18/01/2026: You walk into the Civico2 pizzeria, on the ground floor of a residential building in the province of Verona, read the menu, and you feel like you've landed in downtown Milan: pizzas cost €14-15, bottled beers cost €7.50, ingredients described in elaborate capital letters to convey exclusivity (Prosciutto di Coscia—what else is it supposed to be?), a €2.50 cover charge with a breakfast placemat, breadsticks, and a paper napkin (tablecloths are out of fashion). The paintings on the walls speak of "water and flour, the ingredients of pasta and pizza, the foundation of our culture," but here nothing of our culture remains: a worker has to work two hours to pay a fortune for a perfectly ordinary pizza in this place, here the food is transformed into a narrative to make the cash register ring—losing sight of quality. The taste of this product of water, flour, and various ingredients seemed tempting from the photos I saw online, but it turned out to be disappointing: the crust of my pizza was inexplicably non-classic (nowhere near as such on the menu), with this strange structure that left the dough still raw inside. Digestion wasn't optimal, and I was extremely thirsty when I woke up. My friends called it "rubbish," but I'll just say that, considering the price, it was a huge disappointment.

25/11/2025: I think it's one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted... Very friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and a truly welcoming atmosphere. I'll gladly return.

28/07/2025: Un’ottima scoperta a Fumane Ci è stata consigliata questa osteria e possiamo dire di esserne rimasti piacevolmente colpiti. L’accoglienza è stata calorosa, il servizio cordiale e al tempo stesso estremamente professionale. La cucina si è rivelata eccellente, con piatti ben curati e ricchi di sapore. Ottimi anche i vini, scelti e consigliati con competenza. Senza dubbio un posto in cui torneremo volentieri alla nostra prossima visita a Fumane.

20/07/2025: First off the host off this establishment alone is a great reason to go and eat here. All the staff was extremely friendly and humorous. The location is great being right in the middle of the beautiful town of Fumane between the local vineyards. The Osteria is a rather old building packed with Italian flare, even featuring a pet parrot. The food was delicious, I got the tortelloni with burrata and butter sauce and let me tell you the texture and taste of this dish was sublime, with the bread crumbs being the cherry on top. I then got braised Ox cheek, which probably was one of the most tender meats I ate in my life. The atmosphere was great with locals coming to eat here and all in all just having a good time. I certainly want to return to eat here and recommend this Osteria to people looking to taste delicious seasonal Italian cuisine in the heart of Valpolicella.

21/09/2025: We had spaghetti with clams for lunch, but they weren't real clams... plus a plate of mussels, but they were dry and reheated!!! I definitely won't be back!

16/09/2025: Great pizza with a large salad each for €10. 1 liter of rosé wine and a bottle of water for €58. We ate there twice in a row for €116. Unfortunately, the salad on the second day was half price for the same price. We complained to the waiter in English. When we told the manager, he came back and said everything was freshly prepared. We didn't really understand that answer. From then on, we were hardly considered guests anymore. When paying, we were asked if everything was OK, but that was all, and they didn't respond. A certain arrogance. There are certainly some good restaurants in town. Last time for us. !!!!!!!!

13/10/2025: The pizza by the slice is delicious, both in terms of dough and toppings. There's a wide selection of flavors. I recommend booking if you're looking for a specific flavor.

05/02/2026: Returned after one year… pizza is still very good! But the place changed… empty, and if paying in cash you need to fight for change… and then you receive it in small coins of 10 and 20 cents. And they were not giving me the fiscal receipt, even after asking, so I took the tip and all these coins with me.

17/01/2026: Excellent bar... historic pub. Music. Delicious sandwiches, piadinas, and much more.... Kind and friendly young people, beautiful as if they were family. Super spritz: always two at a time: Aperol and Campari... and if you want a real Hugo, which there are no others like it around, and a real Spritz... well... try it! 😂 A must if you come to Cologna Veneta!

17/01/2026: A family-run bar that makes a difference. The family management is evident throughout: kindness, helpfulness, and customer service. An authentic place, made of people even more than coffee. Recommended for those looking not only for a good coffee, but also for a pleasant time. Truly excellent. I recommend the "house aperitif."

23/11/2025: A wonderful experience. If you like medieval settings, jollity, chaos, and fun. The menu is chicken, soup, and focaccia; nothing exceptional, but excellent given the location. You go for the show and the fun. Very well managed. Beer mugs always filled. Worth seeing.

This historic restaurant never disappoints: a stunning setting, dishes that are pure poetry for the palate, and a human warmth hard to find elsewhere. A special welcome for our furry friends, too. Special mention goes to Luciano, who made us feel like the hosts with his kindness and impeccable service. When excellent cuisine (the tortellini in brodo are sublime) meets such extraordinary staff, success is guaranteed. Don't forget to try the Villafranca sfogliatina, a dessert that will leave you speechless!!

01/02/2026: Don't be fooled by the counter at the entrance, which might lead you to think of a "low-key" place: a delicatessen that, in addition to selling its products at the counter, also serves them in the back room (which wouldn't be a bad thing, to my taste). La Vecchia Bottega offers a refined atmosphere—not pretentious, but refined and high-quality—with highly trained staff who explain, without prompting, the origins and textures of their dishes to customers. The wide selection of varied tortelli will not disappoint, no matter what you choose. But the casunsei, in their simplicity, are spectacular. Top marks.

11/01/2026: Just WOW, the food was incredible! The service like that of a Michelin, friendly, offering great advice on what to eat and what to drink. We will be back next time we are in Verona, add this to your list! Especially the soft egg antipasti and steak with amorone! One of our most favourite meals of this trip!

Its specialty is Roman-style pizza, with options like the "Diavola" and the "Capricciosa." They also offer typical Italian dishes such as gnocchi, lasagne, and tiramisu. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is quick and attentive, and the prices are reasonable (€10-€20 per person).

10/11/2025: Having returned after many years, I stand by my review below and post a photo of the menu I found at the end of October 2025. I had dinner with my family, the food was excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They serve a welcome appetizer of polenta and a delicious cheese fondue. We accompanied it with a selection of cold cuts and cheeses as an appetizer. My eldest son and I had venison fettuccine and mountain gnocchi, and my wife had whole-wheat pasta with porcini mushrooms and chestnuts. We were full, so we ordered two desserts. Everything was truly delicious... For four of us, without wine, we had two appetizers, four first courses, and two desserts plus water, totaling €54. Very reasonable! We'll be back often. We haven't been for a few years because they're often full. It's best to book in the evening.

10/11/2025: After a sadly challenging period, I decided to take my wife out for dinner, also for a carefree evening. The restaurant I chose at random was perfect not only for the quality of the food and the cleanliness and beauty of the place, but also for the kindness of the waitress, as well as the exquisite and empathetic service of the owner, who checked on the customers' satisfaction, exchanging a few words during the waiting times. All of this contributed to making this convivial moment for my wife and I peaceful and pleasant, just as I had hoped. I recommend this restaurant to everyone 😉👍
