04/08/2025: We were visiting Mazara from Campania with a Sicilian friend who, while walking, was drawn to this lovely place and its aperitif-couscous menu: abundant fried fish, including Arab brik and delicious fish couscous. We also tried the famous raw fish of Mazara and were delighted, all washed down with a nice chilled wine. Welcoming service from start to finish!

01/03/2025: One of the best restaurants in town. Just good taste and presentation, with reasonable price, no pretentious Michelin BS we tried elsewhere in Sicily that tried too much to impress but failed even in the most basic aspect of cuisine such as the amount of salt! Balata is just pure culinary cuisine, with excellent transparent display of competent chefs at work. (You can even talk to them and ask questions! They’re that friendly). The waiters are friendly and communicative. We just had to keep coming back here and open yet another bottle of their fantastic Sicilian Syrah wine. Can’t believe some clueless clients have them one star. You want huge portion? Go to a pizzeria.

07/08/2025: An excellent culinary experience! My husband and I had the pleasure of discovering this restaurant, where we enjoyed 1.2 kg of matured meat: a true delight, rated 10/10 without reservation. The staff is attentive, warm, and caring. Special mention should be made of the owner, whose kindness and personalized welcome greatly contributed to the quality of this experience. We had a remarkable time and will return with great pleasure. The prices are quite reasonable considering the quality of the products and the service provided.

09/07/2025: Etnapolis is the best shopping center in Sicily, and for good reason: it's the only one with both green spaces, wonderful sports fields, and free playgrounds. Everything in one building, without having to take a car to get from one store to another (see Central Sicily). It's the only one that even has Holy Mass celebrated inside on the upper floor, a sign of interest for families who value this. Always packed with discounts and wonderful free activities for everyone (shows, events). In short, I could write more, but I recommend everyone to choose Etnapolis without a doubt!

15/06/2025: Nice atmosphere, good food and excellent service from the girls. Only 4 stars because the fifth one remained on the heat-shrink collar of the bottle not adequately removed by the waiter.... Perhaps it is no longer customary to cut and then remove the capsule from the neck of the bottle, so that the cork does not encounter resistance, and the wine does not come into contact with the plastic when it comes out?

08/06/2025: Capriccio di Mare was a delicious discovery! The culinary experience began with a platter of cold cuts and cheeses accompanied by a caponata and burrata of excellent quality. The fresh pasta cavatelli alla norma were simply delicious, a true triumph of flavors. But the real highlight was the tiramisu that on the advice of the staff, always serious, very kind, polite and courteous, I paired the tiramisu with a cinnamon rasolio: a winning combination! Compliments to all the staff for their attention and care for details. Highly recommended!

21/07/2025: This deli is one of those joys that transforms your vacation. Excellent home cooking with a wide range of choices, and a welcome from the owners that reflects a kindness and politeness that are rare these days. We ate there for lunch and also took out for dinner (it's worth it, the food is better than in a restaurant). Super fair prices, excellent value. Go there, you won't regret it.

12/08/2025: As a native of Puglia with a love for Southern Italian cuisine, I expected aromas, flavors, and tradition. Instead, I found a menu capable of transforming iconic dishes into experiments I would have preferred not to try. The parmigiana? Unrecognizable: sweet and sour eggplant (gastronomic heresy), an unpleasant-tasting ricotta mousse... a meeting of tradition and innovation that turned into a disaster waiting to happen. The caponata, which at least plays home with the sweet and sour sauce, was otherwise unmemorable. After expressing my disappointment, I received a pork tenderloin: less shocking than the rest, but with the same omnipresent aftertaste, as if it were the cuisine's trademark. In short: not a Sicilian restaurant, but an alternative version designed for those unfamiliar with the true flavors of the island. I'm not an expert on Sicilian cuisine, but I know how extraordinary it is: here, unfortunately, I've only tasted a counterpart.

10/06/2025: The food was quite good, though the burgers were a bit dry. The service seemed very unmotivated and listless. The only smile we saw was Salvatore's when we were paying, when he asked for his Google review. It's a shame, because we would have stayed longer if the service had been friendlier.

29/07/2025: A small restaurant hidden away in a narrow alley. The interior decor is magnificent. The welcome is warm and immediately puts us at ease. The waiters are excellent and serve our drinks quickly so there's no waiting. As for the food, it's excellent; the spaghetti is very good. We recommend it.
