11/07/2026: We came in very hopeful. As a group of 8, 5 of our group ordered the fettuccine with lobster. Needless to say we were disappointed. After being asked if we wanted the fish de-shelled, they gave the pastas with a bunch of shells and no meat. When we informed the waiter, they brought us another dish of the fish with the alfredo sauce, still completely full of shells. The only compensation was a complementary garlic bread which we didn’t even want. On top of this whole experience, we had a live cockroach come out from under one of the dishes when we lifted it, totally freaking us out. The waiter we had tried really hard to be kind and helpful, but the experience was less than satisfactory.
11/07/2026: Terrible food. Ordered pasta with lobster. Very little meat and not fresh. Also carbonara with bacon, not so Italian. Expected guanciale.

Fresh, meticulously prepared seafood dishes.
Friendly, attentive, and extremely kind staff.
For me, the #1 choice if you're in the Venice area.

We were sitting outside late, with no noise from the rest of Venice, and enjoying the ‘space’ the host created for all the guests.
Definitely a ‘save’ on my list, when I come back to Venice!

04/07/2026: Of all the places we visited at Union Lido, this one is the worst overall. The best item on the menu is the seafood pizza. As for the pasta, the carbonara is average. The same goes for the ragu. Better tables with views of the beach and sea require reservations in advance. The tiramisu isn't a deal-breaker either. There are so many seats that you should probably find a spot without calling in advance. There are a lot of waiters and staff bringing your ordered dishes and drinks. This creates a bit of chaos, so it's worth checking the list of extras on your bill.
28/06/2026: In Italy, they've adapted to a vegan diet. This is also true of Ristorante Al Mare with its veggie pizza. It's not an extraordinary pizza, no unusual ingredients (though they are fresh), etc., but it tasted good. The cheese offers a good alternative (taste, texture, etc.). You can certainly form your own opinion, even if you're not vegan. Unfortunately, they only offer this one pizza. A second option would have been nice, so there would at least be a small selection. We also found it a bit odd that some of the staff stood near us the whole time, seemingly watching us. Nevertheless, it was a lovely evening and the pizza was good.

17/05/2026: Ehhh, always a guarantee, let yourself be guided by the chef's inspiration. Meat or fish, whatever is there is of quality. Today "canoce", sauce with "canoce" pasta, panettone homemade. Good wine km 0 excellent. Recently tried vegetable and shrimp risotto exquisite. What more do you want?

12/05/2026: I visited on May 12 and had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever dealt with. The staff was extremely rude, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful. The person working at the counter was dismissive, unhelpful, and acted like customers were an inconvenience. If this is how they treat people, management seriously needs to step in. I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting basic courtesy or professionalism.
04/05/2026: Excellent! We ordered the set menu for €16, which included a first and second course, thinking the portions would be small, but they were more generous than we're used to after two weeks traveling around Italy. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed.

The pizza has to be delicious, it's not for everyone, but it's truly an explosion of flavor, truly unique!
Highly recommended, at least try it once!
The only downside is the long line, but it's worth the wait!

29/03/2026: Very welcoming place, shame about the lack of welcome from the lady at the entrance, a bit rude 🤮. Terrible pizza, burnt, crunchy and not very tasty. They were all like that. The staff was excellent, always helpful and friendly except for the lady at the entrance who is supposed to be the owner and therefore the one most interested in welcoming customers. I will definitely not return.

Alina and Andrea are the perfect hosts: they make us feel welcomed every time, and we've become part of their family, and it's always a pleasure to return.
Their kindness is truly innate and makes the atmosphere even more special.
The pizza is wonderful, light and super digestible, with quality ingredients and always new and original dishes. A place we absolutely recommend to anyone who loves to eat well and feel pampered! 🍕✨

07/08/2026: Great restaurant with excellent service. Very good prices, excellent Italian pizzas, and to-die-for tiramisu. The waiters and waitresses speak French and are particularly charming. In short, I highly recommend it. 👍
05/08/2026: I traveled to Venice on vacay and a young local jewelry shop assistant directed us here to this restaurant.
It was good and they had both outside and inside seating with AC.
The pizza was just okay but I loved the authentic atmosphere and the appetizer with the sardine spread was GREAT.
