16/08/2025: We had a wonderful meal here! Al Peperoncino is a very small, simple pizzeria, frequented primarily by locals who take food to go. We were served delicious pizza and pasta (all huge portions) at absolutely fair prices by very nice people! Motto di buon gusto!

09/08/2025: Delicious food. We went to Shalai for dinner and ordered the meat menu. Great food, extensive variety of local wines, friendly and fast service. It was a great experience

08/07/2025: Shalai Resort is an elegant boutique hotel in Linguaglossa, on the slopes of Mount Etna, in the province of Catania. This 4-star hotel is located in a beautifully restored 19th-century historic building. The rooms feature a modern yet warm style, some with whirlpool tubs. The Shalai Restaurant, with its contemporary Sicilian cuisine and 1 Michelin star, offers excellent dishes and a spacious and well-stocked wine cellar. There is a spa with a Turkish bath, whirlpool, sauna, and wellness treatments; although small, it is very welcoming. Perfect for relaxing, food, and nature experiences. I highly recommend it ❗️

10/07/2025: Everything was good, there's something missing to say I ate very well

09/07/2025: The only good thing was the wine, a total disappointment, so much so that we left the two main courses on our plate. Rabbit, which not even a top-tier restaurant would serve, and half a Borrettana onion covered in this dome of dry, salty, burnt bread, inedible. Linguine with anchovies were incredibly salty, and tagliatelle were greasy and salty, too, so we left everything on our plate. A total disappointment, I'm sorry to say. Perhaps it's fine for German and Anglo-Saxon tourists. Unfortunately, the stunning location isn't enough.

21/07/2025: The best pizza I had in all of Sicily!

21/06/2025: My family and I have been regular customers for over a year now; In the past it has happened that sometimes the pizzas had imperfections. Last night we ordered take-out as usual; it had been over 2 months since I had eaten their pizza and the result was always the same better, my taste buds exploded at the first bite; confirming the fact that even the best sometimes can not give the best. Personally, to this day I cannot find a pizza better than theirs, even considering the famous pizzerias/restaurants of the place (Scicli). Worthy of master bakers and pizza chefs. Excellent prices given the quality of the product offered. Super professional punctuality; I have never waited more than 2 minutes when I ordered take-out. To check if there is still the possibility of dining in the room. "Too bad" that we do not do home delivery service, but justified by their professional organization. I hope that the business continues on this path and always aims to improve its already excellent service and product.

26/08/2025: We found the restaurant by chance, and it was a good choice, as it's located at the top of a narrow street. We didn't have to wait to be seated, and the food was delivered fairly quickly. I recommend trying the Sicilian-style meat rolls.

11/08/2025: Located right on a narrow alley in the city center, they offer a variety of potato dishes, including fries, chips, and baked potatoes. I had medium fries, which were quite interestingly seasoned with some herbs with a bitter note. However, the service was quite unfriendly and uncaring, like in some restaurants catering to tourists. There are a few small tables set up on the sidewalk right next to the alley.

05/09/2025: The Best Cannoli in Taormina You have to go to Roberto's because it's the pastry shop specializing in cannoli, made fresh daily and made to order. It's become a Taormina institution. It's 100% fresh, unlike other pastry shops, which are often prepared industrially. On the first day, we met Mr. Roberto during our first tasting and immediately struck up a very friendly relationship with the owner. It should also be said that in late August and early September, there are far fewer tourists and there are almost no lines. (During high season, be patient in the sun because it's worth it.) Mr. Roberto was very kind, taking the time to carefully explain to us all the work that goes into preparing this iconic Sicilian dessert. We were able to see him at work every morning, as it was our ritual after a good coffee. He also produces various dry biscuits and nougats, all of which are excellent. On our last morning, we made sure to stop by to say hello to Mr. Roberto and enjoy one last treat before our departure. Knowing the day before that we were leaving, he welcomed us with a big smile and two cannoli as a thank you gift for our daily visits. We left with 2 kg of pistachio and hazelnut nougat and the memory of a wonderful encounter with a wonderful person. I'm already looking forward to seeing him again on my next trip to Sicily. 02/09/2025: We had the Sicilian Camilo with ricotta and pistachio. It was spectacular, one of the best I've had in Sicily. The service was fantastic and very entertaining. A must-try in Taormina.

30/08/2025: A blast from the past, like going to lunch at my grandmother's as a child. Every dish is prepared with fresh, quality ingredients, the meat so tender it melts in your mouth. But for me, a pasta lover, the highlight is the "maccarruni" with fresh sauce, a true delight! Everything is authentic, from the appetizer to the homemade liqueur we were offered at the end of the meal. And it's not just the food that makes you feel at home, but also the family welcome you receive as soon as you arrive. The staff are wonderful and attentive. Truly, everything is excellent!

01/06/2025: Esperienza straordinaria. Finalmente una cena a Palermo in zona Cala, degna di essere ripetuta e immagazinata in memoria a lungo termine. Prenotazione 48 ore prima e disponibilità del tavolo subito all'arrivo. Antipasto di ostriche alta qualità, con tartare di gambero rosso, passion fuit e peperoncino. Una delizia assoluta. Fritto misto di calamari, calamaretti e gamberi ottimo e asciutto, Non ho gradito, però, l'inutile maionese di accompaganmento, industriale e aromatizzata con qualcosa che non ho gradito. Ma sembra che la moderna tendenza obblighi a mangiare il fritto di pesce con la maionese. Per fortuna c'era mezzo lime. Cuscus con pesce ottimo anche se il vero cuscus incocciato mano si mangia solo in pochi posti in Sicilia. Perdoniamo. Due dessert molto ben eseguiti e, ovviamente, fatti da loro e non industriali. Servizio impeccabile e gentilezza da vendere. Per esempio hanno portato - senza chiederli - i fazzolettini imbevuti al limone per pulire le mani, mentre in un altri ristoranti vicini non ne conoscono nemmeno l'esistenza. Cinque stelle anche se qualcosa è migliorabile, per esempio il coperto comprendente tovaglie e tovaglioni in carta o TNT e posate abbastanza usurate.
