23/12/2024: We stayed one night. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Perfect dinner and breakfast. Excellent quality mattresses and pillows, we slept really well. Very helpful in managing the dog in the facility. Located in the hinterland, in a small but characteristic village and with the necessary services (Pharmacy, Supermarket, shops, etc). Highly recommended!!!

The managers stand out for their attention and care towards the customer, making each visit a pleasant experience. Even though it was December 30th and there was an event in town, the place was crowded but perfectly managed, without ever creating chaos. A welcoming and well-organised environment. Highly recommended!

27/12/2024: My girlfriend and I stayed in Santa Fiora for 4 days between Christmas and New Year with the idea of ​​trying out the different restaurants in the town. The first evening I came across "Il Barilotto" and the food was so good that we ended up having dinner here every evening to try the whole menu. All truly exquisite and absolutely acceptable prices. The guys who serve in the room are uniquely friendly. You guys are number one! I hope to return soon.

08/11/2024: I have been to Pizzeria Osée several times, both to eat in and for takeaway, and every time it has been an excellent experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful in finding me a seat, even at the busiest times. The variety of pizzas is remarkable: there are classic and many special pizzas to choose from, as well as the possibility of having wholemeal dough for a small supplement. In my opinion, this is the best pizza in the area! I've been to Pizzeria Osée several times, both for dining in and takeout, and each time has been a great experience. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, finding me a spot even during busy times. The variety of pizzas is impressive: they offer both classic options and many unique specialty pizzas, with the option of wholegrain dough for a small extra charge. In my opinion, this is the best pizza in the area!

08/11/2024: One of the best restaurants in Massa Marittima and also in the area near Follonica is in fact only 20 minutes away. In this restaurant managed entirely by the owner Caterina you can savor the true flavors of Tuscany and enjoy an excellent, warm and comfortable environment. I highly recommend calling and booking at least 1 or two weeks in advance to be able to have an unforgettable experience.

04/11/2024: Undoubtedly the best restaurant in Tuscany! We returned to Caterina after just 1 and a half months and I must say that when we left we were sad because we knew.... that we would have to wait another few months before being able to return. Le Fate Briache for those who don't know them is a small tavern run exclusively by the owner (Caterina) in the historic center of Massa Marittima, in front of the medieval candlestick tower. Since Caterina cooks, serves and takes care of the management, it is advisable to book at least 1 month in advance in winter and 2 months in advance in summer...but remember that, since she manages everything herself, a possible cancellation could cause considerable economic damage to the owner : this is because it only has 8/10 seats and because once the place is fully booked for the chosen date, Caterina has to reject all the reservations that arrive for that day (so if you really can't go despite having booked, canceling at the last minute, have the decency to pay the owner for dinner). For the rest, what can we say? Caterina cooks only traditional local dishes or invents based on what she finds the same day in the butcher's shop next door (Maremma breed meat from Massa Marittima), the bakery opposite and the greengrocer in the walls (0 km farm directly from her field in the countryside between Massa and Follonica). I don't review the dishes because it's useless... you won't find anything so good other than the memory of your mother cooking for you on Sunday lunch. The wine comes partly from the Carrareccia farm and from the Moris Farm where Monteregio di Massa is produced (if you want to taste the best Tuscan wine, ask if he will open a bottle of "il Fonditore" for you). If you want to try, based on the season and what the greengrocer can find, some dishes that no one will be able to cook better, ask to try: basil semifreddo as an appetizer, Maremma tortelli with taleggio cream, pici with white Cinta Senese ragù, peposo, la parmigiana and undoubtedly her grandmother's cake. 22/10/2024: Visited twice. First time the service was fine and the food was delicious. Second time the owner was happy to see us again, but the service was extremely slow and disinterested even though half the restaurant was empty. The waiter didn't even initially bother supplying us with the necessary cutlery to eat the starters. Had to ask for olive oil as well despite that everyone else had it on the table. The pasta with porcini tasted watery and bland. After asking for parmesan cheese to make it more edible, the waiter found it necessary to ridicule our request by loudly asking a group of Italian diners if they would put cheese on a pasta dish with mushrooms in it. So yeah, we didn't really feel like going back a third time.

08/12/2024: What to say.... the tagliatelle with chestnut flour and Cinta Senese ragù were delicious, while the pici all'aglione were seasoned with a mouth-watering creamy sauce. The peposo was so tender that it melted in your mouth, I have never tasted such tender and tasty meat. And finally the cake... simple, with fresh cream and lemon cream, with soft sponge cake, slightly moistened with liqueur, a delight for the palate...
