14/03/2025: My husband and I were traveling from Assisi to San Casciano dei Bangni and because we had time, we chose a spot along Lake Trasimeno for lunch. We had the best meal since we have been in Italy! Our server Mauro, assisted us with understanding the menu and our choices were nothing but perfection! We were served complimentary champagne, a lovely croissant with a fish crème before our enteree. We typically don’t order the three courses and Mauro suggested the (in my English) the fish soup (many types of fish!!!) and I had the plate with shrimps on a towering skewer, prawn, a fish filet, octopus and crab. Amazing presentation! We also had a berry desert…..yum! We were given a tour of the lower level tasting room/dining room. What a treat to see all of the wines and liquors. The owner and my husband traded cigars and it was a lunch we will never forget. The establishment is a wealth of thought out design! Our accolades to the chef!

13/04/2025: Serata con amici,spinti dall' omaggio di due tagliate di Patanegra. La carne discreta,vino della casa in bottiglia niente di che, descritto dal cameriere come un rosso fermo,si è rivelato un vinello da tavola da 12 gradi, (chiunque capisca un po' di vino,sa che un buon rosso fa almeno 13 gradi o 14 ). Peccato che sia costata,la suddetta bottiglia ben 35€,neanche se fosse un Montepulciano doc. Oltre alle 4 tagliate, abbiamo preso uno gnocco fritto per 4, 3 dolci,3 amari e un caffè, più 2 acque naturali,arrivate al tavolo già stappate in bottiglie anonime. Conto 149 €, troppo per me.

What can I say... right from the phone call to book a table the sensation you perceive is of warmth and hospitality, which is confirmed upon arrival at the restaurant with a super welcome from all the staff. The menu options are excellent, well-prepared dishes, generous and super tasty portions. Even the desserts are no less... The mascarpone sphere with strawberries is truly sublime. A special thank you to those who recommended this restaurant to us. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes. I'll attach some photos just like that... As they say, even the eye wants its part.

20/02/2025: We have always frequented this place with positive feedback, but today a myth has fallen away. Waiters in confidences never given before, with grumpy answers, despite our complaint about the very hard risotto they brought back the dish, the same one, saying they had re-cooked it but it was still hard. And finally increased and exaggerated prices. I'm sorry but our review to date is totally negative. We will never go back there again.

13/02/2025: The place does not look nice at all first sight. One of those ugly buildings built over the coast when it was allowed by guilty local administrators and non-existent national laws. However the place is there, and having lunch so close to the sea is always nice. The restaurant needs some restoration inside, but the terrace is ok and you can forget about the rest. Food is ok; I’d just not recommend raw fish since the area offers much better options (shrimps were old, sea urchins too small and almost empty). Pasta and secondi were good. Desserts average. Prices in line with the area. Service was polite, but somehow too “friendly” for my standards.

15/04/2025: I told the guy that I had to take a bus and if there's something I can have right away for takeaway within 5 minutes. He told me yes the pizza is ready and you will have it very quickly. I paid for it and I had to wait for 30 minutes to get the pizza. I know its a restaurant but at least you shouldn't lie to people for just 10 EUR.

