12/03/2025: Piacevolissima serata passata in compagnia di buoni amici, il tutto accompagnato da buon vino e ottimo cibo. A farla da padrone la qualità dei prodotti che vanno di pari passo con gli abbinamenti azzeccati che danno vita a piatti ricercati. Consigliatissimo

25/01/2025: The Villa Ducale is a beautiful little boutique hotel on the hillside of Taormina, the rooms are beautifully furnished and offer every comfort, the shower in the bathroom was also incredibly good as it had a built-in waterfall. The view from the balcony was magnificent; in the morning you could enjoy the sunrise in peace. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, the lady at reception even spoke perfect German which was a pleasant surprise. The view from the in-house restaurant is stunning both at breakfast and dinner.

02/11/2024: Mi familia y yo cenamos en el restaurante de Villa Ducale después de un día de cata de vinos en la bodega Gambino cerca del Monte Etna. Tuvimos la suerte de compartir el restaurante con un par de otras partes. Los platos eran de lujo y tenían perfiles de sabor bien equilibrados. Todo lo que pedimos era delicioso. ¡Nada quedó en nuestros platos! Las bebidas especiales también eran fantásticas. También teníamos una botella de vino tinto que era sorprendentemente bien precio por lo bueno que era. Prueba un vino nero d'avola si te gustan los vinos tintos de sabor profundo. La vista aquí también es de primera categoría. Tiene vistas al monte Etna con una vista impresionante del Mediterráneo. ¡Si eliges comer aquí, no te arrepentirás!

19/10/2024: Sono stato a Messina e prima di salutarla ho pensato fosse l'occasione per portare via con me un souvenir. Un souvenir diverso dal solito, un qualcosa che potesse rappresentare un'eccellenza siciliana. Un qualcosa che potesse rappresentare il buon gusto dei siciliani. Ed ecco che ho pensato alla pasticceria tipica siciliana: dove i prodotti altro non sono che "Arte" raffinata. Mi sono affidato al web chiedendo: miglior pasticceria di Messina. E quindi mi sono incamminato per raggiungerla. Ottima scelta e ottimo consiglio. Qualsiasi parola aggiunta a questa recensione sarebbe superflua perché bisogna andarci, gustare e poi commentare. La qualità non va controllata ma costruita! Provare per credere.

25/08/2024: Tappa obbligata ogni volta che si sosta a Messina per imbarcarsi. Personale molto cordiale e disponibile, pronto a richieste particolari e disposto alle spiegazioni di rito per chi non è del posto. Ma le cosa più sorprendente sono i sapori superlativi dei cannoli e della pasta di mandorla che producono. È il 2° viaggio che faccio in Sicilia per vacanza e ad ogni sbrco/imbarco devo fermarmi obbligatoriamente per assaggiare i loro prodotti. Prezzi vantaggiosi. Per chi volesse portare via i cannoli e deve affrontare un lungo viaggio, si sono attrezzati provvedendo tutto l'occorrente in maniera scomposta (ricotta in contenitore termico, granella e cannoli vuoti) in modo da salvaguardare la freschezza dei prodotti. Ottimo, bravissimi.

31/12/2024: Pretty local restaurant with nice dish options. The food is simple, well prepared, and delicious. The service is good and the lady speaks good English. We had four different dishes (meat and chicken grill, fried chicken, pasta carbonara) and half a liter house wine, we paid 53€.

11/03/2025: Intimate and particular, As soon as you enter you immediately perceive a strong education and courtesy towards the customer. The menu was a real sensorial journey, food of the highest quality and prepared by expert hands, The selection of wines is vast and the waitstaff extremely well trained. Definitely not for all budgets But we must know how to give value and credit to those who have known and continue to know how to make an art of cooking I had a wonderful evening. I recommend it to those who have a good appetite and are looking for intimate and quiet places Ps.the huge posters of ancient Italian films They provided a beautiful setting for the dinner. 18/03/2025: As a solo traveller, diner, and lover of food it is very important to me that where I dine feels both special and comfortable. This was hands down the best restaurant I visited during my time in Sicily. The food was outstanding. I have a hard time eating in public but cleaned every plate! The wine was also very good. I would have to say though that the service was what really made the experience perfect. I believe the chef’s husband was the host and I could tell there was love in that place because the service and atmosphere was fantastic.

