10/05/2026: For us, Il Sorriso is a family restaurant. The cuisine is always top-notch, featuring traditional dishes that no one makes anymore. The owners always make you feel at home. The only downside is that the prices have risen quite a bit, but they're still in line with restaurants of the same caliber.

27/05/2026: My partner and I went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening. We waited a long time before being told the menu, and we also waited a long time for the dishes; in fact, the appetizer arrived after an hour. Unfortunately, there are only two waiters on a Saturday evening, especially when one is only explaining the menu while the other takes care of everything else. Faster service would certainly have made the evening less stressful. Overall, the dishes were well-executed, with an excellent Russian salad, which I really enjoyed even though I'm not a fan of it. Unfortunately, my first course was very disappointing: homemade pasta with meat sauce. The pasta was good but nothing exceptional, and the meat sauce was awful—most likely, they don't make it themselves. I felt like I was eating ready-made meat sauce from the supermarket. The restaurant offers many traditional Piedmontese dishes, with agricultural objects and traditional references everywhere. Perhaps a little too much and a bit messy. Overall, I wouldn't go back because there wasn't anything that impressed me, in fact the evening wasn't very pleasant and we couldn't wait to go home.

28/05/2026: I'll start by saying that the place is delightful, and the people who served me were very kind, smiling, and professional! I'll start by saying that I always give 5-star reviews because I believe hard work should always be rewarded and never undermined... but I have to admit that paying 25 euros for a salad (the one in the photo... not the nouvelle cousine or special salad with imported salmon) and a glass of Chardonnay... seems really excessive! I've never paid so much for a salad and a glass of wine, not in Milan, Nice, Mykonos, or Ibiza! It's perfectly fair to charge 30 or 40 euros for a dish that deserves it, but a salad for lunch in Bossolasco is still a salad for lunch in Bossolasco.

30/04/2026: A really nice restaurant where you feel right at home. Delicious grilled meats and pizzas! Dogs are very welcome.

03/05/2026: This restaurant is located on Lake Candia, right by the water. Seating is available both inside and outside on a large terrace. There's also a garden area on the lakeshore where aperitifs are served (even for those who won't be dining at the restaurant). Everything is meticulously maintained, and the view of the lake, especially at sunset, is enchanting. Returning to the restaurant: the menu focuses on seafood and isn't extensive, but emphasizes quality and seasonality (the scardovari mussels are exceptional, when available). The catch of the day is always available off-menu (we caught an excellent turbot). But overall, everything I've tried is of excellent quality, workmanship, and presentation. The classic raw seafood (scampi, shrimp) and oysters are also available. I saw a paella pass by and thought it was excellent in appearance and preparation. I'll be back soon to try it. The menu also features meat-based dishes (including pasta dishes and cuts of meat that are definitely worth trying). The wine list is very interesting, including selections from niche local producers (Erbaluce and Passito). The service is very efficient, passionate, and courteous. Prices are absolutely reasonable considering the quality. In short, an excellent restaurant (without a doubt the best in the area for seafood) in a charming location. Highly recommended.

01/06/2026: Every year we treat ourselves to dinner at this inn, with a top-notch restaurant. The option of both indoor and outdoor seating is noteworthy. The location, in a tiny village, is certainly not attractive. The place is impressive, both inside and out. I won't go into detail about the dishes; they're all truly excellent; you're spoiled for choice. The wine cellar is top-notch, but for those like me, there are some wines available by the glass. The service is good, but I think they could add bread plates. The bill is reasonable, but it's worth it.

18/05/2026: Veruno (with Gattico after the merger) is known for the Maugeri Clinic, where those who have undergone various types of surgery go for rehabilitation. I didn't expect to find a sumptuously furnished "Trattoria con Alloggio" (as it says after a Google search) frequented by numerous foreigners. L'Olimpia (this is the name of the restaurant featured in today's gastronomic investigation) is located in the town center, near the parish church. Inconspicuous from the outside, once inside, you find yourself in welcoming rooms arranged around a courtyard used on sunny summer days, where an olive tree takes pride of place (somewhat poorly pollarded to control a tree eager to reach the sun's rays). We are greeted by the owner, Mr. Matteo Greco, who leaves us in the hands of the dining room staff, composed, we believe, of long-time experts alongside younger, yet solidly trained, staff. As always, we're the first guests in the room, so we're quickly provided with menus, while the wine list, we're told, can be accessed via a QR code printed on a card placed on our table. The menu is divided into a land-based menu and a seafood menu. We opt for the latter because the lovely evening tempts us with fresher, lighter fare. We begin with pickled perch fillets on a bed of lamb's lettuce, followed by tagliolini with nettles, Mazzara shrimp tartare, and Salina capers for the main course, and conclude with grilled cuttlefish and squid, accompanied by baked potatoes for me and cooked vegetables for Watson. For dessert, a simple green apple sorbet. A coffee concludes the dinner, which is accompanied from appetizer to dessert by a bottle of Roberto Garbarino's Alta Langa L'istinto rosé extra brut 2021. Chef Sebastiano Greco, the owner's father, knows his stuff in the kitchen, and everything is well-prepared, though I didn't find the extra something in the dishes I'd expected from such a prestigious location. Mind you, from appetizers to dessert, I found everything delicious, but it lacked the charm I found throughout the restaurant. Maybe it's just a one-off evening for me or the kitchen, or maybe it's the change of season that also changes the menus... Further investigation will be necessary soon. In the meantime, I recommend trying it and giving your own opinion.

13/05/2026: The second of our two favorite places. Very small (seating only 30 something), a true family (husband and wife?) restaurant featuring creative local cuisine excellently prepared. Very helpful with the wine recommendations. We went twice as couples and found everything from the pastas to the fish and steak to be excellent. Desserts were truly outstanding, and a great wine list also. Due to the intimate size and quality, reservations are strongly recommended.

05/02/2026: What can I say, a unique experience with unique dishes. I chose the "percorsi" tasting menu. AMAZING. An experience you absolutely must do if you're in the area.

02/02/2026: The restaurant is surrounded by somewhat dilapidated buildings and trattoria-like signs that make you wonder if you're in the right place. Fortunately, once you're inside and savor their dishes, any doubts vanish, leaving room for the satisfaction of savoring high-quality cuisine. Of the many Michelin-starred restaurants I've visited in Piedmont, this is certainly one of the best. Each dish was refined and well-crafted, never lacking in nonsense or neglecting flavors and textures. The service was good but aseptic (just a quick briefing about the dish and off we went), a bit slow (we sat down at 1:00 PM, got up after 4:00 PM), and even the chef was glimpsed in the dining room for just 30 seconds to greet someone I believe was a regular. So perhaps I missed the guidance during the tasting experience, but that's a very subjective factor. The price was truly excellent. Ultimately, this is a restaurant you absolutely must try. Highly recommended.

14/04/2026: The atmosphere is relaxed, the beers are excellent, and the pizza is really good, as is the rosemary farinata. They were very kind even though my husband hadn't mentioned the stroller when booking, but they found a comfortable spot for us and them. We'll definitely be back to try the fried food and many other pizzas.

16/05/2026: We went to the "Barbaresco at the Table" evening. The wine was the star, but the food complemented everything beautifully. The staff was incredibly friendly, including the chef, who came out to greet everyone at the table. A super enjoyable evening, I hope to return for the à la carte menu.

27/04/2026: I went to a graduation dinner on Saturday, April 25th, and it was wonderful, from the appetizers to the cake! Everything was delicious, and the service was impeccable! The first courses were fantastic; definitely order the penne rosate!
