17/10/2025: We like to thank the staff at La Madia for their incredible service, most specially Ryan who took care of us on October 15. We came back tonight , October 16 and brought our priest and Her Excellency Lieutenant of the Dames and Knights of the Holy Sepulcher. We were here in Firenze for 3 days from the US for the Jubilee Year Pilgrimage. We just chanced on LaMadia walking back to our Hotel the other night. The pasta and seafood were excellent and the service even better. We'd sure recommend your place to our friends who'll be visiting Firenze in the future! Thank you very much!!!

11/11/2025: A quintessentially Italian restaurant in a wonderful, charming hilltop town. They serve delicious food, coffee, and desserts, and their tiramisu is a feast of flavors. It's best to book a table on weekends, as the food is often crowded.

21/10/2025: Centrally located in the charming village of Castelmuzio, we ate at the bar and then had lunch on Sunday during the Olive Oil Festival. I highly recommend it; everything was delicious!

07/10/2025: We were tempted by the reviews, and what can I say? We were not disappointed. The food was simply delicious (we had pici with wild boar and a Fiorentina steak – over a kilo, wine, beer, schnapps, and tiramisu). We were also asked what music we would like to listen to 😁. We can only share the positive reviews and recommend not being swayed by the entrance – the real gem (food and service) is inside. The owner is simply fantastic. The evening will be unforgettable. 01/10/2025: It was a very positive experience during a pleasant motorcycle ride with friends in the Lunigiana/Garfagnana Apennines. We were welcomed, hosted, and generously fed with warmth and friendliness by the owners, Cristina and her husband. I will gladly return and recommend it to anyone interested.

08/12/2025: We found Carro Matto by chance, and it was a winning move! The Schiacciata "La Divina" with caramelized onions, fig jam, lard, and gorgonzola is highly recommended.

22/11/2025: The food quality is high. The menu offers numerous dishes, all excellent, and I recommend the DVD menu to try them all. They basically bring a large number of mini portions, all excellent, and you'll be left feeling very full and satisfied. The staff is friendly, and you'll feel right at home. It's a shame it's only open for lunch.

23/11/2025: A great experience with friends. We had a first course, tartare, and truffle fillet, the Florentine Queen, and the drinks were excellent...we were completely satisfied! The staff were friendly, and the venue was lovely and well-maintained.

14/10/2025: We had dinner with friends at this lovely and welcoming restaurant. There's ample parking outside and the interior is well-maintained. The food and the dishes were overall decent, although the seafood spaghetti was extremely salty and the Florentine steak was cut too thick. The real problem was the absolutely terrible service. You need to explain to your rude young waiter that he shouldn't push the plates onto the customers' arms when placing them on the table, and that he should calm down when cutting a Florentine steak to avoid dirtying anyone near the cutting board! Good luck!

03/10/2025: I had dinner at this lovely place, surrounded by greenery by the pool. Well, what can I say? The dishes were exquisite. We had a six-course tasting menu, and I gave it 4 stars because some dishes, for my taste, were a bit too heavy with oil, and at the end of the experience, I felt a bit heavy in both my mouth and stomach. Perhaps the price was a bit high, €75 per person, considering we only had water and the dishes used were fairly simple and humble. The service was very friendly and attentive, explaining each dish to us as it arrived in an excellent manner. I'll be back for another experience. Congratulations 👏

07/09/2025: Nestled in a beautiful, meticulously maintained natural setting, Al 588 offers a refined and authentic culinary experience. The service is impeccable, with attentive and professional staff. The value for money is exceptional for a top-tier restaurant. The wine selection is excellent, perfectly complementing the amazing cuisine. The homemade bread and olive oil are delicious and a great introduction to the overall quality of the food. We particularly enjoyed the fillet steak with porcini mushrooms and the "Montagna Toscana" dessert. A restaurant that masterfully combines taste, elegance, and local tradition. Highly recommended. Top of the list in Florence!

22/10/2025: Highly recommended for traditional cuisine and pizza, and for the friendly and helpful staff. A group of friends and I have now become our go-to place for fun and spicy evenings. 🌶🌶🌶 Must try the pizza spietata 😀🫢and of course everything else. 👍

08/10/2025: Wed night, arrived at 8pm, no reservation. They very nicely found us a table for 2. The steak was great, ditto side of roast potatoes. There are very few vegetarian options. A couple of side dishes and a few pizza choices. My phone app said the sound was 68-74db's (quite loud) during our meal. The creme caramel was bland but the terimisu was delightful.

30/11/2025: Best pizzas we had in Florence so far, better than some restaurants with higher grades and full of tourists. Here you can taste the real thing and the passion that goes into cooking. Lots of choice, fresh ingredients and great service. 🍕👌🏼

25/11/2025: RUDE. Not for tourists. Went in without a reservation and got nothing but attitude. God forbid you walk into this glorified pizzeria without a reservation. Experience in Italy has been great except for this place. Then after giving us a hard time, we sat and waited half hour. Ignored, nobody even acknowledged we were there. We just left. Tons of places around, don’t waste your time with a place that doesn’t welcome tourists. *** 1) I did not exaggerate. 2) We walked in, stood by the door, nobody greeted us, there was nobody there, we waited, and then, since there were empty tables, we thought that maybe we were supposed to sit down. Right or wrong, there was no reason for your staff to be rude about it. 3) When nobody approached us after sitting down, we were not sure if maybe we were supposed to order at the counter. How would we know, nobody acknowledged us, and we were just sitting there. 4) Huff? Nobody left in a huff. How much time were we supposed to spend sitting around un-acknowledged before just leaving to go somewhere else? 5) You can write as long a response as you want, but there is NO EXCUSE TO EVER BE RUDE.

27/08/2025: A simple and welcoming place, with a family-like atmosphere. We ate really well, and I recommend it to anyone passing through Grosseto. It's one of those places I'll never forget! Highly recommended.

07/12/2025: I agree with all the previous reviews about the unusual experience, which was fun, especially for the kids, who ran around freely, unlike at all the other restaurants. Unfortunately, the food is poor quality, and the service is very slow when there are large tables, as portions are dished out on the spot. The Mad Hatter and Zaccaria are truly hilarious and welcoming. I hope to return for better food, truly. While we were going to the bathroom, I noticed the plates already prepared with appetizers for a large table that was about to arrive. It honestly didn't seem very hygienic, and what's more, it was within reach of everyone passing by in the corridor. I hope they don't do this in the summer, because the food would suffer from the heat.

30/11/2025: I'm sorry, it was a disappointment. I obviously wasn't as lucky as the others, given the previous reviews. The food was shocking, poor quality! It's true that you spend little, but that little is already too much! Given the type of place, you can party hard, but we mustn't forget that it's still a restaurant, and the main focus is the food. You can make it simple, and it's fine, but what I tried today was shocking.

02/12/2025: We ordered two takeout pizzas. The pizza was very good, both in terms of the dough and the ingredients, although I personally prefer the mozzarella chopped and sprinkled throughout. The prices are a bit higher than average, even though the quality is certainly higher than usual. However, €9 for a pizza with sausage is perhaps starting to be too much. The place is also a restaurant with a beautiful view. Paid parking is available nearby, and there are also some free ones.
