01/06/2025: It's a place that gives its best in the summer, fresh and with large outdoor spaces that allow children to play who don't want to sit down. I have no experience as a restaurant, but as an aperitif I've tried several times and to tell the truth I'm not enthusiastic: the accompanying platters are undoubtedly good, but presented "for two" in fact they are for one and consequently too expensive ... in the end you go "out of the market". Very kind staff which doesn't hurt.

31/05/2025: An outdoor dinner. I wanted something tasty and a glass of wine and so it was with a delicious gourmet sandwich. Excellent welcome, well-selected wine and excellent food. Well done

12/06/2025: De kwaliteit van eten was niet bijzonder en de uitstraling van het restaurant weinig sfeervol. Bediening was prima en prijs / kwaliteit verhouding was goed. Prima restaurant voor een snelle avondhap.

01/06/2025: We had dinner for two on May 31st. Good quality food, the wild boar Maremma style was well cooked, tender and with a good seasoning, served with polenta. The pici with white ragù of Cinta Senese were excellent. Fast service, good price considering it is in the center of Volterra. Very friendly staff.

31/05/2025: Quiet and elegant environment, courteous and sociable staff. What dominates in this place is the freshness and variety of fish...I found the Amalfi-style stuffed ravioli divine....reason for which I very willingly left a tip almost equal to the bill, also for the sympathy towards the waiters, even the room manager is very courteous. Compliments to all the staff and good work!!!

18/05/2025: The restaurant is located in Via Generale Clark facing the sea. The interiors are bright, modern and welcoming. The cuisine is seafood, in keeping with the culinary tradition of Salerno. The fish is always fresh and well served, with elegant presentations. Excellent among all and recommended, the recipe for fish in salt. I suggest, however, to book because the restaurant is very crowded on weekends. The staff is very professional and quick in service.

02/06/2025: There is plenty to choose from, you would like to try all the pizzas, one visit is not enough. The guys are very attentive, fast service.

13/04/2025: Esperienza terribile... iniziando dal proprietario che è una persona scortese ed antipatica. Servizio lentissimo, dopo 2 ore è arrivato qualcosa a tavola ...un piatto che non so descrivere, frittura con una poltiglia all'interno dal sapore disgustoso. Abbiamo preso poche porzioni per assaggiare ed alla fine rimanevano intatte. L'unica portata gradita è stata i "fagioli alla messicana". Per concludere arrivano 2 paella di pesce al tavolo, io che l'ho mangiata anche in spagna e conosco il sapore ed il costo di questa pietanza quando è fatta bene ,sono rimasta totalmente disgustata, il pesce di certo non era di qualità, probabilmente congelato ...un gusto veramente terribile. Rimaste intatte anche queste. Il conto??? 40 euro a persona,la paella 180? Un conto di quasi 500 euro? Ma stiamo scherzando????? Ovviamente usciti da lì molti di noi sono stati male, dolori allo stomaco, problemi di digestione. Mai e poi mai consiglierei questo posto! Carissimo ed orribile sia per il servizio che per le pietanze di bassissima qualità,un ladro! Scontrino? Nemmeno a parlarne,lo ha scritto a penna!!! Ecco come fanno i soldi oggi

06/04/2025: Update March 2025 (at the bottom) A place for connoisseurs. You won't find the usual Mexican/Spanish tourist cuisine, but typical traditional dishes cooked with the same local recipe. The owner (if you know how to get it, he's a very nice and knowledgeable person) boasts thirty years of experience in South American cuisine on site and does it out of passion. The menu is particular and the products are top quality. The paella (if you want to try his) you will have to book it and not on Saturday because he "only cooks fresh products and the original paella needs 3 hours of preparation". La Madrugada is a culinary experience and as mentioned above is for connoisseurs. The environment is quiet and very small (3/4 tables) so booking is mandatory. The prices are quite high but it can be worth it in terms of value for money. Update March 2025: I confirm that the quality of the place, the freshness of the products and the goodness of the cuisine requires a review of the organisation: in the place there is only the owner and the helper (who however only takes care of the kitchen) and it is the owner who manages the orders, table service and preparation of the dishes, this significantly slows down the arrival of the dishes resulting in you having to wait almost two hours to finally be able to taste the paella; A waiter is necessary to manage orders, especially when you have to explain the dishes on the menu, serve at the tables, welcome customers: it is unthinkable to do everything alone because it inevitably takes time away from preparing the dishes and the wait becomes very long and sometimes unnerving. So you are warned, you will eat well, but the wait will be long

09/06/2025: A very pleasant restaurant located on the Place d'Apricale. The owner speaks impeccable French and offers very sound advice. The house olive oil is delicious. A stockfish brandade to die for followed by delicious artichoke ravioli with sage butter. For dessert, the owner offered us the local specialty: a Muscat and Marsala sabayon in which bugnes are dipped—to die for. In short, a magical moment!

22/06/2025: La Locanda del Lupo is a quiet place in the historic center of Orvieto. It is a place that presents itself simply in its typical Umbrian architecture. It has furnishing elements in some cases out of context but a nice atmosphere. The food is good, especially the first courses, recommended those with fresh truffle. Simple service and friendly staff. Excellent location towards the main points of interest of the city

12/06/2025: Great place to have dinner in Orvieto, the food is excellent as in the whole region, excellent pasta and meat. The only negative note was that as soon as we finished dinner we had to run away because it was an exaggerated mosquito net :/

16/06/2025: One of the best tiramisus we’ve ever had. The first course was so good we ordered a second a course, which we rarely do. A highly recommended visit.

10/06/2025: Excellent welcome with qualified staff. Family lunch and even though they were full the service was impeccable. Both grandparents and children were extremely satisfied. Super appetizer, perfect cooking of the first courses, delicious rabbit and calamari, excellent wine. Top. I recommend it to everyone.

For goodness sake, nothing to say but for 3 trios of identical simple and unpretentious first courses, two bottles of water, two cups with strawberries and a cup of mulled milk 100 euros seems crazy to me. Dear manager friend, you've seen me once and you'll never see me again.

13/04/2025: We ended up a bit by chance on the suggestion of a local gentleman, we found a welcoming place with friendly, nice and professional staff. The food was presented very well and was excellent, including the accompanying pizza. Perhaps the price was just a little high considering you only drank water and a glass of red, but we're talking about little change. Advised!

04/06/2025: After visiting the beautiful Nervi we had dinner at Ruota, eating delicious oysters and two exceptional first courses, gnocco with pesto made by the excellent chefs, hand-rolled pappardelle with lobster, 100 with honors. I would definitely return, thanks to the impeccable service.
