22/11/2025: A beautiful spot right by the small harbor for dinner. The black spaghetti was an explosion of flavor. The fried seafood, on the other hand, was rather average, 3 stars.

21/09/2025: A lovely place on the Giglio harbor. Unfortunately, the risotto was drained and mixed with the seafood, as was the spaghetti with clams, which were loose and tasteless. A raw meagre arrived, completely covered in tomato pieces. We notified the waiter, and to be honest, it wasn't included in the final bill. The ingredients were excellent, but in my opinion, the chef was lacking.

08/12/2025: "Il Fornetto Squalo Charlie" is the epicenter of pizza al taglio on the Argentine peninsula. More than a cliché, it's an institution... 😂 Try it and believe it.

31/01/2026: I visited Hosteria del Borgo during a trip to Maremma and had a divine meal. I especially recommend the ribollita, the gnudi (stuffed with ricotta and spinach, no pasta), and the pici, simply delicious. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Highly recommended if you're passing through!

27/09/2025: According to the opening hours on Google Maps, the restaurant would be open today, September 27th. However, there's a notice on the door saying the restaurant is closed. The peak season is over. Great. They could also adjust the opening hours on Google, where thousands of people search and try to find information every day. Very annoying and weak on the part of the owner.

03/05/2026: Everything was superb, from the bread basket to the service. I contacted the restaurant via Google for a few details to celebrate my husband's birthday. I didn't need to explain anything; they watched us from afar and knew how to enter the scene at the perfect moment. Fantastic! The Gambero Rosso restaurant has a unique feature: you can smell the sea more inside than outside, and I'm not kidding. The menu is basic but full of character; we ordered everything off the menu, except for dessert. The fried purple shrimp was heavenly; sweet, flavorful, and super lightly fried. The first course was tagliolini with shrimp and bottarga: a unique explosion of flavors and aromas, truly unique in very few places. The second course was baked snapper with cherry tomatoes, olives, and capers: it was like coming home to my grandparents. The dessert: a lemon ice cream with a Nuorese basil sauce and a contrasting sweet/savory base. A delicate and decisive balance, totally unexpected. The service was outstanding; we felt pampered every minute, and the staff was attentive, helping us make the best choices for us—something we didn't take for granted. The service was exceptional; we ate from appetizer to dessert in two hours, unhurriedly. We'll definitely be back, because Gambero Rosso isn't a place you'll easily forget.

25/04/2026: We had lunch at Gambero Rosso in Porto Ercole, and the experience was overall very positive, with a few comments about the ending. Location (8/10) Despite overlooking the main road, it offers a pleasant view of the marina. The rooms are refined, well-kept, and very clean, immediately conveying a sense of quality. Menu (8/10) Very fresh ingredients. The tagliolini with sea urchin was truly excellent, flavorful, and well-balanced. The fried food was also excellent: dry, light, and crispy, executed with great care. Service (9/10) The restaurant's strong point. The staff is highly professional, kind, and attentive: you are welcomed and looked after carefully from start to finish. Bill (6/10) The location, the quality of the service, and the freshness of the products justify the price. However, some choices are a bit unbalanced: charging a local pink shrimp the same as a lobster is a bit puzzling. Conclusion This restaurant is recommended for a quality experience, although not one for frequent visitors. With a more balanced pricing policy, it could become a true reference point for many.

29/05/2026: A very charming little restaurant located right in the alleyway leading to the castle. The seating is lovely and centrally located. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was hearty and delicious!

The pizza I ordered was brought wrong, and after they realized the error, instead of completely remaking it, they came back a few minutes later with what appeared to be the same pizza, with the missing ingredients added on top. It was quite obvious that it was not remade, but just a quick “correction”. I believe that in a place that respects its customers, such a situation should be resolved by remaking the product, not by a hastily made improvisation. Even though I appreciate the fact that they did not charge us for the pizza in question, which was a correct gesture, the way they resolved it left the impression of a lack of attention and professionalism. Overall, the taste of all the pizzas was good and the food was actually ok. That's why it's a shame that the experience was overshadowed by the way this situation was handled, because there's clearly room for more attention to detail and customer relationship What bothered me was the way the mistake with my order was handled. The pizza that I avevo ordinato è arrivata sbagliata e, dopo essersi accorti dell'errore, invece di rifarla completamente, sono tornati dopo pochi minuti con quella che semira essere la stessa pizza, aggiungendo semplicemento sopra gli ingredienti cancanti. It was quite evident that non fosse stata rifatta, ma solo "systemata" velocementa. I believe that in a locale that respects its own customers, a situation of the kind should be solved correctly by correcting the product, not with an improvised solution. Anche se apprezzo il fatto che non ci abbiono fatto pagare quella pizza, cosa absolument corretta, il modo cui la situación è stata gestita ha dato l'impressione di poca attenzione e scarcesa professionalità. 03/05/2026: A wonderful discovery, a place recommended by locals. Exceptional dishes prepared with care and skill; the "il coccio" appetizer is truly a masterpiece! The octopus and broccoli rabe were top-notch, along with the first and second courses worthy of true connoisseurs. Not to mention the desserts... superb! The price paid is definitely worth the meal! The staff were truly top-notch... knowledgeable, friendly, and always on point! The only negative, so to speak, is that they're leaving Porto Santo Stefano and moving to Orbetello... I'll definitely be back... count me in!