16/04/2025: Mi dispiace fare questa recensione sul ristorante CALALUNA. Oggi in specifico l’esperienza è stata calpestata spiacevolmente dal proprietario. Sono venuto con mia moglie e figlio come di consueta abitudine per la qualità delle pietanze e fin oggi anche il servizio. Oggi abbiamo perso il padre di mia moglie e assieme al mio figlio la ho portata a spendere un momento speciale dove abbiamo condiviso le storie di famiglia. Abbiamo spesso in tre ciò che certamente non sarà un patrimonio ma bel 190€ tra cibo e vino oltre le solite chiusure di portata per una bella cena. il tutto andava bene fino a che a certo momento, ancora dove evidentemente c’era un calice di vino da finire, due amari e due caffè, il prioritario si è presentato sinuosamente, messo il conto di fronte a me e detto a bassa voce, “ecco il conto, ho bisogno del tavolo”. Essendo che ciascuna volta non solo spendo personalmente molto di più giacchè mancavano mia figlia e il suo fidanzato, dov’è in media il conto tende a smontare oltre 200€ nonché 300€, e poi minimo, e ripeto minimo 20€+ di mancia che a milano non è dovuta, questo gesto lo ho trovato l’esempio della cattiva educazione e mancanza di gusto nei nostri confronti. Evidentemente, ho pagato il conto, non ho lasciato la mancia, non per causa dei camerieri ma dal proprietario stesso, e posso dire non tornerò mai più a spendere i miei ben guadagnati soldi, che come dim insista abitudine, ovunque porto la mia famiglia, faccio oltre il dovuto. So che non sarà la nostra mancanza a fare fallire questa attività ma conoscendo la milano per bene dove apparteniamo, e posso dire apparteniamo, non è un ristorante alla nostra altezza per la semplice ragione della cattiva attenzione proprio del proprietario stesso cui dovrebbe essere di esempio. Ma come si dice in italiano, non è l’abito che fa il monaco. Ci sono a milano molti altri ristoranti che oltre alla buona qualità del cibo hanno anche una educazione eccelsa. Questo oggi posso dire non ci arriva alle caviglie. ——- I regret having to write this review about the CALALUNA restaurant. Today in particular the experience was unpleasantly trampled by the owner. Today we lost my wife's father and I took them to spend a special moment where we shared family stories. We often have in three what you may think will not be a fortune but a nice € 190 between food and wine in addition to the usual closings of a nice dinner. Everything was going well until the moment when while still with a glass of wine to finish, two bitters and two coffees, the owner sinuously approched the table, put the bill in front of me and said in a low voice, "here is the bill, I need the table". Since each time not only I personally spend much more because my daughter and fiance as well asnother famiky members were missing, and the bill tends to surmoumt over €200 to €300, mot to mention a minimum, and I repeat minimum, € 20+ tip that in Milan is not due, I found this gesture an example of bad manners and lack of taste towards us. Obviously, I paid the bill, I did not leave a tip, not because of the waiters but because of the owner himself, and I can say I will never go back to spend my well earned money, which I can as I do wherever I take my family, I do more than what is due. I know that it will not be our absence that will cause this business to fail but knowing well Milan, where we belong and I can say we belong, it is not a restaurant at our level for the simple reason of the poor attitude led by greed from the owner who should set the example of good business manners for restaurants of this elk. As they say, it is not the habit that makes the man (an italian saying). There are many other restaurants in Milan that in addition to good quality also have excellent manners. I can say this today doesn't stand to our level.

15/04/2025: In questo ristorante si mangia del buon pesce fresco. Ottimo e rapido il servizio, consiglio di prenotare perché è sempre pieno.

11/10/2024: So I can fully confirm the “slightly arrogant” assessment in other reviews... we decided to have lunch on the spur of the moment. The signage says it's open until 3:30 p.m. today, but they probably didn't want to serve us anymore, even though it was only 2:30 p.m. and we were easily within one would have been ready in an hour and didn't want to spend the whole afternoon in the restaurant anyway, but if you don't want to, you've already got it or something, then we'd rather spend our money somewhere else... luckily there's a large selection of alternatives...

09/03/2025: While traveling on the Ligurian coast, we had dinner on two consecutive evenings: one with fish and the other with pizza. The first evening the fish was excellent, both fried and tuna in crust. On the second evening the pizza was delicious with a light and super digestible dough. Very kind staff

11/04/2025: Ci hanno servito uno alla volta e spinti più volte a causa della troppa vicinanza dei tavoli. Cotoletta scadente con la panatura che si staccava, frittura di calamari e gamberetti fritti male e scadenti. Avevamo chiesto solo i calamari fritti ma hanno aggiunto anche i gamberi, in più il prezzo era maggiorato rispetto a quello indicato sul menù. Un primo di mare senza sapore. La pizza buona rispetto alle altre pietanza. Mi dispiace di constatare che dopo la ristrutturazione avete aumentato ingiustificatamente i prezzi e abbassato la qualità.
