21/09/2025: Sunday lunch: two first courses, two mixed fried dishes, water, half a liter of wine, and coffee = €86. Pros: The dishes were good and the portions were adequate. Cons: We weren't given a menu with prices, the bill only showed the total, and the receipt didn't specify the cost of each dish.

12/10/2025: A rustic and well-worn yacht club, definitely a laid-back atmosphere overlooking the beach and the sea. The focaccia was good, but the trofie with pesto was unfortunately a bit mediocre. For the main course, there was only mixed fried fish, and after seeing the first course, I didn't feel like trying it. The meringue and chocolate dessert was delicious, without pretensions. Without trying to influence anyone, I'm not sure if I'd recommend it.

07/09/2025: We stopped for lunch. It's more of a bar than a restaurant, with a decent menu but the food is mediocre. The two first courses we ordered were nothing special, just like the restaurants nearby. The young man who served us was very friendly, but finding waiters like that, after all, dispels the myth that Ligurians aren't friendly.

20/06/2025: People complaining about the prices at Puny must think they’re in a beach shack somewhere in rural Italy—not in Portofino, one of the poshest places in the country. This isn’t your local pizzeria in a tiny village—it’s Puny, the iconic spot right on the harbor. Expecting a €10 pasta here is like walking into Chanel and asking for a discount on a handbag. I also assume those people haven’t been to places like St. Tropez, St. Moritz, Ibiza, or Mykonos—where prices are often MUCH higher. For where you are and what you get, I think it’s more than fair. The food? Classic Ligurian and seriously delicious. The staff? Super sharp and genuinely kind—we had a gluten-intolerant child with us, and they handled it with incredible care and attention. The owner is out-going and entertaining, and then there’s my favorite: Renato! So kind, and impressively fluent in many languages. I’ve personally seen Madonna, Diane von Fürstenberg and Jeff Bezos here. I have friends who stop with their boats in Portofino only to have lunch at Puny. This place is basically where celebrities and foodies casually enjoy their “Pappardelle Portofino.” If you want the real Portofino experience—amazing food, top-tier people-watching, and a taste of glam—Puny is the place. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, casual dinner… this isn’t your spot. Simple as that. PS: If I could only give one advice: a few more healthy and interesting vegetarian options would be wonderful and very much appreciated!

12/09/2025: The products are truly spectacular. The focaccia is wonderful. I also had the crostata, and it's truly sublime. Kindness and courtesy. The owner is a truly delightful person.

21/07/2025: A must-visit for anyone who loves authentic flavors! The focaccia genovese is among the best I've ever tasted: perfectly soft and with that flavor that instantly takes you back to home. The custard also deserves a special mention: velvety, fragrant, and made just like it used to be. In addition, they prepare cakes, traditional desserts, fresh bread, focaccia, and many other baked delights, all made with care and quality ingredients. There's also a delicatessen corner that always surprises with tasty and authentic dishes. A place where the passion for cooking truly shines in every bite! Highly recommended! .

18/09/2025: Genoa is the pesto capital, so you expect quality. Here, however, it was one of the worst pestos I've ever tried: too salty. €13 for this dish is a steal; it was worth €8–9 at most. I also had the meat: ordinary, nothing special. For €16, you expect something remarkable, but it was a €10 dish. The salad was already wilted, the bread dry and flavorless, like stale bread. The fries definitely tasted like fried calamari—clearly fried in the same oil—disgusting. I didn't eat them, but they charged me anyway. The service was terrible. The total bill: €53. For what? A meal worse than one at a service station. At least the food is better on the highway. Conclusion: The "cook" is incompetent; anyone can cook better at home. If he thinks he's a chef, he should stop immediately. Answer: Next time, instead of completely denying the poor quality of your restaurant and service, simply change the oil and stop frying fries in the same oil as calamari. The restaurant is awful, the staff is awful, the atmosphere is awful, and the food is simply salty, greasy, and carelessly made. If the pesto is too salty, then the pesto is too salty—it's as simple as that. Since you're in Genoa, at least learn how to make proper pesto; that's the least you can do. If you can't accept criticism and acknowledge that the food is subpar, that's your problem. You can deny it all you want, but the facts don't change, and if need be, I'll continue writing reviews every day. You talk to me about politeness, I'll talk to you about the deplorable quality of your food: get over it, I don't care if you don't have the courage to face the reality of your job. If this is cooking and running a restaurant for you, then clearly we don't have the same standards—and it shouldn't even exist. If the food is rubbish, I won't eat it. That's my standard. Opening a restaurant and not knowing how to make pesto means you should probably look for another job. The same goes for chips that taste like fried squid: it's an absolute disgrace.

05/03/2025: La scorsa settimana sono andata da Strike dopo tanto tempo e sono rimasta davvero delusa. Ho ordinato un cheeseburger e una porzione di patatine,insipide, e dopo circa mezz’ora ho iniziato a sentirmi male, tanto da dover tornare a casa. Dopo un’ora anche il mio compagno ha accusato dolori di stomaco. Considerando anche il costo di questi panini, consiglierei di utilizzare prodotti di qualità superiore o di verificare lo stato di efficienza di essi. Sconsiglio il fast food a chi non vuole passare tutto il giorno sul gabinetto.

31/08/2025: While passing by on our motorcycle, we stopped for a burger. Although the ingredients weren't fresh—"frozen bread and meat"—the result was still good, as was the service. However, in my opinion, for a place to be considered a "burger joint," it would have been a good idea to have a menu with various options for ordering and fresh ingredients. The price, however, is in line with the service.

10/12/2025: Pub La Pinta is a true gem! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for an evening with friends. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always smiling. Excellent selection of beers, both on tap and in bottles, are paired with tasty, beautifully presented dishes. Enjoyable music, a clean environment, and fair prices: a combination that makes you want to return time and time again. Highly recommended for those looking for an authentic, well-run pub!

09/12/2025: We've been coming to this place for three years to have our group's traditional mega pizza party... because of the large space capable of holding a large number of people... we've always had a good time, especially because the pizzas were delicious... This year, to our surprise, they told us that they don't make pizzas today without providing any explanation... So we were forced to get some hamburgers... Of course they were good, nothing special... but with the addition of a few euros I could go to a restaurant to eat fish... for dessert they had Nutella crepes or just 5 panna cottas... note that it was Friday night and it wasn't even full... in my opinion, the most serious thing is the bathroom... I had an intestinal virus, I needed the bathroom and to my surprise the bathrooms had no doors and no toilet paper, unbelievable.
