10/09/2025: I ordered the grilled octopus with pistachio cream. The dish itself was good and beautifully presented, but unfortunately the octopus was burned. It also seemed like the grill hadn't been cleaned properly, leaving a bitter aftertaste that ruined the experience. The Melodia pasta was really good.
08/09/2025: Excellent cuisine, an interesting menu featuring a variety of high-quality ingredients. Try the "Sciccheria" pasta, with red shrimp, pistachios, salted ricotta, and cherry tomatoes. Delicious! The owners are extremely kind, helpful, and friendly.

03/09/2025: A necessary preface: I've worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years, so I know that a "bad night" can happen to anyone, even the best. For this reason, I always approach things with understanding. However, my experience at Sabir was unfortunately very disappointing, especially considering the restaurant's expectations and location. The welcome was virtually nonexistent: upon arrival, there was no one to greet us, and only after a few minutes did we find a waiter to show us to our table. Once we ordered, we had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for our first course. Meanwhile, amuse-bouche were served, placed on the table without any explanation or presentation: a detail that, in an experience of this caliber, truly makes all the difference. The service, unfortunately, proved to be unsympathetic and very disorganized throughout the dinner. The waiters were clearly sluggish, there was little communication between them, and the dishes were served without any explanation or attention. In fact, when we asked for an explanation of a dish, we were told, "I don't know, ask a colleague." Other tables around us expressed the same discomfort, creating a surreal and awkward atmosphere. Culinary-wise, the quality of the ingredients is undoubtedly good, even if not particularly innovative. However, without proper explanations and a modicum of storytelling, one ends up appreciating them far less than they deserve. The conclusion wasn't any better: I ordered a whiskey to finish the meal, but it was simply placed on the table, without even specifying the type, without a separate glass of water or ice, and without the slightest attention. The real disappointment, beyond the individual incidents, was never receiving—over the course of the three hours spent at the restaurant—a simple question like, "How's dinner going?" A gesture of thoughtfulness that would have allowed for immediate constructive feedback to the staff. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I believe a restaurant like Sabir should offer an experience that goes far beyond the dish itself, justifying the price and the name it represents. Unfortunately, on this occasion, that wasn't the case.

15/08/2025: A real discovery! I ate divinely at Andreas in Taormina... I have to thank my two friends Joe and Gabriella for taking me there. The ingredients were of the highest quality; I've tried other restaurants in Taormina, but none can even begin to compare. The best? The raw fish appetizer: incredibly fresh, with attention to detail, it's truly spectacular. Every bite was an explosion of flavor! Attentive and professional service. An experience I absolutely must repeat, highly recommended!! Definitely, absolutely, one of the best restaurants in Taormina 👌🐟🍷

18/07/2025: Amazing first meal in Sicily. I had the seafood pasta, it was either a special or they made it on request. Lots of seafood and delicious sauce. My wife had a very flavorful pasta with red wine sauce and pork. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere is great.

02/09/2025: A popular place in the best sense of the word, I was pleasantly surprised by the food and service. This place was recommended to me, and the first time I was in the area, I took advantage of it. I'm happy with my choice and will definitely return. Family dinner with two children, even on a Saturday night, and the service was as good as those in the historic center, if not better. The abundance of food, the quality of the dishes, and the objectively fair prices make this place a solid choice. Recommended!

05/09/2025: We had dinner at this traditional restaurant, sampling various tasty busiate pasta dishes with delicious toppings, such as the fresh, light Trapani pesto. We also tried the flavorful fish couscous accompanied by a delicious sauce. The restaurant is in the historic center, traditionally decorated, and the staff is helpful and attentive. Highly recommended!
04/09/2025: The swordfish with burrata and pistachio sauce was excellent. However, the couscous was very average. The semolina resembled bulgur, and the fish was dry. No wine recommendations here. We opted for dessert at the pastry shop across the street.

10/09/2025: What an incredible experience at Villa Ducale. EVERYTHING exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, their team made us feel so comfortable. The front desk ladies gave us a glass of champagne, gave us directions and let us check in early. The hotel and rooms were beautiful and had the best views in all of Taormina. The restaurant, food and ambiance was divine! The staff knew it was my birthday, sang me happy birthday and gave me cannoli and tiramisu. Overall, the experience was incredible. Thank you so much to the staff for making the such an amazing stay!
09/09/2025: BEST HOTEL Experience & staff is amazing. My husband and I didn’t want to leave. Honestly it should be considered a 5 star hotel based on the rooms and quality of service you get. They have a shuttle to take you into town and are so accommodating.

05/07/2025: Let me set the scene: it’s 19:30 on a warm June evening, the kind where the sky melts into gold, a breeze wraps around you like a silk scarf, and swallows swoop through the air like they were choreographed just for your arrival. You take a tiny glass elevator to the top floor of the Grand Hotel Ortigia and boom—you step into one of the most elegant rooftop settings in Sicily. We had called just the day before to book and were lucky to find a spot (end of June = still doable, but I’d reserve ahead if you’re coming in high season). We were seated on the terrace—front-row seats to the most cinematic sunset over Ortigia, with boats drifting in the background and the sea stretching endlessly before us. The food? Let’s talk about that polpo. “Polpo doppia cottura su crema di patate” sounds poetic—and it is. Tender, rich, and the kind of dish you order as a secondo but secretly wish you could eat for every course. Then came the pasta: pistachio pesto and shelled clams swimming in a vibrant green sauce. Balanced, bright, and exactly what summer on a Sicilian rooftop should taste like. Service was very professional. We sat outside on the terrace, but there’s also refined indoor seating if the weather doesn’t play nice. We parked at Parcheggio Molo Sant’Antonio using EasyPark (about a 10-minute scenic walk along the lungomare) it’s large, easy, and feels like part of the experience. There may be closer options, but the stroll is worth it. Would I go again? In a heartbeat. And next time, I’m ordering dessert too.
29/06/2025: My son and I came for my birthday dinner. Service was grand. We were dressed casually with no problem. The grouper fish and the veal were very good as well as the steamed shrimp. Drinks were ridiculously priced. $20 for a mojito and $26 for a suggested italian gin and tonic. The views are amazing.
