03/05/2026: This restaurant is right on the promenade, very well-kept and charming. We had the scampi gnocchi and the fried fish, both excellent! The staff were friendly and helpful, and everyone was very helpful. Highly recommended.

13/04/2026: The restaurant was full, but there was only one waitress, who had to bring the dishes, take the orders, count the bills, and clear the tables. Poor thing, it wasn't her fault. Service was obviously incredibly slow. The food quality doesn't justify the price. It's a historic trattoria, but the previous management probably made its mark. The current owner is probably the one who used to sit with friends, come into the kitchen, take the dishes, and serve the wine, just as if it were his own home—who knows? A place for tourists, in short.

06/05/2026: Wonderful place for lunch on a rainy day. We sat inside by the pizza station - the pizza chef was a happy woman and quite busy. Friendly staff and efficient service. About 15 minutes wait for two freshly-prepared, piping-hot excellent pizzas. About €10 each washed down with 0.5l of house Red for €10. Nice Americano to finish. Happy customers. Thank you.

01/05/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant, having wandered down an alleyway into a courtyard surrounded by lemon trees and shaded for me and sunny for Val. We drank some nice spritzers and some red wine and ate very good pizza. The majority of people eating here were Italian so authentic is the word! I would come back. In fact next time I come to Lucca I will come back

10/05/2026: Sunday lunch with a reservation. I'd been there years before and remembered the fish dishes being better quality. The appetizer was inedible tuna, and the tagliatelle verdi were good, but the sauce was too runny. The atmosphere was quiet, and the service was adequate. Prices were average for fish dishes in Viareggio.

22/02/2026: Dinner for three with six shared dishes, a dessert each, two glasses of wine, and a bottle of water. A welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the evening. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful. Dishes are carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and feature interesting pairings. You can sense the attention to quality and balance of flavors. Personally, my favorite dish was the fake shrimp pizza; I highly recommend it.

18/02/2026: A unique experience with my boyfriend. The atmosphere is relaxing and makes you almost lose track of time. The quality of the food is exceptional, and the staff is extremely professional and available to answer any questions or suggestions. The location blends a modern style with artwork created by the owner and traditional elements. We will definitely be back.

02/05/2026: A truly wonderful experience! We were greeted with great kindness and immediately made to feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy an excellent lunch on a holiday. The meat was simply fabulous, excellent quality and perfectly cooked. Special thanks to the waitress, very kind and always attentive, and to the manager, super friendly and courteous, who helped create a truly pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be back very soon and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well and feel welcomed with a smile.

02/05/2026: We had a truly excellent experience at Ristorante Antico Caffè del Sonno. After an embarrassing and unacceptable situation caused by a serious service issue elsewhere (at Bidiba, where we'd initially planned to go, the lady on the phone had taken our reservation without informing us that they would be CLOSED on the requested day: we were coming from Livorno...), this restaurant literally saved our day. Despite the hour and the difficulties, they welcomed us with great availability and professionalism, allowing us to salvage a birthday party that would otherwise have been completely ruined. The food was excellent, carefully prepared and of high quality, the service attentive and friendly, and the hospitality truly impeccable. A place we not only recommend, but that fully deserves a top rating. Thanks again for turning a difficult day into a pleasant one.

06/05/2026: The food was partly good, partly unenjoyable. My tartare tasted a bit funny, the ragu Tagliatelle was nice, there were olives inside which didn't particularly serve my taste but generally it was ok. My partners ribs were a big mistake - very hard cooked with barley any mean on them - after we complained, the dish was not added to the bill, which I found professional. Prices on the higher side, staff was polite.

15/11/2025: One of our favorite places. Even in autumn and winter—or perhaps even better than in summer. A rustic atmosphere and very attentive service. Great classics of Versilia tradition. A fine wine cellar, too.

11/05/2026: Pizza too salty nothing special..fast and prompt service, not very clean environment, ants crawling on the walls, lots of people, very chaotic, prices normal except that it was the last pizzeria left that still charges 2.5 euros per person for the cover charge with paper placemats and without even bringing bread, not bad considering that 0.75 cl of water costs 3 euros

10/05/2026: Nothing special, extremely expensive pizza, rude waiters, they tend to recommend more meters of pizza than necessary and they don't make round pizzas at all, only by the meter. I don't recommend it.

25/12/2025: The food wasn't great; the cold cuts looked like they came from a supermarket box. The place wasn't super clean and it was cold. I wouldn't recommend it for families, especially young kids.
