05/05/2025: Passing through, having read the positive reviews, we decide to stop for lunch. A real disappointment. The fixed menu consists of 4 first courses, 4 second courses and 4 very simple side dishes of your choice. Two penne all'arrabbiata which only had the name angry, roast veal, a steak, two side dishes, a quarter of loose wine with a bottle of water at the price of €37.50 for two. Considering the fixed menu and the poor quality of the product, I would say that this restaurant will never see us again.

12/05/2025: Very touristic, but food was still really good. You will find many options of the typical Lucchese and Tuscan dishes. However, service was so so, there seemed to be some drama among staff and owner / manager which affected the way we were served. The space isn’t super cozy either as it seems to be optimized for bigger groups and tourists.

04/05/2025: Located near Piazza San Francesco in Lucca, it is a historic place in the city. Typical dishes of Lucca cuisine, high quality ingredients. Excellent value for money.

Consigliatissimo .piatti molto abbondanti e ben impiattati. Unica nota negativa …..il cervo all’ingresso non c’entra molto né con il nome né col locale stesso. Ma sono gusti! Complimenti

09/05/2025: The food is delicious, but rather expensive. The “Caprese Salad” consists of just a single tomato and a ball of mozzarella, but costs €12. The “Triple Sandwich” is also tasty, but it’s not worth the €12 either.

21/10/2024: This place has been completely renovated with great care by a family from Lucca in their fourth entrepreneurial generation. Today it is called Ristoro Miglio50 and presents a menu of Italian cuisine, a good cellar and a truly interesting price-quality ratio. Must try

05/05/2025: I don’t normally leave a poor review but I believe transparency is key. As a huge foodie and having ate at many Michelin restaurants, this restaurant’s food was mediocre at best, especially at the price you are paying in Lucca. Firstly, I had the chestnut mushroom pie which I believe is one of their selling points and that dish was phenomenal, but the sea urchin pasta on the other hand was alright - nothing spectacular. In fact, I got an allergic reaction after ingesting the sea urchin pasta. Secondly, the service was horrific - the servers looked tired and absent. It was impossible to get their attention, so there are times when I had to get out of my seat in order to command their attention. Considering that half the dining room was empty, it didn’t make a lot of sense to me why I couldn’t get their attention. Also, the order of service was wrong. Water should be served before wine and not the other way around; I did not get the water I requested until after the appetizer was served. Honestly, this was a small mistake so forgivable. The biggest distaste of the entire meal was the fact that there was one server who looked highly judgmental and sluggish, and I noticed he behaved like that with all tables. I’m not sure why the service is so subpar, despite having achieved a Michelin star in the past and then renouncing it for the sake of maintaining a casual dining atmosphere. The atmosphere certainly was nothing like a casual diner - it felt pretentious and slow. The only thing casual about it was the service because it was highly unpolished. I would not recommend going here! There are plenty of other good restaurants in Lucca.

05/05/2025: It is unthinkable to spend those sums to eat in a restaurant with cheap furnishings and trattoria-style cuisine. Attentive staff, asking for those figures requires a lot of friendliness.

04/05/2025: We had a small salad snack here. Tomato burrata and a salad with tuna and olives. There was also bread. The limoncello was very tasty. We found the price a bit excessive.

19/05/2025: Last night in Lucca, the 2 of us decided to go out and found this restaurant .Looked lovely and got seated with order taken fast. Large groups came in after we had ordered and noticed about 30 minutes later they were getting their food and we had still not received ours. In total we sat for around 45 minutes with no food. When we looked over to the waiters they seemed to be shocked and ran off to get the order started. When it finally arrived. Keeping in mind it was a simply dish with no meats, it was extremely plain and they forgot our side dishes. Would not be returning!

09/05/2025: Had an excellent meal in lovely quality atmosphere. The food was excellent. Surprised by some of the other reviews. Seems like others are in a rush. It was a little slow, perhaps, but isn't that was Italian dining is all about - taking time and soaking up the atmosphere. Personally I had a lovely delicious meal and would go back.

23/03/2025: Ho preso un filetto e verdure alla griglia. COTTE BENE E GUSTOSE. Ci tengo a questa recensione perché sono stato in alcuni ristornati "gourmet" della zona e - oltre che pagare il doppio per la stessa cosa - ho mangiato molto peggio. Al Viale si mangia bene, c'è cortesia e un aria semplice, di comunità. Per chi oaice questo tipo di ambiente allora vale davvero la pena. E se invece vi importa di mangiare bene allora l'OK vale per tutti
