29/10/2025: BIG NOOOO!!!! Poor quality food and inattentive service

27/10/2025: I came with my boyfriend on Sunday for lunch, and unfortunately it was a terrible experience. They sat me outside, and there were bees everywhere. I understand that it's a season that attracts bees, but the waiters are really rude. I asked for help because I couldn't figure out how to order cold sake on my phone (I asked if they could give me a tablet; they didn't give it to me. They scanned it from the QR code, but I could see that a customer next to me had a tablet). Besides that, they didn't even answer the sake question. Maybe the girl doesn't speak Italian, but she could at least ask her colleagues to help. I then asked another male waiter if the missing dishes, like the grilled ravioli and gunkan, would arrive, but no one explained anything and gave me a dirty look. I waited about 15 minutes without anything arriving, so in the end I left. Really poor service and disrespectful attitude towards the customers. It's a shame, because the place seemed nice, but the staff management needs a complete overhaul.

26/07/2025: Average bar for breakfast. It's a shame it's run by a rude, ill-mannered, and completely out of place owner. I'll never set foot there again.

06/05/2025: Esperienza sempre positiva all’Orto del Frate. Ci torniamo spesso ogni volta che saliamo, sia in coppia, in famiglia o con amici. È uno di quei posti dove sai cosa aspettarti: cucina semplice, porzioni giuste, ambiente rilassato. Il locale non è particolarmente caratteristico, ma è comodo e piacevole, perfetto per una pausa dopo una giornata sulla neve o per una cena informale. Niente di memorabile, ma mai una delusione. Un punto fermo affidabile a Sauze.

10/10/2025: Nice ambiance, but that's about it. Apeol 13 euros. (As of 2025) The most expensive we've had in the area. There was nothing to go with it either. No chips, no olives. Never again. What a shame.

30/09/2025: A great sunny location right on the lake, with a nice drinks menu offering everything from coffee to aperitifs and classic cocktails. Some of the waiters are quick and attentive, some are slow and imprecise, but everyone is friendly. But in such a beautiful spot, you have time and don't put yourself or the staff in a bad mood. The prices are on the high side, which is certainly due to the location, and it's worth it.

27/09/2025: An elegant and welcoming restaurant, Il Portico offers spectacular views of the lake. I dined al fresco at sunset: the view makes every dish even more special. I tried tagliatelle with truffles and a local fish fillet: fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked, and meticulously presented. The attentive staff made the evening enjoyable, explaining the recipes and sharing stories about local products.

24/09/2025: I don't know what the gentlemen and ladies who gave low ratings expect. It's simply a good classic Italian restaurant with a varied menu (I would remove a few dishes), but above all, it's ideal for tourists. However, nothing is stopping an Italian from stopping to eat good fish and good meat. Normal portions, reasonable prices for STRESA, a renowned tourist destination. My wife is celiac and received adequate assistance and care. If it happens again, I'll stop by again.

02/08/2025: A place with poor hygiene... just look at the tiles behind the hood and the trays with sugar inside... waited 20 minutes for an overcooked kurtos... the man who prepared it without gloves or a hair cap... alternated between turning the kurtos in the oven, wiping the sweat from his forehead or removing his hair from in front of his face... all WITHOUT GLOVES AND WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS....

17/08/2025: Terrible! €40 for a terribly prepared barbecue. They managed to charge €40 to a 3-year-old who obviously didn't eat anything.

17/08/2025: Dinner with my husband and daughter... Good pizzas, good duck pappardelle, but the portion was small for a €15 dish. Medium beers were €7 each, no comment. The service was too slow and disorganized. Won't go back.

23/08/2025: Acceptable Pizza/Pinsa. Espresso was burnt. And people are not served as they arrive.

05/10/2025: Very good poke, it's not the first time I come but this time I feel like complimenting the kaola girl who served us who was very kind and helpful, especially with my aunt in choosing the ingredients😊

27/07/2025: There are countless problems with poke. I consider myself extremely lucky not to have any allergies because cross-contamination is endless. They use the same ladle for different trays; if food falls on the counter, it gets pushed into the trays and mixed with the rest. The quantities are ridiculous for a €15 dish. The difference between the regular and the large seems like only a ton of rice, which isn't even covered by the very small amounts of protein and vegetables. The fish doesn't even taste fresh. Hygiene is beyond comment. Highly discouraged. I will never return.

02/10/2025: I'm giving one star because I can't give less. We went to the drive thru this evening, around 11 pm, there were three of us. We ordered two Happy Meals, a saver menu with a double cheeseburger, and a nugget deal. We'd chosen the one with the 4-piece nugget, but when we got to the counter to pay, we politely asked if we could exchange it for the 6-piece nugget, which cost €3.80. After this request, the girl at the counter started huffing and puffing, and the guy behind her (Alessandro) loudly exclaimed, "Oh, but these guys can't handle it," as if our request were incredibly absurd. The truth? They didn't feel like exchanging the products because the bag was already ready, not even time to pay. Do you know why the bag was already ready? Because they've had the products ready for hours, confirmed by the fact that the sandwiches were hard and crunchy like biscuits. The double cheeseburger we ordered without cucumbers was one of the pre-made ones, because when we opened it, we noticed the cucumbers had been removed from the already melted cheese, probably to keep it warm. They didn't succeed; it was cold. When the bag was thrown to us in the car, with much grumbling, we obviously checked and realized we'd been given two Actimels instead of one Actimel and one Parmesan, which we'd specifically asked the girl for. Once we pointed this out, the very annoyed girl called the manager, who arrogantly yelled and assured us she'd thrown it to the bottom of the bag. This explains everything. Unless we're magicians, the two Actimels we showed them didn't appear on their own. The whole thing was resolved by them trying to sell us off by giving us one Parmesan. So we ended up with two Actimels and one Parmesan. Too bad for them; we were just trying to be polite. When we got home, we noticed that the complimentary sauce from the famous 6-piece nuggets (mayonnaise) was missing. So, moral of the story, if you like surprise dinners peppered with insults, this is the place for you. I also work in the same job and have never allowed myself to behave like this!!

30/09/2025: Every time I go to McDonald's in Rivoli, something is always missing from my order. It's really frustrating having to double-check every time you pick up the bag, because if you don't, you're going to end up with a scam. Tonight, I didn't have time to check, and the nuggets were missing. Several times, I've stopped in my car to double-check, and even though it was their mistake, they even had the nerve to ask me for my receipt and act annoyed. Besides losing food, I also lose money: if only I had at least one of them... It can't be possible that this happens so often; a little more attention should have been paid.

02/09/2025: Very little remains of the dairy, a mediocre cocktail bar that can be found in any provincial suburb.

02/06/2025: It really depends on the day, I'd say. I went there twice, and the first time everything was great. The cocktails had a good mix, there was music, and there were snacks to go with the cocktails. The service was friendly. The next time, the drinks came without ice. I can't say whether they actually contained alcohol. No snacks, and the waitress was a bit annoyed because she'd rather chat with someone sitting at a table.

31/08/2025: The food is overpriced, the portions are really small. The staff is rude. The photo clearly shows the price and the quantity of ravioli. €15 for 12 ravioli. More than a euro per ravioli: ridiculous. They also charge a cover charge, even though it's self-service. If you're looking to close up shop, this is a more than reasonable option. I gave it two stars because the interior of the refuge is architecturally beautiful.
