A note to the owner, whose name I unfortunately don't know: dear lady, her beautiful fresh flowers on the tables, the small handbag chairs, the simple elegance of the place, and her passionately presented dishes are simply outstanding! Congratulations, and see you soon.
26/02/2026: We saw it on an ad and booked it online easily. My daughter and I dined at this small restaurant, enjoying a wide variety of Tuscan cuisine. All this was topped off by Marta's wonderful kindness. Thank you so much.

01/03/2026: Stellar experience! Chef Maya was so kind to make a vegetarian friendly Georgian meal for us. The dishes were absolutely delicious and the service was friendly. We had a sampler of their homemade desserts and everything was heavenly! Looking forward to coming back! Thanks for the fabulous lunch!

02/03/2026: A very welcoming and charming place, opposite Palazzo Pitti, with seating both inside and out. The staff is very friendly and cheerful. I had the lampredotto sandwich, and it was excellent, although it lacked the typical green sauce. My friend's sandwich, on the other hand, was pretty average. The prices seemed fair, especially considering the location. They also sell traditional Tuscan products, from wine to biscotti. If you're in the area, I recommend it for good-quality, affordable local food.

16/01/2026: How can any restaurant stand out in the wealth of wonderful dining venues in Florence? Well, Il Barretto can. The restaurant is charming, and the host and staff are wonderful, but then you are served such absolutely delicious food, and you say, "I think that we made a good choice here." It is as though every meal is prepared by someone's mother. Just stunning. Also, the wine paired so well. I cannot speak highly enough of the atmosphere, the service, and the exceptional food. The location of the restaurant is perfect for a pre-cocktail at Uggi or other venues. If I were you, I would go out of my way to dine at Il Barretto.
16/01/2026: Great dining experience across the board! The atmosphere is remarkable -- elegant but effortlessly comfortable. We split a Burrata as a starter, and it was deeply flavorful. For mains we had a Black Truffle Taglitelli and Ossobucco with a side of their potatoes. Every bite was a treat. We enjoyed a really nice Tuscan blend red wine that the waiter recommended (wish we had noted the name), and it paired very well with both our mains. We were far too full to order a dessert, but it was tempting. We had some terrific dining experiences in Firenza, and this is at the top of our list. Ben fatto!!

25/10/2025: A truly impeccable place, from the overall atmosphere to, most importantly, the food! You can sense the care and love that goes into every dish. Rarely do you find the typical flavor of home cooking combined with the expert expertise of a talented chef in a restaurant dish, but Tommaso perfectly manages to bring this combination to life! Even a simple post-dinner chat with the chef and waiters leaves a pleasant memory, always part of that customer care that restaurants with large seating capacity simply can't match. Keep up the good work, guys!

01/01/2026: We went here for New Year's Eve dinner. We had a menu that featured all-fish for the occasion, and we were very satisfied. A very positive note was the wine list, with many wineries and varieties, and the sommelier.

10/03/2026: Dinner was delicious and friendly service. Only downside: some street vendors entered to the restaurant (inside) and tried to sell bracelet and roses. Not sure why the owner even let them in since it partly ruins the dinner athmosphare.

09/02/2026: Thanks to a last-minute reservation, I was able to have lunch at this trattoria.
The food is fresh and imaginatively prepared, so the dishes are delicious and... plentiful. Ten appetizers, two first courses, a fried dish, and portions of sweets and Vin Santo for €45 per person, including wine and drinks, isn't something everyone gets in Viareggio.
The staff is smiling and courteous, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
It's an "old Viareggio" trattoria, with lots of options, lots of tables, and a bit of a squeeze. But it's a worthwhile place. I'd gladly return, too bad there's a waiting list of over a year!

04/01/2026: This was the best dinning experience we had in our 15 days visit to Italy this year.
The family welcomed us like we were one of them, the food was delicious, a good homemade meal full of flavors and love; delicious house wine.
We will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone.

Even thought it was a rainy cold day, Julia made us feel right at home with the wine tasting and meet/cheese tray. it is a rather small vineyard, but that is exactly what we were looking for. Exceed all expectations and would highly recommend.

10/03/2026: PERFECT restaurant, every aspect is top-notch, starting with the welcome, continuing with the very characteristic and attention to detail ambience, the IMPECCABLE cuisine at every course, the extremely kind and competent staff, the wide selection of wines, the (wonderful) desserts, and finally the excellent quality/price ratio. I was there tonight and can't wait to go back.
02/03/2026: Nice place, excellent food, attentive service, but since we went with a Smartbox package, they forced us to order the same courses from appetizer to dessert, neglecting our different food preferences. To be reviewed.

08/01/2026: Holiday lunch, a very nice and welcoming place, super friendly staff, and good, local food. We shared three courses (a cured meats and cheese appetizer, testaroli, and lamb), which arrived pre-cut, with two glasses of wine for about €30 per person.
Highly recommended.
07/01/2026: Appetizer, bottle of Lunigiano wine, two first courses, and two desserts.
Excellent value.
Worth a stop, even for the rushed traveler.
