09/08/2026: We dined at Vòtapentole during our visit to Castiglione della Pescaia and were truly satisfied. We ordered a seafood pan-fried dish for two, pici with bottarga, and rock octopus. Everything was excellent, from the quality of the dishes to the presentation, and the attentive and friendly service.
We found the cuisine to be meticulous, with quality ingredients and tasty dishes, but above all, that pleasant feeling of being in a place where they truly care about what arrives on your plate.
The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the location, in the heart of Castiglione, makes the evening even more enjoyable.
Personally, I really appreciated the double serving schedule: 7:45-9:45, allowing for an evening stroll, or 9:45-11:45 for those who want to stay on the beach until late. The food is very fast, and you're served within minutes—no rush, just the right amount of time.
A well-deserved 5 stars.

20/05/2026: Crazy how bad this place is. Small portions with plain taste (e.g. Lasagna Toscana), medium temperatuere and boring presentation of food, huge waiting times. Can't recommend at all.
02/05/2026: While vacationing in Castiglione, we chose this restaurant for dinner since the hotel we were staying at didn't offer this option.
The restaurant, expertly converted from an old granary (hence the name), is very characteristic. Quality food (both seafood and meat) and fast service are provided. During busy periods, you might notice a slight hesitation from the table service staff, but it's just a small flaw that doesn't detract from the overall quality of the restaurant. Good value for money considering it's located in the historic center of Castiglione della Pescaia.

From the looks of it, an excellent selection of land and sea dishes, and I can confirm that the sea food is exceptional!
A delicious mixed fried fish accompanied by truly tasty sandwiches and seafood entrees, with just the right portions.
The quality-price ratio is more than fair, especially considering it's right in the center of Castiglione della Pescaia.
The staff is very friendly, pleasant, and professional, something that doesn't at all resonate with some of the comments found in other reviews.
These criticisms are completely incomprehensible, just as the criticisms about the quality-price ratio are incomprehensible. If the food is so good, especially considering the portions, I don't understand why there's such pointless criticism.

06/08/2026: A well-maintained, uncrowded facility with a cool, shaded lawn for relaxing.
Convenient parking with a shuttle service.
Everything is perhaps a bit overpriced.
This year, it was infested with flies.
22/07/2026: We had dinner at the restaurant and it was a fabulous experience! The place is very well-kept, located directly behind the beach club and offering a perfect view of the sunset! The fish is excellent quality and the staff is very kind and welcoming! I highly recommend it, excellent value for money (especially considering the prices here)!!

27/07/2026: We elected a different restaurant, but it was full as was our 2nd choice, it was very busy on Friday night and we underestimated business. This is slightly off main area and it was only half full.
I think they are making a mistake by have the 'courtyard' covered with straw walls, so you cannot see in or out. It is not very inviting.
Anyway, about the food, we just had a main (secondi) with some side dishes. Two had the calamari, which were nice, and my daughter had the mixed cold sea starter. A lovely looking dish that she enjoyed.
I had a steak (Vitellone) which was very disappointing. Not sure how they were able to serve that so quickly and it was tepid as well. Bit tasteless and it did not look appetising with a handful of rocket and grated Grana on top.
Have to give a shout-out for the chips (or fries), they were very nice!
I have a house red, which was atrocious, very flat and acidic. My daughter had the house white, which was very nice.
The service was friendly and very attentive.
21/07/2026: It's a great place, we've been there several times and it has never disappointed us. It has a very beautiful and cozy terrace, everyone is very friendly, and the food was delicious. I couldn't say a single negative thing about this place. I highly recommend it to everyone!

19/07/2026: Never order, just get it on the spot. I ordered a poke with 2 extra proteins and they filled my poke with wakame seaweed thinking that it wouldn't be obvious that the extra €3 of proteins I paid weren't there. What a shame that you save money on these things.
16/07/2026: Kind and helpful staff, delicious and rich poké (not skimpy like in other places), and the price is also good 🙂, possibility of eating in or taking home, the only flaw is the plastic cutlery which I personally would recommend changing with some type of more resistant and eco-friendly cutlery, such as recyclable wooden cutlery (disposable obviously), otherwise very satisfied 🙂.

14/07/2025: Incompetenti spaghetti con le vongole ? Non persistite vongole nel piatto se mai dei lupini sgusciati congelati .. mai mangiato male così senza un minimo di sapore di mare e er altro spaghetti verdi allucinante il uovo deve assolutamente andare a fare il bagnino che è meglio
11/07/2025: Castiglione della Pescaia, mare stupendo, pescherecci a due passi, eppure riescono a servire pesce che sembra arrivare da una mensa scolastica dimenticata degli anni ’80. Complimenti.
Cominciamo con l’“invitante” trilogia di alici. Sì, tre alici. Sempre le stesse, semplicemente impiattate in modo diverso per far scena. Stoppose, dure, con la coda ancora attaccata che ti ritrovi in bocca come un amo da sputare. Ma che vi costa almeno tagliarla?
Penso: dai, magari capita, saranno finite le buone. Arriva il secondo: calamaro in guazzetto. Gommoso da fare invidia a una suola di scarpa, salato da prosciugarti le labbra. Una vera impresa culinaria: rendere immangiabile anche un calamaro fresco in un paese di mare.
E ora la parte peggiore: nessuno chiede niente. Né un “tutto bene?”, né uno sguardo curioso sul piatto lasciato pieno. La sala e la cucina sapevano bene cosa stavano servendo, ma l’importante era incassare. Mi hanno preso i soldi con la stessa gentilezza con cui uno butta una cartaccia nel cestino.
Non mi aspettavo lo sconto, ma almeno una faccia seria. Un minimo di rispetto per chi esce di casa sperando di mangiare bene.
In una località così ricca di pesce vero, di tradizione, è criminale servire piatti simili. Un affronto alla cucina di mare. Ecco, spero che questa recensione serva a evitare a qualcun altro la stessa delusione.
Con tutto il cuore: non andateci

Personale molto gentile. Abbiamo mangiato l' antipasto di pesce sia crudo che cotto, molto buono e la spigola con le patate , deliziosa. Cucina molto curata.
