26/12/2025: The menu wasn't updated online. We sat down and found only ready-made pasta sauces displayed at the counter, and a very salty pasta with clams, off-menu. Fresh fish by the kilo? None. Fish meatballs? Purchased pre-made and of poor quality. Swordfish rolls were very dry. The worst thing was that fried calamari, marinated shrimp, and pasta with bottarga were delivered to the table next to ours (all off-menu dishes that no one had informed us about). The only positive note of the lunch was the seafood salad. Never again.

25/11/2025: The place has a great atmosphere. The food portions are decent, though some of us (6 of us) were left half-eaten. We ordered pasta and fish (sea bass). Delicious. Unfortunately, we arrived before closing time (3 p.m.) and the dishes were undercooked. The pasta was too hard, and the potatoes served with the fish were also hard. Hence the only 3 stars. The service was okay.

01/05/2026: I recently visited this restaurant and had a truly fantastic experience. The staff was immediately welcoming and professional. The food was simply excellent: carefully prepared dishes and quality ingredients. Each course was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. The live music made the evening even more special, creating the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy dinner. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food, excellent service, and a pleasant overall experience!

07/12/2025: PortoMatto in Avola was a delightful discovery. I ordered a first course, a truly delicious risotto: well-creamed, flavorful, but never heavy. The restaurant is elegant, with attention to detail, and the background music is not too loud and very pleasant, allowing for a peaceful conversation. Special praise goes to the table service: professional, attentive, but never intrusive. I'd especially like to highlight the kindness and empathy of the waiter, Giovanni, who really worked hard to find a solution for my wife's particularly restricted diet, trying to accommodate her in every way possible. In the end, she didn't order anything, but his face showed genuine disappointment, a sign of genuine care for the customer. Overall, a very positive experience: highly recommended.

26/04/2026: We chose to dine here during an overnight stay in the area, and it couldn't have been a better choice. It's a small, very well-kept restaurant, with extremely helpful staff, including the waitress who was very friendly and engaging. The selection of local wines is truly interesting, with the owner guiding you through the selection based on your dishes. We tried the appetizers, first courses, and second courses, all truly excellent, made with local ingredients. Fair prices.

07/06/2026: There were four of us in Castelbuono for the flower festival. We booked at Cycas after reading the reviews. It's not our first time in Castelbuono, but we'd never been to this restaurant before. It was a perfect choice... We were greeted very warmly and guided through our choices. We ordered an appetizer for two, but we split it between the four of us, and I must say we were right because we enjoyed the rest of the meal that way. Then we had two first courses, two second courses, and finally two desserts. Everything was truly excellent. The price was commensurate with the quality. We'll be back.

07/06/2026: Great experience! It’s the second time I come and it definitely lived up to expectations. I had the same meals as the previous time three years ago (squid ink pasta, seafood pasta with pistachio and grilled octopus) and they were just as good. They have a nice terrace hidden away from the main road. The service is also good. I’ll definitely come back again

17/05/2026: After my first not so good meal in Italy in 3 weeks last night, I spotted Trattoria da Nuccio on a small side street off the busy area in Catania historic centre. So glad I did. It was perfect, exactly what I wanted, a simple delicious lunch at reasonable cost, with great service. I had the Cotto a Sote de Pesce (cooked fish stew) with a side of grilled red peppers, and bread for dipping. Fantastic.

17/05/2026: I want to enjoy my food 100% – unfortunately, that wasn't the case there. My appetizer – raw shrimp – tasted of nothing but smelled rather strange. The pasta was supposed to be with garlic and chili, but it had hardly any flavor and no spice at all; the sauce was watery. I haven't eaten this badly in two months in Sicily. And the cover charge was a joke – just dry bread, no oil or butter, no seasoning whatsoever: €5 per person!!

23/12/2025: The place is similar to a trattoria, but with portions reminiscent of a fine-dining restaurant. Good, local food, simply prepared, reminiscent of home cooking (a much appreciated aspect). Fast service, though the dishes are not coordinated. The bathroom is spotless. The prices are a bit high.

21/04/2026: Extremely slow service. The person who takes the order sets the table, brings drinks, and serves... All ONE TABLE AT A TIME, and until they're done, they don't take another order. They also don't keep track of who arrives, so you could wait an hour. The pizza on the menu has very unique and delicious flavors, but in person, the dough is a bit chewy. The pizza arrived burned on the bottom and with burnt bubbles on top. Other than that? What can I say!? I wouldn't go back.
