09/07/2026: We returned at the end of August 2025, returning from a hike to Alpe Armisola, and took the opportunity to stop for lunch, where we enjoyed an excellent pork shank with potatoes. Kudos to the kind and helpful staff and to the new management, which has revitalized visits to this beautiful mountain area. We returned in June 2026, and I reaffirm the quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere.
We returned in June 2026 after a hike to the Deucaville delle Orobie on the Briotti-Gaggio stretch, and our usual lunch stop. Everything was as good as last year.
28/06/2026: Simple, mountain-style atmosphere without too many pretensions. Excellent food. There's also a play area for both kids and adults (soccer field, volleyball net) and a camping area.

08/07/2026: In the valley parallel to the Val di Mello, at the entrance to the road to Preda Rossa.
Clean refuge, rooms with shared bathrooms, but there was no one there the night I stayed, so I didn't experience any inconvenience.
I opted for half-board.
The pizzoccheri were amazing, the main course was average.
€55 excluding drinks.
There is no internet (except for a limited connection offered by the manager), and this is sometimes a good thing.

09/06/2026: A good trattoria in Bormio for lunch or dinner, even if you're just passing through. The entrance is a bit hidden, but just follow the signs.
02/06/2026: We had a wonderful meal. The service was super fast. The food was excellent. The location was very nice, and the dishes were well-prepared and generously portioned.
The only problem was that the restaurant wasn't easy or intuitive to find. It has a back entrance, so when you arrive, you have to go through the barrier on the left and turn right into a sort of alleyway. Follow it until you see the door on the left.

28/04/2026: Hotel Franca is a simple 3-star hotel with traditional Valtellina furnishings, warm rooms and beds, a lovely waterfall shower, and excellent food at dinner. The reception staff is very organized and prompt. They also have an annex behind the hotel with additional rooms.

04/06/2026: We stayed one night at this wonderful B&B. Mrs. Orsola was very kind from the start, and her courtesy was confirmed upon our check-in. In fact, all the staff are very polite and make guests feel at home. The room is actually a very large apartment, with a wonderful balcony offering a beautiful view.
The breakfast exceeded expectations: a variety of fresh products, from sweet to savory.
We had lunch at the B&B's restaurant and had a great time: sciatt and pizzoccheri were a definite hit!
For a small extra charge of €15.00, we were able to stay with our dog.
Highly recommended!
