15/09/2025: Terrible experience. Just one person forced to do everything: set the table, clear it, take orders, and wait at the tables. Plus, she was loudly humiliated in front of the customers, shouting, "Hurry up and come here." For me, respect for staff and customers comes first, and it was completely lacking here. We waited over an hour: first we were told we could choose two different types of pasta (out of three available first courses), then we were told the chef would only accept one because "otherwise he'd go crazy." The menu wasn't written anywhere: it was just recited to us (three first courses, three second courses, and only a side of cherry tomatoes), yet in the end we saw platters being brought out that hadn't even been offered to us. The water arrived after 40 minutes. The place has potential, but it's terribly managed. The bathroom was disgusting; even washing my hands made me feel disgusted. In the end, when we decided to leave without eating, they even told us they'd already set the table. The table settings, yes, were rustic, but stripped down to the bare minimum: paper placemats, bagged steel cutlery, and a glass. "What a big effort." The only positive note was the lady in the dining room, who wasn't to blame: she did her best, constantly rushing around. But the management is embarrassing. Never again.

14/09/2025: We arrived at 1:15 PM, and by 1:55 PM, we hadn't even been served bread. Certainly not the fault of the poor waitress, forced to manage all the tables alone, but rather the total lack of organization and rudeness of the chef/owner, who instead of working simply berated her in front of the customers. There were no paper menus, no prices displayed: the only way to know what was available was to quickly hear it from the waitress when ordering, without having the slightest time to decide. We ordered three pennettes with asparagus and guanciale and two amatriciana pastas, but after more than 20 minutes, we were informed that it wasn't possible to have two different types of pasta: you had to order them all the same. Absurd and ridiculous. After an hour of waiting, the only thing that arrived at the table was water. We got up without eating anything, paying only for that. An experience to forget. A place like this should be avoided at all costs. Zero organization, zero respect, zero professionalism. Never again, not even for free. And above all: no playing with food.

20/02/2026: We went there for pizza with friends. The pizza was very good (I had anchovies and zucchini flowers), but the place was definitely too crowded. At a round table for ten people, it was hard to hear the person next to you. There were tables in the middle of the walkways, and the owner should avoid making a scene with the employees in front of everyone. (If you really have to tell him off, either do it discreetly or take him aside and clarify, but you can't start yelling in the middle of a room full of customers.) The two stars for the service aren't for the waiters (definitely understaffed for the number of people they manage), but for the management by the owner(s). It's a shame because I ate well anyway, but when I left, I almost had a headache from the confusion and noise in the room.

15/02/2026: The location was nice... 3 hours of waiting for an appetizer and a pizza!!! The waiters were absent... the manager was very rude and arrogant... They forgot to clear the table between the appetizer and the pizza... the place was very chaotic, the staff kept ditching each other... I don't recommend it!!!

31/03/2026: I frequent Civico 29 at times other than its "fame": it's well-known for aperitivo and after-dinner drinks, but for me it's become a go-to spot especially for a late breakfast or afternoon coffee. The location is simply fabulous: super central, with outdoor tables that allow you to calmly enjoy the stroll along the main street. It's one of those places where stopping isn't just a break, but also a brief moment to observe the city. The staff is always professional, kind, helpful, and even delightfully friendly, which really makes the difference. Both the coffee and the croissants are excellent: simple, but well-made, and capable of making every stop enjoyable. A place I recommend, even (and especially) outside of the busiest hours.

18/05/2026: I'll start by saying that the following refers exclusively to the miniature pastries because I haven't had the chance to try anything else. I've been invited on three different occasions, and one of the guests is in love with this pastry shop, so she brought a tray of miniature pastries each time. This is a historic pastry shop in Ceccano, and I hate writing this review because, in a way, I've grown fond of it. The problem is that over the years they haven't updated at all, and the quality has dropped dramatically (or, if you think about it, it's stayed the same, but the others have improved, they haven't). Every time this tray arrives at the table, we look at each other and sigh, because no one likes them. Everything is very, very, very sweet... I'll name two at random: the zeppole di San Giuseppe are so full of jam that you can't even taste the cream and it's hard to finish a miniature; The shortcrust peaches, both white and red, are inedible. They're diabetic-friendly. The shortcrust pastry is too compact and incredibly sweet, the cream is incredibly sweet, and, to top it all, they're rolled in such an excessive layer of coarse-grained sugar that after the first bite you're chomping at the bit. The flavors are always very artificial and packaged; they don't seem like artisanal pastries made by a pastry shop that should be teaching others, given its history. The result is that the tray always stays full, and many people exchange knowing looks and skip dessert. I can easily eat 5-6 mini pastries from any pastry shop, but I hardly finish one of these. Honestly, I'm sorry.

