04/11/2025: Had an excellent meal with a group. The service was superb with the manager being incredibly hospitable and welcoming. She made sure we were looked after while we were waiting for a late arrival. The food itself with superb, the arancini special antipasto and rabbit secondi were exceptional. All of the group agreed that this was the best restaurant we'd eaten at during our many visits to Certaldo.

11/01/2026: Everything is spectacular, from the seasonal menu to the potato tortelli and the sensational desserts. Honorable mention for the deconstructed cheesecake. Super welcoming and friendly staff.

16/01/2026: How can any restaurant stand out in the wealth of wonderful dining venues in Florence? Well, Il Barretto can. The restaurant is charming, and the host and staff are wonderful, but then you are served such absolutely delicious food, and you say, "I think that we made a good choice here." It is as though every meal is prepared by someone's mother. Just stunning. Also, the wine paired so well. I cannot speak highly enough of the atmosphere, the service, and the exceptional food. The location of the restaurant is perfect for a pre-cocktail at Uggi or other venues. If I were you, I would go out of my way to dine at Il Barretto.

16/01/2026: Great dining experience across the board! The atmosphere is remarkable -- elegant but effortlessly comfortable. We split a Burrata as a starter, and it was deeply flavorful. For mains we had a Black Truffle Taglitelli and Ossobucco with a side of their potatoes. Every bite was a treat. We enjoyed a really nice Tuscan blend red wine that the waiter recommended (wish we had noted the name), and it paired very well with both our mains. We were far too full to order a dessert, but it was tempting. We had some terrific dining experiences in Firenza, and this is at the top of our list. Ben fatto!!

14/01/2026: We went there with 50% discount from the fork ,but they made only 30 % discount . Unfortunately we didn't notice that while we were still at the restaurant . The food I would say is good but not exelent .

31/01/2026: We had a very warm and appreciated welcome; the waiter who served us was very kind. The pappa al pomodoro was truly delicious, and the choice to serve it with burrata was also appreciated. We tried the pici strascicati for the first time and will definitely try again; it was probably the best dish of the evening. For main course, we had ossobuco, cooked to perfection and very flavorful. For dessert, we had tiramisu, and when we noticed that the flavor was "different" from what we expected, we were immediately served a new one, which, for our slight inconvenience, was kindly offered to us. Prices are a little high, but it's worth considering that you can get discounts (The Fork) and that the restaurant is 200 meters from the Duomo. I'll probably go back to try the Florentine steak 😁

29/01/2026: I had the most delicious pasta! ✨ Cacio e pepe is a simple pasta dish made with just cheese and black pepper, but the saltiness of the cheese was strong, yet not overpowering, and it was absolutely delicious! The staff were also friendly, and I had a wonderful time! Grazie‼︎

19/10/2025: Lunch with friends, the food was delicious and the service excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating to our requests. We had three pregnant women, and they were very helpful in accommodating their requests. The Florentine steak was delicious, as were the other dishes. Recommended!

What made the experience even more special was the atmosphere cozy, welcoming, and full of character. You can really feel the passion behind everything they do. If you’re in Florence and want to experience genuine local food and the warmth of a true Italian family, don’t miss this place. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

03/01/2026: Highly recommended for lunch near the Strozzi Palace and the Uffizi Gallery. Excellent pasta, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Home-style, family-run food. The tagliatelle with pesto was wonderful, and the gnocchi with tomato sauce was also very good. We didn't take pictures of the main courses, but we thoroughly enjoyed them. Prices are typical for the area; not cheap, but not expensive either. Perhaps the best value for money we found in our four days in Florence. We were there a few days ago and didn't want to miss the opportunity to write a review. Thank you.

01/11/2025: La Botteghe di Donatello is an amazing restaurant, the atmosphere is cozy and pleasant, the food is excellent, and the service is outstanding. We went there several times during our stay in Florence, and every visit was wonderful. I’d like to give special thanks to Norbert, who welcomed us warmly and was very attentive and friendly. Without a doubt, an exceptional professional.

13/01/2026: Fantastic meal for lunch, quiet secluded with WiFi, welcoming and we enjoyed a nice bottle of Santa Cristina Merlot, salad, burrata with truffles and sun-dried tomatoes, and shared a risotto with hazelnut and turnip sauce and white sauce. Delicious! Would love to return

14/02/2026: Attracted by the many positive reviews and the fact that I could book through TheFork, I decided to try it. The menu is extensive, with options for all tastes, including fish. What I didn't like was that I ordered a Tbone and it came without the fillet, and then, rechecking the receipt, I asked for the less expensive version and got that anyway. Otherwise, the taste wasn't bad, but these things left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