17/02/2025: Enchanting place in a building with an ancient lemon house in the center of Modica... top cuisine... it's a surprise that catches us at the end of Vicolo Napolitano which is certainly not an avenue. The well-spaced and excellently set tables are caressed by magical gusts of coolness and invite quiet conversation. This is a rare characteristic to which to give the value it deserves as well as to the owner and chef, master of younger chefs, who never ceases to amaze by highlighting the ancient recipes of Sicilian cuisine masterfully revisited. It represents an event not to be missed and offers the possibility of appreciating the variations of the menu that change according to the season. Last night's visit allowed us to confirm the assessment One year later and with the Covid disaster involved, tonight 15 July after 1600 km between yesterday and today we wanted to celebrate here with Gianluca and Emilia the embrace of our Sicily almost as if the task of welcoming us was entrusted to them. Sublime dinner... UPDATE today 5 May 2021. I called Emilia who confirmed the news: for this season she will be at Ciccio Sultano's Bistrot I Banchi and Gianluca at the Duomo of Ragusa also by Ciccio Sultano. UPDATE JULY 2022: together they collaborate with Lorenzo Ruta at the Taverna Migliore in Modica

04/03/2025: In my opinion it is the best restaurant in the area. We had a week's holiday and went there three times. The freshness and quality of the raw material is excellent. The perfect service and the staff is always ready to provide perfect advice on what to order. Generous portions. I recommend you take the fish crudité because it is sublime. Excellent value for money. Parking available and free in front of the restaurant

21/02/2025: Very pleasant location, good food and there is also a wide choice. The service is good. Prices appropriate to what you choose, but it is better to have The Fork or similar to avoid any extra surprises in the bill

The cuisine is the same image, not knowing how to choose between tradition and modernity. The dishes are tasty. Nice wine and grappa list. Accurate and fast service.

21/02/2025: I return after a few years, and I find the place has changed a lot: very elegant, always excellent food, punctual service. The only flaw: the lights from the ceiling hit you a little in the eyes, but just don't look up... after all, the show is at the table!

25/01/2025: En nuestro viaje desde taormina hacia Catania, nos sorprendió gratamente este pequeño restaurante en San Gregorio, no lo podíamos creer, el 90% del restaurante estaba reservado, y nos comentan que todos los días, su gran cava, y pedimos la el plato de degustación con un número gigantesco de platos con sabores explosivos. Y más agradable, aún es el servicio con que nos trataron en nuestro propio idioma español. Especial mención, los calamares fritos. No te pierdas la oportunidad.

20/03/2025: The wonderful atmosphere of a Sicilian home ❤️ Excellent pizza with burrata and risotto with seafood. Huge portions, unfortunately, there was no room for dessert.

13/03/2025: I went with my friend to this place. The waiter was very kind. And the food wasn't that bad. The only negative thing is that I asked the owner, if I'm not mistaken, if it was possible to have a table inside the restaurant because it was terribly hot! And the gentleman of a certain age told me: that it was not possible to eat inside the restaurant. And it was much HOTTER inside 🥵 I said: ok, no problem. At the end of our meals, I had to pay inside the venue. And when I go to pay, I see the place with people eating, empty tables and cool, cool air conditioning. And the very calm gentleman sitting there receiving payments. This means he lied. It wasn't hot inside. He just didn't want to serve us the way we wanted. Especially because I suffer from the heat a lot and I needed some cool air. But one thing is certain: I will NEVER return!

09/03/2025: My sweetheart and I were guests of the facility for an afternoon, through a Spa package that offered, in addition to the wellness program, a tasting of three red wines. The environment is welcoming and incredibly relaxing right from the Reception. Once we arrived, they accompanied us to the pedestrian path that surrounds the internal patio where the swimming pool dominates. A walk that ends with the entrance to the Spa. In my opinion, the latter is small but structured in a decidedly functional way, everything very clean. The staff is kind and empathetic. After the wellness program, they made us sit in a room and served us the wines together with the finger food, all very good. I remember with great pleasure the person who served us, Mr. Claudio. An example of how one should work. He served us impeccably, explaining in detail each wine and the food served. I could add more positive things to our experience but I won't go on. In an area where every reception facility flaunts itself, in my opinion Pietre Nere is a world apart, made of elegance, refinement and relaxation.

04/03/2025: Beautiful experience..Location immersed in the Modica countryside, unique in its kind. I highly recommend trying it. The only 4-star point, the SPA, small, lacks the pool that would bring it to 5 stars.. The staff is top.. I will gladly return.