12/04/2026: Welcoming restaurant, but the service was inattentive and slow, even though the restaurant was almost at half capacity. We ordered fettuccine with meat sauce, which was a bit bland, and the main course (roasted round) was paltry—"just" three slices for €15. I find it excessive and unpresentable, and it didn't even come with anything. Honestly, we were disappointed. Mediocre quality and above-average prices.

29/03/2026: We came on a Saturday night and it was fully booked, but they were very kind and served us anyway, since it was early. The thin pizza with a nice thick crust was very good.

17/03/2026: Well, yes, the pizza was decent, with plenty of oil and sometimes burnt. The wait times were incredibly long; I'm sorry, but I know pizzerias that take half as long with three times as many people. Not to mention the arrogance of the staff, which, as you can see in the responses to other reviews, is quite present. I don't recommend it. (As you can see, I was expecting this kind of response under the review; this place is ridiculous 😂😂😂)

08/05/2026: Nice place, a bit hidden, but the kindness is reciprocated. I just arrived, so I'll let you know... Despite appearances, I ate excellent chicken cacciatore and freshly sautéed broccoli, a glass of red wine and coffee. I'd say it's all there, I'll be back.

02/06/2026: I went to the restaurant for the first time yesterday to celebrate a birthday. The menu was structured as follows (all courses served at the center of the table): - cured meats and cheeses appetizer; - mixed fried foods; - pizza; - unlimited arrosticini. The portions were, to say the least, embarrassing, especially the fried foods and pizza. When it came time to serve arrosticini, we were told that the grill had already been turned off and therefore they would not be served. The service was unacceptable, to say the least, given the price paid per person, and especially if you pre-book a menu. From what I ate, the pizza was very good, but I definitely won't be returning given the treatment I received.

19/10/2025: Today we took the opportunity to have lunch at the taverna. The atmosphere is rustic, just as a forest retreat should be. Speaking of the dishes, I can only compliment the chef; everything was delicious and the portions generous. The service, which I've read in many reviews isn't top-notch, was, in my opinion, professional and prompt.

15/10/2025: We had the fettuccine with truffle for our first course, and it was truly tasteless. I find it hard to believe they were homemade, and they were truly awful anyway. The arristicini were decent, and the baked potatoes were poor. Not recommended.

16/06/2026: Excellent location, surrounded by a green garden where you can enjoy a pleasant stay. Comfortable rooms. Attentive, kind, and helpful staff. Excellent and plentiful food. An hour from Rome, an oasis of tranquility and freshness, with the entire town offering a very pleasant stay.

27/05/2026: My daughter went on a three-day trip and told me the waiters were incredibly rude. I think if they lack patience given their age, they should stay home and not ruin the lunch or dinner of the customers you might lose because of them.

07/03/2026: It was one of the cake shops where the perfect cake for one of my special events was a must. To date, the ugliest and most poorly made cake was mine. I had asked for a black cake with white writing and red decorations, and I received an all-black cake with awful red writing. Everyone laughed when I picked it up. I hope at least it tastes good, because it looks awful. The girl even apologized, but unfortunately, I won't accept an apology.

07/03/2026: I stopped going there, not so much for the quality of the food which is decent, but for the rudeness of the people who work there.

14/04/2026: Terrible place... rude front desk staff. The place's rule is that you can only eat ice cream cones standing up. If you want to sit down, you can only get a cup of ice cream. There were 7 of us, and two of us wanted an ice cream cone, the other 5 wanted an aperitif, and the two with cones weren't allowed to sit at the table. VERY BAD IMPRESSION!!!

27/05/2026: Everything is five stars. The atmosphere is family-friendly, the service is excellent, and the pizza is second to none. Just the way I like it, thin and crispy. The menu has everything...even amatriciana.

07/07/2026: We arrived after hours and were warmly welcomed in a bright room overlooking the flowery greenery. The local dishes were freshly prepared and tasty. The service was friendly and timely.

15/06/2026: We had lunch yesterday, eating appetizers of ham, cheese, and flavorless grilled eggplant, followed by two first courses: risotto with asparagus and tonnarelli with sausage and mushrooms. Both dishes were bland. To finish, a good tiramisu and passable fruit. They also served us still and sparkling water in carafes, and undrinkable white and red wines. An experience not to be repeated.

11/06/2026: We were waiting for our pizza, but it didn't arrive, we waited more than half an hour for 3 pizzas, unacceptable, after repeating it many times, at least the pizza was good
