28/03/2025: First time in this hotel together with my girlfriend. Booked using smartbox. Excellent room, modern, clean and comfortable bed. Bathroom with bathtub much appreciated. Hotel with spa service upon reservation, truly excellent and very intimate. Varied buffet breakfast. Area outside the hotel with sofas and well designed. Experience to be redone

25/03/2025: We have just spent a weekend at the Tremoggia hotel, an enchanting experience to say the least. Everything was perfect from the location, to the cleanliness of the room, to the welcome of the staff, in particular Fernando, Marco and the ladies at the reception who treated us divinely, always with a smile and super available for any request, even the kitchen offers amazing dishes, made by them, of extreme goodness and quality. We will return and highly recommend.

25/09/2025: During a weekend trip to Sondrio with my husband and kids, we were directed to this slightly old-fashioned (1970s) bar in the historic center for a classic "bitter," or "the king of aperitifs," as the friendly lady at the counter called it. From the outside, it didn't look like much, with a tiny room inside—but a large bar!—and then lots of tables outside. But it was Saturday night, and in no time, the place filled up with obvious regulars, so—in addition to the drinks and appetizers—we realized that the real plus of this place was the service, truly friendly, courteous, and fast! The aperitif was good, the location was historic and pleasant, the service excellent, and the price was also good: I would go back and recommend it!

24/08/2025: We bought takeout sciatt with a salad and cutlery. Truly excellent, thin pastry and delicious cheese filling. The blueberry cake was delicious, light and not too sugary. The gentleman who served us (Savio?) was very kind and attentive. Payment by credit card. Fair prices. I definitely recommend it!

14/09/2025: Roberto is incredibly cool, it's a pleasure to listen to his explanations about herbs and their world, truly bitter, in the sense of the quality of the botanicals, a small but clean and welcoming place, I will definitely be back to get two bottles, the herbal tea is highly recommended☕

31/10/2025: One of my go-to restaurants during my travels in the Valtellina area. The dishes are generous, well-prepared, reasonably priced, and never boring (at least for the evening menu). The Mirtille con casera e noci (Mirtille with casera cheese and walnuts) are definitely worth a mention. I never stayed overnight, so the rooms remain unrated.

14/10/2025: Very friendly and helpful staff. Regarding the room rates, I think they're quite high for the type of rooms available, despite the hotel being located along the main road and in a great location. Room cleanliness needs to be reconsidered...

21/09/2025: August 2022: On a hike along the Via Spluga, we stayed overnight at the Albergo Cardinello. The owner, Martino, warmly welcomed us in very good German. We had a brand new room, furnished with lots of wood, with a shower and toilet, and very good quality beds. Before dinner, we were served an aperitif together with the other guests and listened to an interesting lecture by Martino on the history of the house. On our way to the dining room, we were given a tour of the house. The set dinner in the historic guest rooms was delicious and absolutely excellent value for money. After a hearty breakfast by Italian standards, we continued our journey to Chiavenna, well rested and refreshed. September 2025: We were hiking the Via Spluga again and, based on our positive experience in 2022, stayed again at the Albergo Cardinello. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The welcome described above, with an aperitif and tour of the house by the now very elderly owner, Martino, no longer exists. In contrast to our last stay, we were given a room in an annex of extremely mediocre quality. The room was more like an attic, very small and cramped, the bathroom poorly lit, the beds very soft, there wasn't even a chair in the room and only a bedside lamp. Dinner and breakfast were very good, just as they were three years ago. Given our poor experience with the room, we will not stay there again on future hikes.

21/09/2025: I only know this place as a restaurant. A pleasant surprise in many ways. First of all, the ambiance: it's a visual feast to dine in the original, perfectly preserved stube, with its coffered ceiling and elegantly decorated period wood paneling. The menu features traditional local dishes, well-executed and rich in flavor. The service, led by a young, cheerful staff, is informal yet very attentive. The price will pleasantly surprise you; it's no coincidence that the place is very popular, making reservations essential.

01/10/2025: My review only concerns how I was treated as a "single customer." I stopped for lunch, certain I'd be able to try a local specialty: Pizzoccheri. The waiter: "Pizzoccheri are only for two people." I understand, but someone else in the dining room must have ordered them, and if they add a portion... the waiter always says: "Absolutely not, Pizzoccheri are only for two people." I've been traveling the world for 40 years for work and pleasure, always ALONE, and (except in truly exceptional situations) I've never had a problem ordering anything, much less a portion of Pizzoccheri. Evidently (or rather, I'd say with certainty) SINGLE CUSTOMERS ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT WELCOME AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I definitely won't be returning.

26/09/2025: I returned to this restaurant almost by chance, after having been there once a couple of years ago. This time, I chose the pizzoccheri again, and I was right: delicious, well-seasoned, and generous portions. They also have a good selection of craft beers, produced at their 1212 brewery (I even bought some to go). The staff was extremely friendly. The place was warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.

17/08/2025: We had dinner last night at this very welcoming restaurant. The taste, aroma, and sensory experience was exceptional! Compliments to the chef, a young chef with excellent potential for growth. Thanks to the waiter Giuliano, who was precise and very thorough in describing the tasting experience of the dishes offered! We will definitely be back.
