26/12/2025: The menu wasn't updated online. We sat down and found only ready-made pasta sauces displayed at the counter, and a very salty pasta with clams, off-menu. Fresh fish by the kilo? None. Fish meatballs? Purchased pre-made and of poor quality. Swordfish rolls were very dry. The worst thing was that fried calamari, marinated shrimp, and pasta with bottarga were delivered to the table next to ours (all off-menu dishes that no one had informed us about). The only positive note of the lunch was the seafood salad. Never again.

08/01/2026: We went for New Year's Eve dinner...and I have to say we were speechless. The menu was à la carte, but every fish dish was delicious! The quality of the fish was excellent, especially the raw fish and the pasta dishes. The best restaurant in Mazara! I recommend it to everyone.

15/03/2026: I visited this trattoria for the first time about six years ago and have been back several times since. It's one of those places where, when you love someone, you just want to say, "I have to take you there." A local recommended the trattoria, and since then I've always booked through TheFork, even when there weren't any special discounts. After returning several times, I even chose to celebrate my birthday here, precisely because it's a place I enjoy sharing with loved ones. The food is worth it: the busiate are fresh, and the first courses are generally really good. I also booked because the reviews mentioned gluten-free pasta. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the only gluten-free option available was spaghetti. It's a shame, because being in the Trapani area—where busiate are a true specialty—it would be a wonderful treat for those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance to be able to find them in a gluten-free version. We shared an appetizer and then had three different first courses and three different desserts, all very good. The service is handled by practically just one woman in the dining room, so you might have to wait a bit, but she was always kind and apologized several times for the delays. Another small complaint concerns the view: unfortunately, construction going on nearby is ruining the view a bit. It's hard to understand how anyone could even consider building right in front of such a place, risking ruining the landscape. That said, the food is good, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the prices are fair: I treated my friends to lunch, and it wasn't expensive at all. I'll definitely be back again.

22/03/2026: A restaurant and pizzeria just steps from the main street. The restaurant is rustic but charming and tastefully furnished, adorned with beautiful paintings. The menu features Sicilian dishes, some with a modern twist. The pizza is delicious: thin and crispy, easy to digest, and offers a variety of flavors, from traditional to more original. In summer, you can dine in the front garden around a beautiful cycad.

18/03/2026: We went to this place because a nearby pizzeria was closed (we were looking for a warm pizza given the cold day). Once in, at the time we where about to order the food the woman told us that they didn’t have pizza at lunch time, that it is only for the afternoons. Is that hard to put a notice outside stating it? We wanted to see the town during the day to have light, how come pizzas are only at night? The food was ok but we didn’t have the amounts other comments seems to have had. Inside the restaurant it was very cold, it’s a very big room with stone walls and they were saving money. At the end the food, ourselves and the experience got cold. Awful experience that made us leave the town immediately. Good riddance.

25/09/2025: The food here was very creative and tasty. I had the "lasagna" which was layers of steak and vegetables with melted cheese on top and it was excellent. My wife had the gluten free pasta and that was also very good. One of the best meals we've had in our two weeks here in Sicily. Anil the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately there was hardly anyone there when we were there and the interior was a bit basic.

14/10/2025: My mother and I arrived here. We had planned to eat, but we decided to have a glass of wine. So we asked for the menu and ended up giving it back because we only wanted a glass of wine. A grumpy face immediately appeared. Well, we just accepted that until the bill finally arrived. €20 for two glasses of house wine. How badly can you get ripped off? I'd say if you only want a drink, go somewhere else quickly, because they'll rip you off right here.

07/12/2025: PortoMatto in Avola was a delightful discovery. I ordered a first course, a truly delicious risotto: well-creamed, flavorful, but never heavy. The restaurant is elegant, with attention to detail, and the background music is not too loud and very pleasant, allowing for a peaceful conversation. Special praise goes to the table service: professional, attentive, but never intrusive. I'd especially like to highlight the kindness and empathy of the waiter, Giovanni, who really worked hard to find a solution for my wife's particularly restricted diet, trying to accommodate her in every way possible. In the end, she didn't order anything, but his face showed genuine disappointment, a sign of genuine care for the customer. Overall, a very positive experience: highly recommended.

11/03/2026: This was recommended by our hotel concierge as one of her favorite places in the area, and now it has become ours! We visited our first night in town and made it back again for our last. The owner is very friendly and makes it a personal experience. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. Great selection of local wines. We hope to return!
