14/01/2026: King Carlos da Barca is a small, cozy restaurant away from the tourist crowds in Verona. The option to sit outside and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere is particularly pleasant. The burgers are delicious and freshly prepared, making a visit worthwhile. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient, so you don't have to wait long for your order. We've been here twice already and were very satisfied both times – with both the food and the service. For anyone looking for a simple, good meal in a relaxed setting, this place comes highly recommended. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Verona.

02/01/2026: We stopped for lunch and had a mixed lake appetizer and two risottos (these were truly excellent, with a delicate flavor), along with complimentary coffee and cookies. Excellent service, and a lovely veranda overlooking the lake. Highly recommended. P.S. They welcomed us with our two dogs.

08/03/2026: I'm giving one star for the breakfast and the reception staff. We were very disappointed with the hotel's location. Many reviews mention that it's well-located, but that's definitely not the case if you don't have a car. The hotel is in a very isolated area, with nothing around. My husband and I even wondered why a hotel had been built there. There's no public transportation, which we unfortunately didn't know before booking. To get to the city center, we had to walk about **3 km**, which is **almost 50 minutes each way**. It was really discouraging. Of course, it's possible to order a taxi, but if you have to take one every time you go there and back, it becomes very expensive. At that price, it's much more cost-effective to stay in a hotel directly in the city center. After doing some research, I found hotels **around €140 per night with breakfast included and everything nearby**. Given the isolated location, the hotel really should offer a bicycle service to make getting around easier for guests. Another major problem: part of the road leading to the hotel has neither a sidewalk nor a pedestrian area. For about **100 meters**, we had to walk directly in the road, and on a bend no less. At night, it's completely dark because there's nothing around, so cars can barely see us. It was **very frightening and dangerous**, especially since some cars drive very fast and pass very close. Regarding the hotel itself, there are also a few negative points: * No carpeting in the hallways to dampen the sound of footsteps. * Our room was opposite the elevator, which is very busy, and the walls are very thin, so you can hear everything. The soundproofing is really poor. * We also saw insects and flies in the room. * The bed wasn't very comfortable, even though the room was clean. Positive points nonetheless: * **The breakfast is plentiful, varied, and very good.** * **The staff is pleasant and welcoming.** In summary, the hotel might be suitable if you have a car, but without transportation, the location is really problematic.

04/03/2026: An ideal place for those who love home-cooked, traditional cuisine. A simple atmosphere reminiscent of our grandparents' traditions, with long-forgotten objects and tools. From the main road, take a narrow, slightly bumpy uphill road through vineyards and woods.

14/03/2026: Looking for a place to have dinner, we wanted to try this pizzeria and restaurant, which piqued our interest as it's located inside a former church, hence the name. The apse is still recognizable, but it has been beautifully renovated, taking advantage of the height to create an additional floor. The pizza selection is extensive, including unusual combinations and names inspired by famous places in Verona. The menu is offered in both Italian and English. The service was very quick and efficient; the pizzas arrived ten minutes after we ordered. One was burned on the edge and partly underneath. We pointed this out, and the owner kindly had it remade immediately. The pizzas were excellent in taste and texture; we ordered the whole-wheat version, which was very digestible. When it came time to pay the bill, the owner remembered what had happened and offered us a discount on his own initiative as an apology, a gesture much appreciated (the price had already been normal).

14/09/2025: And this is the third time we've come, after spending a day at Caneva and Movieland, at the pizza tour we had the honor of meeting Alfonso (the founder of all this goodness 👍👍), a nice and easy-going person. If you happen to be reading this, I thank you for the vouchers you gave to my son (we noticed at the end of the parking lot that he had them in his hand 😥). I hope to see you again next year. 12/09/2025: Perfect for kids – the pizzas are delicious, but the sausage and fries are too salty. The staff is very young but friendly. Unfortunately, there are a lot of mosquitoes around, so long clothing is a good idea. If you don't set a limit, you'll quickly overeat.

21/02/2026: Welcoming place, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service. I was more than pampered and given excellent advice on the wine selection. The food was delicious. I had scallops in a lentil basket on orange cream and gnocchi with pistachio scallops: unique, sophisticated, and excellent. Definitely recommended. If I ever come back, I'll definitely be back.
