19/11/2025: Al Solito Posto was… okay. We grabbed a takeaway pizza to bring back to our Airbnb. The staff was friendly and the pizza itself was decent — nothing life-changing, but perfectly serviceable. The downside? We were overcharged, and of course I didn’t realize it until it was too late. So don’t be like me: double-check not just the printed receipt, but also the amount typed into the card machine before you tap. Fine for a quick bite. Good morning, and thank you for reaching out. You’re absolutely correct that your prices are set and listed on the menu. My concern wasn’t with the menu pricing but with the amount that ended up being charged on my credit card. I believe the pizza I ordered was around €14. I paid with a card that doesn’t have foreign transaction fees, and I paid in euros, so based on the exchange rate that day, the charge should have been roughly $16.50 USD. When I reviewed my credit card statement after returning home, the amount charged was $26.01 USD — noticeably higher than expected. In most restaurants we visited during our trip, the process was the same: the server enters the total into the register, provides the printed receipt, and then manually keys that same amount into the card terminal for the guest to tap. Because the amount has to be typed in, there’s always the possibility of a simple miskey — for example, entering 26 instead of 16. In many places, the staff would show me the keyed amount before I tapped, but this trip that didn’t always happen. We ate at your restaurant fairly early in our travels, and I didn’t yet realize I needed to double-check the number on the terminal before tapping. That was my mistake, and it’s something I started doing consistently for the rest of our trip. I want to be clear: I’m not suggesting this was intentional. It very well could have been an honest keying error. My note in the review was simply meant to help other travelers stay aware, as the manual-entry system leaves room for small mistakes. 30/10/2025: We spent our last evening here in Florence (Sesto) and we were not disappointed. A pleasant, welcoming atmosphere that shows that the locals come back. My sister had been here before and they remembered her, which is an absolute good point! The rest only enhanced the dinner. Polite and professional service, delicious wine and great Italian food. The grilled seafood platter was especially good. Completely average prices, but outstanding value for money. I recommend the place to everyone and if I return to the area, I will definitely spend an evening here. Thank you again for a fantastic evening and gastronomic experience!

27/09/2025: There were three of us, and when we walked in, we had to wait for the people who arrived before us to decide before we got the menu. They have this little chalkboard above the tables, which is a nice idea, but it would be more convenient to have a large one inside and outside with the specials of the day, etc. We didn't know what was available before we walked in, but they focus on pizzas, making these pizza rolls. They've invented something new, and it's good, although I won't comment on that because I'm not a fan. Anyway, the place is nice, especially in the summer. There's an outdoor counter for aperitifs and a mini concert. The inside space is large, but it's too dark, gray and white, lacking that touch of liveliness characterized by color or elements that could make the rooms more pleasant, not only to look at the dishes but also to physically sit there. The waiters are nice and helpful, although they should print more menus because otherwise the customer waits too long and the dinner or lunch becomes heavy. Anyway, here's the menu.

22/11/2025: I'm a Korean journalist who visited this place a few days ago. This is a very small restaurant that has been in an alley for a long time. I, too, stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while walking through an alley in Florence, and happily, it turned out to be the best experience I've ever had. As a Korean woman traveling solo in Italy, I tried over 20 restaurants during my 14-day stay in Rome, Florence, and Naples. However, this restaurant, with its 4.8 or 4.9 out of 5 Google ratings, thousands or even tens of thousands of reviews, and other famous restaurants featured in countless guidebooks, beat out all of them. The pizza and olive oil here were the best, and I enjoyed my meal there the most. 100% true. The cheese on the pizza was incredibly flavorful. The pizza dough was crispy. Above all, I'd like to talk about the olive oil here. Thanks to the kindness of the owner, I was given the opportunity to taste it separately, and it was absolutely fantastic. The olive oil here boasted the best flavor and taste. I love olive oil and have tried many different products, but nothing compares to this one. I'm so sad I can't bring it back to Korea. The owner makes his own olive oil here. I really wanted to buy it, but the store didn't have any new stock, and I had to leave Florence the next day, so I couldn't buy it, which was really sad. If you're a foodie or food columnist planning to visit this place, be sure to ask the owner in advance if they can order olive oil. The owner of this restaurant is truly wonderful. Every Korean knows the veteran owner of a long-established neighborhood store. He's a neighborhood stalwart, a generous, outgoing man with a somewhat tough tone due to his long history, but fundamentally kind. The owner of this place evokes that image. He's a charismatic fisherman, a cool guy, and fluent in English. He's a seasoned owner who greets groups with a cheerful smile and singles with warmth. The owner took great care to ensure I didn't feel lonely while dining alone. He shared many fascinating stories about Florentine history, customs, battles, and sports, and even provided me with a fascinating book about the Florentine region to browse while I ate. Unable to sell his own olive oil, the owner recommended a nearby olive oil shop instead. The shop and its owner were both wonderful. They genuinely cared for their customers, not just through gimmicks, but through their craft and sales of truly delicious olive oil. Thanks to the owner, I was able to purchase some truly delicious olive oil and wine there as well. Also, on a very important note for Asian travelers, the owner was not racist. I've experienced racism in many shops in Italy, something that any Asian traveler will experience at least once. This restaurant offered absolutely no such unpleasant experiences. My experience was purely pleasant, and he treated me like a "normal traveler," not an "Asian." The fact that the owner treated me like a "normal traveler" visiting Florence left a very positive impression on me about this restaurant. As a traveler who fell in love with Tuscany and Florence, I plan to return to Florence in a few years. I would 100% return to this restaurant. I'll contact the owner in advance and definitely buy some olive oil to bring back to Korea. I was so touched by the thoughtfulness the owner of this restaurant took to ensure my dining experience was enriching. He is a truly exceptional restaurant owner. It's not the owner's luck that this restaurant exists in Florence, but the city's. While it's a small restaurant, it has everything you need for a delightful and delicious meal. I'm deeply grateful for the delicious food, the finest olive oil, and the most wonderful travel experience.

29/10/2025: This place completely changed my view of Florence — the owner is unbelievably rude and in denial. The food itself is a 3/10 at best; after two weeks traveling across Italy, we know what good pasta should taste like. We still respected the price since it’s Florence, but when I honestly said the food was just “alright,” the owner flipped out, refused to give me their card, and said we weren’t even customers — even though we paid. Then he got personal, touched my hair, and said rude things. Totally unacceptable. If you’re the owner reading this, I dare you to post the footage of you getting physical.

14/10/2025: The restaurant is located inside a hotel. The dining room is very spacious and bright, well-decorated, and clean. Reservations are required for two private dining rooms, one with an oval table for family or business events, and the other, very intimate, in the cellar. The manager, Jacopo, was attentive and thoughtful, paying close attention to my food intolerance. The food was very good, the fried fish was dry, and the tuna steak was perfectly seared. We'll definitely be back. Ample parking, but the only downside is its condition (the owners should fix up the exterior, which isn't looking very good).

18/09/2025: The food is very good. We ordered Filetto di manzo with tartufo, patate dorate e riduzione di balsamico, we recommend it, and tiramisu.

26/10/2025: Without a reservation, we asked to eat within 30 minutes because there was a concert. The owner, calm and kind, accommodated three of us inside and even offered us an excellent solution: a house-made cart for three, strictly without cheese so we could appreciate its excellent preparation. Congratulations!
