Pizzeria San Matteo In Verona

Delicious food, friendly service. The food was excellent, the environment was clean, and the original building was a church.

Looking for a place to have dinner, we wanted to try this pizzeria and restaurant, which piqued our interest as it's located inside a former church, hence the name. The apse is still recognizable, but it has been beautifully renovated, taking advantage of the height to create an additional floor. The pizza selection is extensive, including unusual combinations and names inspired by famous places in Verona. The menu is offered in both Italian and English. The service was very quick and efficient; the pizzas arrived ten minutes after we ordered. One was burned on the edge and partly underneath. We pointed this out, and the owner kindly had it remade immediately. The pizzas were excellent in taste and texture; we ordered the whole-wheat version, which was very digestible. When it came time to pay the bill, the owner remembered what had happened and offered us a discount on his own initiative as an apology, a gesture much appreciated (the price had already been normal).

The first course and wine were good, the consecrated church was not given much attention but the staff was very kind.

Lunch for two. The cheese and cured meat appetizer was delicious, and the pizza was fabulous (highly recommended!!!). A small issue with the entree was resolved politely and quickly, which is no small feat! The atmosphere was unique, the service super fast, and the staff very helpful. Definitely worth a try!

A truly authentic Italian experience. All dishes are made with quality ingredients. Very good pizza and pasta dishes.

This restaurant, housed in an old church (a panoramic glass floor allows you to see the cellars) is very close to the Arena and Juliet's house. It offers both traditional dishes and meat, as well as a wide variety of choices. The wine list is excellent, featuring quality local wines! The dessert menu is also extensive and caters to all tastes!

The pizza is amazing, the selection is huge, every bite melts in your mouth. I highly recommend it. There's also a Ragu on the Kids' Menu, it's delicious 😋. It's like Bolognese. Get it, you won't regret it.

This is the tastiest pizza i ever had. All pizza lovers must try.
