06/09/2025: We loved its rustic charm. Very basic, minimalist, but what really matters—the food—is satisfying! Dining with wild boars grazing just a few meters away is truly captivating. I must return to try their pizza. Special credit goes to the location, atop the Poggio Catino mountain. Many people agree with us, so much so that reservations are a must.

19/10/2025: Excellent trattoria restaurant just steps from Castel di Tora. Tasty and generous dishes, under the attentive, friendly, and welcoming new management. Courteous and knowledgeable service. Seasonal menu, with well-seasoned first courses made with fresh, local ingredients. Meat-based second courses are equally good. Prices may be a little higher, but the quality is excellent.

19/10/2025: A pleasant discovery. We had lunch this Sunday with a couple of friends and had a wonderful time. The friendliness of the staff, the terrace overlooking the lake, and the deliciousness of the dishes absolutely deserve five stars. An unforgettable coratella ❤️

14/10/2025: We were there on October 13th. Having read the reviews, I expected good food. Unfortunately, we ordered two very disappointing fisherman's appetizers, some fish crumbs along with sauces. The shellfish with couscous...chinoa and other tasteless grains...to be rejected. The frozen and poorly cooked trout fillet...I hate to give this judgment, as both my husband and I are cooks, but it was just...

01/10/2025: Historic lakeside restaurant with a panoramic view. The food is excellent, featuring traditional lake fish dishes. The service is a bit slow, but always courteous and attentive. The restaurant has a slightly dated, 1980s feel. Reservations are almost mandatory, otherwise you'll be left out. Highly recommended.

25/09/2025: Given the good reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. The place is completely run-down and abandoned. Trash and disorder reign everywhere, making the atmosphere anything but inviting. The icing on the cake came when, upon entry, I asked if we could kindly sit down to eat. The answer? A firm no, without any explanation! It was chilling.

25/08/2025: A beautiful viewpoint, possibility to rent sunbeds, platform for swimming in the lake but really the place is let down... A great shame because the guys are super nice and kind, excellent dishes especially first courses but not well maintained, unfortunately I saw people leave... come on guys it could become a really top place for a weekend at Lake Turano!

08/08/2025: La "Quercia" is a historic restaurant located in Montenero Sabino, in the province of Rieti. It is nestled in the middle of a forest, and the restaurant boasts a spectacular centuries-old oak tree in the garden. The owner, Federico, and his sister, Pina, are an added bonus to this restaurant, where traditional Sabine cuisine is excellent. But a five-star rating definitely goes to the wood-fired pizza. Exceptional. Try it and believe it!

23/09/2025: Excellent food. I didn't order the cacio e pepe because they don't make it like in Rome. However, the large ricotta and spinach ravioli and lemon tortelli with pistachios were truly excellent. The gentleman, whose name I don't remember but I think he was the oldest, offered us a bunch of grapes (they had plenty to pick from the vines covering the outside of the restaurant). I also recommend it for those of us who were in a campervan at the IL GHIRO rest area just a stone's throw away.

17/09/2025: Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be: the food quality is average to low, the prices are above average, and the beers are excellent. We ordered four sandwiches with different toppings and meats. When they served them, they mislabeled the sandwiches, so I ended up eating my friend's sandwich and vice versa (no problem, but if I'd been allergic to an ingredient, it would have been a disaster; you have to be more careful about that). The only positives are the place and the beers; they even let you watch the football matches.

Fast and friendly service, reasonable prices, and a convenient location on a busy road with parking. It presents itself more as a function room than a restaurant, with old-fashioned decor but well-maintained and clean. Recommended if you're in a busy area, but also suitable for large groups.

15/10/2025: The pizza has a delicious dough, a high crust but not heavy. Delicious. The atmosphere is a bit sparse, but not cramped and warm. Service is a bit slow, but friendly and cheerful.

Not only for its stunning location, immersed in the natural beauty of the Rieti hills, crafted with simplicity and elegance, but also for its truly delicious cuisine, made with expertly prepared, high-quality ingredients. Papilla combines attention to the local area, research, and curiosity: the result is interesting, fun, delicious, and authentic dishes. I recommend the fish appetizers. The service deserves special mention: attentive to customer needs and meticulous. The price is truly more than fair. Well done.
