clear sign of success—fresh ingredients, high turnover, and stock moving quickly so nothing sits around. You can taste the difference. Highly, highly recommend Aqua Loca. Amazing food, great vibe, and worth every euro. We’ll definitely be back! 5/5 – Can’t wait to try more from their tropical-fusion menu! 🌮🍣

I don't review many restaurants, but one this bad deserves a review. I'm not sure what cuisine it aims for—Asian fusion, South American, or Mexican—but Sicilians should stick to what they know best: their own cuisine. Our waitress was convinced the food was good, and judging by the number of delivery and To-Go orders, most customers seem to like what this place offers. My buddy from Ohio said the sushi he ordered was good, as were the tacos, but my other friend and I, both from Florida, ordered a steak—which was tough—and I had some sort of “Mexican” bowl that wasn't worth the 12 or 16€ they charged for a few strips of overcooked beef and chewy chicken. The appetizers were nachos with pulled pork, which tasted like grocery-store quality (Italian grocery store) with some sweet BBQ sauce. Yuck. We also ordered potstickers, which were nothing special. For dessert, my buddies had a pasta-filled, cup-shaped Nutella thing that I didn't eat, but my friends didn't like it either. The 120€ we spent, without any alcoholic drinks, could have gone toward dining at a better Asian-fusion area restaurant for much less. When Italians try to imitate American or South American dishes, they often fall short.

The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The only downside was that service was a bit slow on holidays, which is normal, but worth considering!

Excellent service, everything good

The poke was truly delicious, made with fresh ingredients and beautifully balanced flavors. The experience was so enjoyable that I can't wait to return for the sushi: I hope it's as good and delicious as ever, because my expectations are definitely high after this experience.

Ordered takeout, the burrito arrived cold. The delivery drivers are from the restaurant, and I live 100 meters away. I ordered a burrito with Argentine beef; there was also pork. Luckily, I realized this right away because I can't eat pork. Poor. We've ordered several times, and sometimes the product hasn't been good, but this evening it was awful.

I come here very often for the sushi, it's really delicious! The staff are always friendly and helpful, I recommend it.
