16/01/2026: Great dining experience across the board! The atmosphere is remarkable -- elegant but effortlessly comfortable. We split a Burrata as a starter, and it was deeply flavorful. For mains we had a Black Truffle Taglitelli and Ossobucco with a side of their potatoes. Every bite was a treat. We enjoyed a really nice Tuscan blend red wine that the waiter recommended (wish we had noted the name), and it paired very well with both our mains. We were far too full to order a dessert, but it was tempting. We had some terrific dining experiences in Firenza, and this is at the top of our list. Ben fatto!!

16/01/2026: How can any restaurant stand out in the wealth of wonderful dining venues in Florence? Well, Il Barretto can. The restaurant is charming, and the host and staff are wonderful, but then you are served such absolutely delicious food, and you say, "I think that we made a good choice here." It is as though every meal is prepared by someone's mother. Just stunning. Also, the wine paired so well. I cannot speak highly enough of the atmosphere, the service, and the exceptional food. The location of the restaurant is perfect for a pre-cocktail at Uggi or other venues. If I were you, I would go out of my way to dine at Il Barretto.

06/03/2026: We were staying in Stada at a farmhouse down the road about 2 minutes away. This restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The food is very nice and the service is professional. We liked it so much that we went back on our last evening in the area. The peposo is wonderful!!!

31/03/2026: Visually, the place looked very authentic, but unfortunately, that's the only plus. Guests' preferences are irrelevant here. I asked for a Filetto al Brunello di Montalcino and specified that I wanted it well done. The waiter nodded and said it was perfect. But when the meat arrived, it was completely raw and rare inside, not even medium. I told the waiter that this wasn't the doneness I'd ordered, to which he responded with a "stunning" response: it was impossible to cook this steak well done. Why he hadn't told me this up front remains a mystery. He suggested I cut it into pieces and have it cooked that way. I agreed, happy that I'd finally get what I'd ordered, but disappointment awaited me here too. When they brought my dish again, the slices were cooked a bit more well done, right at medium. But still not well done. I didn't have the energy to argue anymore, and I was too hungry, so I ate them, but I'll be honest, I think this kind of service is disgusting. If a chef's morals, religion, or any other reason prevent him from preparing the meat the way a customer requests, they should at least warn them in advance (although I can't imagine why it's impossible to cook the meat properly; that's the bare minimum). I was angry, my impressions were completely negative, and I didn't enjoy the food at all.

23/03/2026: Fantastic experience: the food was delicious and served quickly, with a smile. We received explanations about the wine, and the meal ended with a complimentary limoncello.

The food was incredible all homemade, traditional Tuscan recipes that were clearly prepared with love and care. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor, from the fresh pasta to the slow-cooked sauces and rustic desserts. It felt like being invited into a local family’s kitchen. What made the experience even more special was the atmosphere cozy, welcoming, and full of character. You can really feel the passion behind everything they do. If you’re in Florence and want to experience genuine local food and the warmth of a true Italian family, don’t miss this place. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

03/01/2026: Highly recommended for lunch near the Strozzi Palace and the Uffizi Gallery. Excellent pasta, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Home-style, family-run food. The tagliatelle with pesto was wonderful, and the gnocchi with tomato sauce was also very good. We didn't take pictures of the main courses, but we thoroughly enjoyed them. Prices are typical for the area; not cheap, but not expensive either. Perhaps the best value for money we found in our four days in Florence. We were there a few days ago and didn't want to miss the opportunity to write a review. Thank you.

31/03/2026: A truly wonderful restaurant in a city of wonderful restaurants. Ranging from exceptional Tuscan dishes to Asian/Spanish fusion, Caffe has become one of my favorites. Service exceeds expectations. Amazing wine list. Creative, delicious dishes. The cherry on the cake is the amazing Arno/sunset views.

04/04/2026: I ordered soup and lasagna, my wife had pizza. Soup and pizza came at the same time. Lasagna came 20 minutes after I finished my soup. Lasagna although hot seemed to be like a congealed square of pasta.

16/03/2026: I asked for a T-bone steak and a light dish, but due to what seemed like a communication error, they gave me pasta instead. However, all the food tasted good. It was a shame I couldn't fully enjoy the pasta because I was already full. Still, it was a good experience. Recommended.

15/03/2026: The bistecca (steak) is ordered in 1.2kg portions, so I was worried whether the two of us could finish it, but the meat was so tender and delicious that we finished it in no time. If I have the chance to come to Florence again, I would definitely like to go there.
